For NHL 15 last gen.. they really tweaked some things for the better. Never before have I been more scared with a 1 goal lead and icing the puck and having to sweat out a faceoff in my end late in a game. Losing it could result in a tying goal. I keep feeling like they did some meaningful adjustments to this years last gen game for the better.

New Tuner Set for Next gen came out today. I'll give it a shot maybe tomorrow .

Details :

-Overall tuning pass for goal scoring balance.
-Goalies will be weaker when forced to move more and/or when they end up in desperation saves. (goalie reaction/awareness tuning)
-Puck carriers are now more accountable for being in control before shooting for better accuracy. (puck control/shot accuracy tuning)
-High percentage scoring areas will be more advantageous to shoot from than when forced to shoot from bad angles. (shot accuracy and goalie reaction tuning)

Found some good impressions of the patch from a user on OS :
I've played a couple of Be A GM games with the new tuner, and I have a few observations.

(1) Goalies are definitely more sluggish going from side to side, making it easier to score on cross-crease passes and breakaways. I haven't gotten into a shootout with the new tuner yet, but I would assume that it's easier to score there as well for the same reason.

(2) Because of (1), goalies also have a harder time recovering from desperation saves. This goes both ways -- I've had a goal for and a goal against because of the resulting open nets.

(3) Players are much less aggressive with hits, unless it's called for. Hit power appears unchanged from the last tuner, but they don't go for them nearly as often. Players seem to jostle and nudge rather than trying to truck people. The current balance is much cleaner.

(4) There is a lot more stick activity. Both my AI teammates and the CPU opponents were doing more poke checks and stick lifts, with varying levels of success.

(5) As a consequence of (4), there are more tripping and interference penalties. In my last game, there were 3 penalties a side.

(6) I feel that passing may have been tweaked a bit because I noticed both teams with more open lanes. This may be a result of the toned-down hitting. The CPU passing also seems a little less accurate than before -- they missed a few easy ones in my games.

EDIT: A couple more ...

(7) The CPU takes a lot more shots now. I've actually been outshot by the CPU in 2 of the last 3 games, which practically never happened before this tuner.

(8) This may be a coincidence, but I've had two injuries in the last three games with the new tuner -- after only one injury in the previous 37.

New tuner is promising, I only played one game.. like some have said, hits are much better now and not a hit fest, seems the CPU will only go after the hit when it makes sense. CPU team had 6 PP's to none for me. (default AS/hardcore with penalty sliders turned to max).

Game is back to feeling more organic/loose. If you have the slider for the AI to set your strategies, the bug is still there that keeps it on the screen and you can't poke check or anything until there is a stoppage and it goes away.

My players still seem to do this spin-o-rama at times and I'm not sure what I'm doing to trigger that, it never happens when I play the last gen version. It stinks because it usually causes me to lose the puck.

I was out shot big time, which is a good thing I guess. They really need to patch the defensive AI, if I select a player and go after the puck carrier, the AI player should find the guy parked in front of my net and defend against that cross crease pass for a one timer.

Definitely a step in the right direction overall, but I need to play more games.

No doubt, it's the only mode I've been playing and other than the odd server issues it's been good games online.

The new patch fixes most of the broken stuff offline, but online is still bad. Super goalie and the puck is always bouncy. Maybe they didn't do the changes online yet?

I think there was another tweet that had #HUT in it. They are going to make EASHL a HUT mode, and XXXIV can officially burn the whole place down.
