The Gold Club (XB1) will be a day one purchase for me. I've been playing it on my PC since the beta and up until two weeks ago, the Early Access version. I finally got fed up with my low-spec PC not being able to support the game in a resolution and graphics detail that the game deserves and decided to sit it out until the XBox One version is released. I hope the game is going to lend itself to tour, tournament, club, and head to head play to the degree I believe the game is ultimately capable of delivering. I think it will evolve enough over its first 6 months, or so, to keep buyers interested in playing until it reaches its full potential. It will be interesting to see how The Golf Club is received by the PS4 and XB1 gamers as a group though. I honestly don't have a clue at this point.

I will pickup for XB1 since that is the consensus. It will give me a reason to make sure the system still works after a few months of inactivity. I've really enjoyed the golf games and interactions here whether it be the clubs in Tiger Woods or back in the day when we used to play Links.

I'm a very average golfer (never wanted to put much time in when I was younger and could spend that time running or playing sports) but have taken more of an interest in the sport the past few weeks as my wife (taking lessons this fall) and boys are just starting to play. I really hope the game is good because I can see us playing this game quite a bit especially when the weather turns for the worse and the days gets shorter.

Breaking news on The Golf Club front... HBS was able to work it out such that cross-platform course sharing will be possible among all three platforms. That means that all of the courses made for the PC version thus far (and there have been at least three dozen premium quality courses I've played) will be available for play on the PS4 and XBox One versions on day one! Seriously, console owners aren't going to know which way to turn when they pick this title up the first day... it's going to be an overabundance of treasures :D

I'm just looking forward to playing them in something other than the interactive slide-show mode I've been having to experience them in on my modest PC.

Are people attempting to make real course replicas for this game, or just pure fantasy?

On the right use the drop down menu to see 'Real Life' courses.

They are attempting to do so, but honestly, the four available themes don't really lend themselves to courses we're familiar with so far. There have been versions of Augusta, Bay Hill, Couer D Alene (which I haven't played but I'm told is pretty solid), Bethpage Black. I've played Bay Hill, which was a nice course, but it didn't look like I was playing Bay Hill. A tropical course in a rural mountain theme!? I think they'll get better over time, but until we get more control over the theme panorama, it's going to be tough to get rid of that "generic backdrop look.

There have been some killer fictional courses that quite frankly exceeded anything I thought would be possible with the course architect. I've got a couple dozen that I consider 5 star courses and can't wait to play them on my XBox One, where they'll be shown in their full, resplendent glory at 60 FPS.

Feel free to list those "5 Star" courses for us so we don't have to weed thru all the crap courses :)

I'll be off Thursday through Monday, so I'll put this list together starting tomorrow. I'll have to consult my game PC to get all the names right, as I've "Favorited" most of these courses and need to do so with the rest.

Here's a great website that reviews and rates some of the better designed courses created in TGC:

Doh!

Did you see the link to the video interviews with some of the people that create the courses? Tim Wilson plays the course with them while asking questions about their course design decisions.

I'll be selling some games this week to take advantage of the extra value that GS is offering and preordering this one for sure. Good price!

The game must be in digital format. I just sold some of my games and tried to preorder it but it wasn't on their system.

According to a thread on the HB Studios TGC forums (http://www.hb-studios.com/forum/index.php?topic=4357.0) the PS4 version will be 1080p while the Xbox One will be 720p.

For those that have both consoles which version of TGC will you be purchasing? :?:

I could go for the higher res but at this point frankly, gameplay and controls matter to me more with this game. Perhaps most of the boys are on the X1 or it's a close call, so I'll be going where the majority is.

Let's put it this way, if I happen to be the swinging vote, I am going PS4.

I'll give you the line the Xbox One owners have been giving the PS4 owners: "you'll still be getting the game, you just have to wait another week."

There are a lot of people complaining about the cost which I don't get. You have unlimited courses how is that not worth it?
