No one has their knickers in a wad about you using sales numbers to trumpet the PS4's superiority in all areas. It's actually pretty damn funny. But what is annoying -- to me and others -- are your proclamations of "Who, ME?" innocence when met with accusations of trolling or even trying to piss on a very small One parade here because of your blinkered loyalty to Sony. There's nothing inadvertent about your sales figures post. Not one syllable of it was written with informative intent. It was a schoolboy attempt to simulate a cat marking its turf by pissing around the perimeter.

What I am reading is One owners enjoying their systems and a troll 4 owner enjoying "his" sales numbers.

I dont care what anyone says the one is an amazing bit of kit to me, truly next gen, unless next gen means slightly better graphics than last gen to some people.

I turn on my one and 3 other devices turn on with it i can still play online clubs in Fifa while the Kings game is snapped , stuff like this makes it next gen to me.
I couldnt be happier with my choice and its about to get better when my Wheel gets here next week.

I wonder why some of you guys get personally upset by any discussion of the sales numbers this generation. Somehow I didn't think it happened last gen when the 360 dominated in America.

Hmm. Let's assemble a few facts followed by a logical inference here.

Fact: You are a known Sony loyalist in this forum.

Fact: The Xbox One, while lagging in global sales, is gaining traction here at DSP. A few guys have purchased One's recently, and the One exclusive Forza Horizon has helped respawn DSP Poker Nights.

Fact: I can't recall anyone tossing the 360's superior sales figures at PS3 enthusiasts here when PS3 enthusiasts were discussing their enjoyment of their new console.

Inference: You felt you needed to defend the Sony flag amid this minor brushfire of DSP One admiration and enjoyment. So you cited sales figures.

Come on, man: We're not stupid. Would you have cited these sales figures anyways? Would you have trumpeted the PS4's superior sales numbers -- which are a known fact to ANYONE with a pulse who follows video games -- if we weren't discussing our fun with the One?

Sorry you didn't get my analogy. Maybe you'll understand this one. The Toyota Camry is the top-selling car in America. But does that mean it's better than the Mazda 6, which has earned the 2014 J.D. Power award for the top midsize car sold in the U.S. for performance and design? The Camry's MSRP is $26,635. The Mazda 6's MSRP is $25,690. That's a difference of $945. Is that a large enough margin to be odd?

Let me close by asking you this question: What current-gen consoles do you own?

Totally agree and the only thing that could detract me from my choice of console is if it was to go the way of Betamax or hd dvd.

The snap feature is definitely one of the coolest options that I like to use on the Xbone. Was playing my HUT match early this morning while I was watching in agony how United tied Chelsea. Very cool.

Now on the PS4 I am also very eager to try the share feature soon and hand in my controller to JC Cauthen and let him score a -6 for me on Pinehurst #2.

That a grown man could be so sensitive to factual information about how many videogame systems have been sold in America is genuinely amazing to me.

I don't think it would go away. Just a matter of whether MS is willing to continue the business if it means regular promotions like free games and possibly price cuts sooner than later.

That would be the practical use of the info. whether MS would continue to aggressively offer deals leading into the Holidays or even offer better deals. And whether Sony would be forced to follow suit.

The larger context is the health of the console business as a whole. A year ago, just before the consoles launched, there was a question whether they'd be as successful as previous consoles with mobile devices attracting a lot of spending from the same people who have been buying consoles.

Now, a year later, sales have compared well against previous consoles, so this generation has started out well. But there's no guarantee that sales will continue to do well or even that all the players will continue to put out next gen consoles.

Is MS reporting actual sales now or just shipped units?

I have had fun w the next gen but something still feels off. Only in the last few months with the new games coming out for holiday season has had me spend lots of times playing. But still, I don't like not having simple things like putting a game disc in and starting to play, instead of the game installing and then installing updates and you spending 30 min or more waiting to play a new game you got.

I guess I feel like why in this age we still have consoles/systems. It's like there should have been the next jump conceptually/technically to something else than a console sitting in your room and a controller in your hand. The concept hasn't changed much since the Atari 2600. And online has pretty much remained the same the last 10 years. It seems archaic to me compared to all the other technological advances made in the last 10 years or so in other entertainment minded industries. It's like we're getting a new rotary dial phone every 6-7 years instead of an iphone.

If you actually look at the sales figures in a bubble the XB1 has sold more units than the 360 at launch which sold more than the Xbox. Bad communication and PR coupled with players really not wanting new advances just prettier graphics gave Sony this lead. MS counted on consumers being smarter which is just poor prep on their part, they won't make that mistake again.

I certainly didn't clip anything in a way to put anything out of context. You are CLEARLY calling those consumers who gave Sony the lead unintelligent and impressed by pretty graphics instead of new advances. This is not a response that singles out the 'trolls,' but part of the blanket denigration of sony supporters that continues to bounce around the echo chamber that this forum has become, and frankly, something that I find to be more offensive than the mere posting of sales numbers.
