IT's Halo. You just need to find a good spot to run for cover. Come out and kill as many as you can, then duck back into cover and wait for your shields to power up. Eventually the number of enemies will drop and you you can form a reasonable strategy to wipe them out while avoiding the wizard. Of course, any shits you can get in on the wizard as you go will help in the end.

For the hive, the shotgun and melee will take care of them, and then you run. There is usually a place toy fall back to out side of where they will follow. I'm assuming it is that warehouse like place in the dark with the hive and other enemies, with a wizard that needs to be taken down. It was a b*tch to finish, but I did it solo, too. It was much easier, though, when I ran through it with a friend.

OK, I learned this last night and it was a game-changer for me. I figured I'd share the info, in case some of you are like me and DIDN'T know this...

Once you hit level 15 with ANY character, then you can choose the second subtype on any new character. So, since I have a level 17 Titan on PS4, and I wanted to check out the Hunter bladedancer class, I was able to roll a brand new hunter and start leveling bladedancer from the beginning. I had the arc blade by the time I was level 4, and I won't have that massive spike in difficulty at 15 when you try to start leveling a subtype all over again.

I thought that was pretty impressive. Do it once, and from then on you just pick any subtype you want from the start on your other characters.

I think it's probably just me and Teal that are playing this non-stop, and we're on opposite systems! On the PS4 side, I level capped last night while running through the Strikes with my wife and a buddy, and let me tell you--when you get to the Strikes at the end of Venus, those things are HARRRRRD. I think the final boss took us a solid 15 minutes of fighting to down it.

Strange thing about hitting the cap is now the gear hunt--you're looking for gear with "Light Points" in it to raise your Light Level, which is what boosts you above 20 to 21, 26, etc. I really can't get enough of this game, and it helps that the wife is still hooked on it, too. Teal, you need to get a PS4. Danimal never plays except for like a 2 hour window on one of the rare times when I'm not on

My XBox One died (found out the drive was bad, no idea how long since I'd only played digitally for a month or more), so I got a new one and redownloaded it. I think I have a level 10 hunter, but that's as high as I've been on the XB1 side. I wasn't really indicting people for not playing, even though in re-reading it, it sure seems that way

It's just so odd to go from the PS4 controller to the XB1 and then the 360 from time to time. My aim gets all screwed up!

I'm at Level 14 my 15 year old son reached level 26 last night. I don't really play any of the other FPS games....I always liked the Halo series even though I didn't really play it all that much but I really am loving Destiny. This was the one game that I wanted to upgrade to next generation for and was interested in it ever since the videos came out last year. To me it's really delivered everything that I was expecting and more and I can't wait to see what Bungie does with upcoming versions.

I think you have to find and equip special weapons and armor and level those up? I never played an MMO like this. I'm sure Terry can explain it better.

Well, I am a little disappointed that the DSP clan on XB1 is a bust.

Pete1210 wrote:Well, I am a little disappointed that the DSP clan on XB1 is a bust.
I think that's the bigger thing--somebody asked "hey can we make a clan in here?", so I figured out a way to do it. But like other things at DSP, stuff flames out extremely fast. I don't know if there's even really a point to having a clan in the game. You can still see everybody on your friends list on the roster page at all times, and I don't even see a "clan roster" show up at all. Maybe it's future functionality, I don't know.

The problem I have is that I have 2 PS4's...I don't have 2 XBox Ones. So when I play, the majority of the time it's with my wife on PS4. Everybody else seems like they're on XB1, and by the time she goes to bed and I hop onto the XB1, nobody's on (except Teal hahah). I don't know what the resolution is to that other than trying to have a "Destiny Night" or something. But with the fireteam limit at 3 unless we all hit level cap and start raiding--or maybe do 3 vs. 3 games in the Crucible, which could be cool--it's not like we'd be in one big party and have a poker night like the old days.

It's sort of a trip. It's an AWESOME game in a 3 man fireteam, moving from story missions to Strikes to exploration and all sorts of things in between. But trying to go bigger for 10 guys can't happen at all, and if you get too far apart in levels, you can't really do much together anyway other than watch the highest level guy wreck shop.

I'm going to dedicate myself to capping my Hunter on XB1, though, so at least I have something to play with you guys. I just hit 11 with him today, and if there's a set time we want to try to run some stuff, I can definitely be there for that.

It's not so much a bust as it is people on at all different times, and there are only like 6 or 7 of us total playing. Considering you really only need 3 players to do most of what the game has to offer, it's not THAT difficult to do. Hell, myself, my wife, and a buddy ran all the Strikes up through the last one on Venus last night, just the three of us. And my wife was pitching it, but not doing major damage. My buddy and I would have 100+ kills routinely to her 20, so in reality you could almost run some of those things with just a pair of guys (if you could avoid matchmaking).

It wouldn't be that hard to get a 3 man group together to do some stuff, but the levels matter so much, it would take some coordination. I could start a character and be ready to roll by 7:30 or so ET. I know a lot of guys don't get on until 10 ET, so if there are a couple guys who want to try to run some story missions and really experience a 3-man fireteam on XB1 tonight, let me know. I'll start a team and we can blast through some content. However, if people want to use THEIR already-created character, that would take some more work. It's no big deal if it's level 5 or 6 vs. level 2 or 3, but if we're talking level 18 vs. 3, it's pointless.

Fshguy and I have been playing a few hours each night. We finished the story, if you want to call it that, Wednesday night and did the Moon strike mission last night to hit level 19. I know I plan to level up one of each character.

I tell you what--if you start that Hunter as blade dancer and level that up from the start, you feel like a freaking BEAST by the time you're level 6 or 7. Guy routinely wipes out elites and entire hordes of enemies within a single super. Absolutely digging the blade dancer, much more than the Gunslinger.

So I'm running around on earth yesterday, just looking for caves, loot, random stuff, and I go to where the mission that opens the big satellite array is, that area. When I get there, I see a couple dudes sitting on the hill to my left, firing away at...something. I went over to where they were, and they were firing into a cave that was some 150 yards away. Over and over and over and over. I thought it might be a random mission, so I join in. The enemies were respawning...infinitely. Then I understood. This was an exploit they were using to get loot. At one point, they stopped firing and ran toward the cave, so I followed. There was ammo EVERYWHERE, lying around, and several orbs.

When I left, they were still there. Firing into the hole.

So these guys spent lord knows how long sitting in one spot, shooting fish in a barrel. Oh, they were level 25-27, too, and I'd bet this is how they got there. But I was bored after, like, 5 minutes.

How do people do that for so long???

Because (as you may or may not know), finding big gear with +Light levels on it can be tough, especially if you don't have time to run strikes. You could re-do story missions over and over again, for a possible engram drop off the end boss.

Or, you can go into "the cheat cave" and annihilate an endless stream of low-level easy-peasy mobs that could drop blue or purple gear that suddenly boosts you to level 25, 28, etc.

Basically, it's a quicker short-cut method to get better gear than running the actual missions, and people love short cuts. Personally, I'm still only level 21 since I'm doing it the old fashioned way.

I'm with you, though. I can't do it. I don't understand why they do it. But I know people do it.

If you want to piss those people off go stand down closer to the cave. I guess that will keep the bad guys from respawning. Or if you are a Titan throw up your bubble shield around everyone firing.
