Lost 3-1 to Arizona.. was a great game though. I love hardcore, but I have to turn it back to auto pass from manual - too much going on for me to have to hold a trigger for pass speed.

Only had 1 PP each though.. ugh.. guess penalties will never be fixed in console games. After listening to the Rams game, maybe it's better that way. :)

Always best to look away. I dont remember being this depressed after a Rams game the last decade. Its been bad. Last time I was this down was that playoff game against Carolina where Martz decided to play for ot. That was pretty pathetic and may he burn in hell for that but today was so weak.

FYI regarding game patches; http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/ ... e#33518185

September --
-Playoff Mode
-BAP coach feedback
-3 stars
-HUT details

October --
-OTP (no goalie control)
-Be A GM draft

FWIW, I've about used up my 6 hours of EA Access, and I'm really happy with how the game plays. I've played 7 games online. The gameplay still has it quirks, notably that controlling dmen is very jumpy and loose puck scrambles are a bit unpredictable when they shouldn't be, but it's really a breath of fresh air into the game down on the ice.

Yeh but ill be getting fifa no matter what, the only way i get NHL is if its my free game or on sale. Other than the golf game i dont really have an interest in anything thats already available or coming this week.
With golf being reduced price already i dont wanna waste my freebie on it.

Fifa is well woth 60 bucks it has this mode in it called clubs where you can set up a team of friends and play against other teams of friends its awesome.

Sometimes the games that have a long lasting impression are the ones that are flawed or broken. You remember those for their quirks and unique fuckedupness than the games that play without any issues.

Rammer taking questions here : http://www.operationsports.com/forums/e ... ate-3.html

sounds like they're feeling the heat. Maybe by April they may have a lot of the modes back in the next gen game. Not all, but more than they have now. I guess you can buy it for $60 now or get it next year when it drops down to $40 with more modes.

I'm torn. I'm Canadian, which means buying NHL is like a Brit buying FIFA, it's just what you do. I played my 6 hours of Access, and I dig the gameplay changes. Like I mentioned over on hormone central, aka Operation Sports, it feels refined, but not revolutionary.

The presentation is really good though....... but I didn't play far enough in GM mode to find out if it's as good as NBA commentary where they mention previous games played, etc. But a change was needed.

The menus are awful. not NBA2k14 Xbox One awful, but close. Or at least not very well designed. Maybe they'd grow on me.

But paying $62 or whatever with EA Access for 1/2 game? I dunno man. I know I didn't play much EASHL last year with the baby and all, but it would have been good to get back into it now that life is a bit more normal here. But I'm not going to buy NHL 14.5 either for my dusty 360.

I'm torn on whether to get it, or wait for it to go on sale, which I think will happen pretty soon........ Then again, like a 14 year old finding a playboy mag for the first time, how long will I be able to last!?!?

The game sells in Canada for a ripoff price of $69 because apparently our dollar is still weak. Interesting that I never saw our price reduced when we were stronger than the mighty green. So maybe in a month when people are bored of waiting for a patch and tired of playing the same modes, the game drops down to the $59 deal everyone is getting it south of the border.

Is that a deal? EA knows we love hockey, game won't go on sale say $39 type of sale until next spring. Maybe.

Sorry if this was mentioned earlier, but who the hell makes the stats click-sort in ASCENDING order?! How stupid is that? Because yes, when I view stats and switch to the next category, I first want to see who has 0 goals, points, and assists.

Game has definitely got warts. I picked it up on PS4, and I've already seen some poor things.

-1st period no stoppages from 2 minutes in until end of period
-Power play for the CPU team that he burned off by skating left to right in his own end over about 10 feet of ice, over and over again, without even trying to advance the puck. Easiest PK I've ever had. Horrible AI.
-looks like they fixed the high bounce physics by having the puck slammed down to the ice by an invisible hand when it is half way up its old bounce path. Yeah, it's lower, but nothing natural about it.
-that crazy, superspeed prone goalie lunge is pretty prevalent, and damn stupid

First impressions are not very good.

Just put in the game for PS4, man it looks terrible! Is it me or does anyone else feel like that also? The feed from the XB1 Early Access at least made it look like that version was more alive , but the ps4 version is really drab. No where close to Madden or even FIFA14 next gen quality.

To each his own I guess.. on xb1 the game looks great. The game play is NHL 14 2.0 but I've had so many different games. 3-2, 5-4, 2-1, 7-4, etc..
