Absolutely. The game is the real deal. I was only on for about 20 minutes when Hogz invited me in for some coop with TC...wow. I had to learn on the fly but it was intense. The game is gorgeous. We had a great time. Thankfully those guys gave me some insight to what the hell was expected of me . I'm a Level 4 after our battles! Can't wait to play again tomorrow evening.

I enjoyed the little I played last night tremendously. I had just finished the opening tutorial style mission and arrived at the hub when Terry sent me an invite, and he, Truth and I went off together on a few beginner missions. This game is clearly built from the ground up with co-op in mind. I rember really enjoying doing the campaign missions in Halo 2 (I think it was) co-op, and the missions here are far better destined for multiple people. Bungie certainly knows how to make a smooth, responsive and satisfying action shooter, as well.

I may not have tons of time these days to play, but I can see myself really enjoying this one. The whole loot / level / new gear thing seems well put together and enemy AI seems nicely variegated and balanced. Jump in / jump out co-op is where it's at.

I got the the hub last night and saw Terry online and I realized I have no clue how to send an invite or party chat on the PS4. I also realized I have no headset, do the 360 headsets work on it?

Anyway tonight schedule is clear hope to play and get a better idea what is going on.

Are the clans cross-platform?

Did anyone set up a DSP clan I could join playing on XB1?

The Group on Bungie is universal, and then there are PS4 and XBox Clans inside. You just join the group, then click the "Set as PS4 Clan", "Set as "XBox Clan" in it. I clicked each one and I'm a member of both at once, so they seem to be cross-platform.

I'm not a sci-fi guy at all. But I loved all the Halo games, so Bungie has a ton of equity with me.

I normally don't play online very often and I'm not particularly good (ok I'm terrible) at FPSs but I am definitely intrigued by this game (as far as FPS I really liked Halo vs Call of Duty type games). Is there room for someone like me to enjoy this game? I don't have a ton of XBL friends so some of the time would be spent playing with randoms I guess. Am I destined to just get killed every 5 seconds?

He throws that sh*t on Hard when the levels are 3 or 4 levels above us, and one of us is level 2!! One mission we tried I think we all got the "revived 5 players" achievement within the opening firefight. If my internet wasn't so crappy last night (I was getting dropped every few minutes, it seemed), I could have stuck around for the victory that he and Diablo pulled off. Those missions on Hard certainly give you a feeling of achievement when they're bigger than you are, level-wise!

Seriously, though--my brother just bought it and he's never played a shooter in his life. He played through the tutorial and by himself for a bit because he's kind of a pansy like that, and he said he thoroughly enjoyed it. When it comes to co-op content, it's hard to go wrong, even with randoms. Everybody is shooting stuff, and it's a bit tough to tell which shots of yours are hitting and which shots are somebody else's.

I wouldn't sweat it, and just hop on board.

So I sent a request to join the clan which you accepted and then I tried to set as my choice as PS4 and you needed to approve that as well. Seems like you will be busy if you need to approve everything yourself We need more clan members set on each side according to the screen I am seeing on logging ing.

Ugh--the only options were "allow everybody", "not open" or "allow with admin approval". I didn't think we'd want some random people searching crap to join up out of the blue, but maybe we do. I don't know.

*EDIT* I changed it to just "open", screw it.

You were the only one who actually set the clan, though. The others who've joined just joined the group.

It says you're part of the group, but not the clan. So I'm not sure what you did.

That's the general message in the welcome screen, I don't think all the web portions are tightened up yet. When I clicked on groups it said i wasn't in a clan when I clearly am

That mission Diablo joined in the middle of, so I'm not a total masochist. And then you kept dropping which made it even more frustrating. Hard seems the way to go, except when your way below the mission level.

And the fire team size increased at level 5 to 6 members. Does it get bigger the higher you level or is 6 the biggest group we can have. Anyone know?

Yeah, I had a great time when I wasn't getting disconnected. I know it was an issue with my network last night, because I'd lose connection in both PS4 and XBox One at the same time. I fired them both up and would leave the PS4 version running just to see, and I'd lose it on both at the exact same time.

I'd see that I couldn't load a page on the internet for about 30 seconds, then it would come back and I'd be good until it happened again.

I've never had anything like that, so hopefully today is a better day. I rebooted everything several times last night to no avail.

But to the actual missions--yeah, Hard is the way to go. That was awesome except that one firefight. Been so long since I played ANYTHING online with people and used voice chat that it felt all refreshing again, for some reason.

As for fire team size, most of the story missions are 1-3. The strikes are 3, and I know there are Raids in the game. I'm assuming that's what the 6 man limit is for. I bet it would tell us we couldn't land for a story mission if we had a 6 man team on a mission that said 1-3 for fireteam size.

I've been first trying to get my hands on the game. My pre-order at Kmart didn't ship due to a screw up with their rewards points system. Canceled that, ordered a digital copy at Gamestop.com and the code never arrived. Some problem processing my PUR card online, which could not be resolved quickly. So I canceled that order this morning. Since I'm sitting on a ton of Gamestop credit I am going to the store this afternoon. Not sure whether I am getting digital or disc.
