He throws that sh*t on Hard when the levels are 3 or 4 levels above us, and one of us is level 2!! One mission we tried I think we all got the "revived 5 players" achievement within the opening firefight. If my internet wasn't so crappy last night (I was getting dropped every few minutes, it seemed), I could have stuck around for the victory that he and Diablo pulled off. Those missions on Hard certainly give you a feeling of achievement when they're bigger than you are, level-wise!
No pain no gain! Go big or go home.
That mission Diablo joined in the middle of, so I'm not a total masochist. And then you kept dropping which made it even more frustrating. Hard seems the way to go, except when your way below the mission level.
And the fire team size increased at level 5 to 6 members. Does it get bigger the higher you level or is 6 the biggest group we can have. Anyone know?
Talk about thrown into the fire! I'm into the game 10-15 minutes and I get invited into a "Hard" firefight! Thanks Hogz!
Remember after your invite is accepted you need to set your clan console choice. Right now not everyone is set and only Terry and I are on PS4 so our clan doesn't even show up in game

Second day in a row I can't play for more than 5 minutes (sometimes as few as 3 steps forward) before I get any number of errors.
Centipede, Bee, Fly, Lion, you name it.
Happens on both PS4 and XBox One. Happened on an Asus RT-AC66R and a Linksys WRT54G.
Opened all the ports that the FAQ sheets say to do on Bungie's site. NAT type on PS4 shows 2, Open on XBox One.
At no time have I been able to finish more than 1 mission in the evenings. When I get up at 4AM and play, I'm fine. At lunch, I'm fine. In the evenings, it's scream-worthy madness.
The reports all say that this happens at College Campuses, but I've gone in and modified every setting they recommend, and I still cannot play it.
Pissed beyond belief after 2 straight nights of f*cking with this.
I made it into the Crucible for some MP and it's fun. Very Halo-like...in a good way. I lost connection with the Bungie servers during the second game though.

And of course there are people ridiculously good at MP already. I know I play video games and shouldn't talk too much but, Christ, get out of the house a little bit.
I saw you online Terry but I was just logging off to play madden. I apparently went the wrong route based on our clan, almost everyone is XB1. It seems the console thread had no bearing on the console people would choose. All the offline gamers went PS4 and online gamers stayed XB1. I'm not into buying multiple version this generation so I'll have to go it alone. I also realized I spent very little time with the Beat because i have no idea of half of what is going on.
1. What are emblems used for anything?
2. When I go to a mission I see random people doing it solo as well, how do I join them I can't figure it out?
3. Loot crates are very hard to find.
4. I can't find how to get into the Crucible.

Don't worry about seeing me online, because I sure as hell can't stay online for more than a couple minutes without getting bounced. I won't be playing it at all until that is solved. Destiny is the only game that's doing that.
1. Emblems just make your character name more personalized. Nothing more that I've ever seen.
2. You'd have to aim at them, click the R3 button and choose Invite to Fireteam or Join Fireteam. You can kill stuff with them in the open world with no penalty, though. It's just when you cross that "respawns restricted" fog wall that they'll disappear unless you're in a fireteam.
3. Yes, they are. Especially early on when there are so many people playing, there's somebody rolling through each location every minute, probably.
4. In the tower you accept the challenge from the Crucible master. Then you go into orbit and select a destination. At least that's the way it was when I tried it one time in the beta. You join a crucible mission the same way you join a story mission.
Well, I just went down and got a NETGEAR Nighthawk router when my search for answers led me to it, and set it up at lunch. Its Wi-Fi speed smoked my old router, and when I went to try Destiny--I didn't have any red "Contacting Destiny Servers" or errors throughout lunch.
Keeping my fingers crossed for this evening, but so far the early returns are promising. I might actually get to play this thing before October.
Teal, I purchased and installed the 360 version last night. Cool thing was, the characters on the XBox platform are universal, so I can play on 360 or XB1 with the same set of characters (and if for some insane reason, you bought an XB1 at some point, you'd have your same character too).
So that was kinda cool. If I can play the game at all, I can at least play with you lol

Well, that's definitely cool. I honestly don't know if I'll ever get another console (I've learned never say never...lol) but that's certainly good news should I choose to. I plan on firing 'er up tonight!
Just be advised that since I've been screwed on the connection front for 2 days, IF I can get on without being disconnected constantly, I'll be a hellatiously low toon. So I may not be able to join you for a bit unless you start a low guy.

I did. But since I am out of town until the weekend it is still wrapped up nicely and I might swap it for the X1 next week if the clan is going still strong with the MS version.

I only saw one DSPer on XB1 last night, but I cut out a little early after running a friend through a few of the beginning missions.

Got my network issues 100% resolved last night.
I played for at least 3 hours last night with the wife--I never saw you on, sorry. We stopped about 8PM PT and I shifted over to play on 360 with Teal for a while.
Then I played with Don on XB1 until close to Midnight--and then my wife woke me up at 5AM to play some more on PS4. Played with her until it was time to go to work, so I'm definitely on the PS4 quite a bit.

Well we just missed each other, I got on around 10pm CT. I can't believe but I'm seriously considering buying this for the 360 to get the free XB1 just to have a good stable to play with.
BTW that headset is fantastic, I downloaded the Destiny profile and put it on #2 and the game sounded amazing.

Glad you like it...I really dig that headset, which I didn't think I would when I got it. It was sort of that "I need a headset for PS4, because that default earbud is massive--and my Astro A40s are connected to my PC most of the time" scenario. And yeah, you're exactly where I was with the contemplation of the versions. When I saw the numbers posted on the first page, I knew I had to get it on XBox, too. Then Teal got me all squirrelly with the "I won't get it, yes I will!" business, and I purchased on XB1 first. So by the time he said he was going to get it, I had to get the 360 on its own.
This is after already getting my Ghost Edition and Digital Guardian Editions on PS4 for myself and my son--add in my new router and Destiny is a significant investment in my household! =/
But it IS really cool to hop over and play with Teal, get a gun from a strike mission and be able to use it (and the same characters) on XBox One or 360, since they apparently share the same servers. Which makes it twice as weird that I can't just play with Teal on the XB1.
