NCAA League? (Yes. Choose your team/console here.)
There was a post a while back about an NCAA league. Any news still on this? I'm geared up!
Pac posted a poll asking what system people wanted to use for the NCAA 2005 league and the majority chose the Xbox. I don't own an Xbox, so if there is interest in a PS2 league, I'd be willing to host/play in it.wco81 wrote:I think Pac and Jason are planning something with a lot of the guys here. But they're probably going from PS2 last year to Xbox only this year.

One thing which could be nice, if someone is good with Perl or some other scripting language, is to do stats by parsing the email which EA will send of the games you play.
However, the SR league was a nice departure because it was pretty casual about the stats and scheduling -- and nevertheless the games got played.

I'll be using a "lesser" team and am not good enough to play them against the likes of Miami, Michigan and USC, so hopefully, a secondary league will be available with teams not above a certain skill level or if people would like to play in 'Even Teams' mode.

Amazon has distribution centers everywhere but it apparently wants to ship products from the one the furthest from you.
maybe it is coming from the actual Amazon?wco81 wrote:A bit ticked off this morning, waiting for my goddamn iPod mini order to arrive.BBReBozo wrote:wco just took a shot at me! Wow, I didn't know that was in his programming. Here's to upgrades!

I'm interested depending on the schedule and time commitment. I can usually only play online on the weekends and sporadically during the week but nothing concrete. I would like to play as the Northern Illinois Huskies if there's not a big rush on them
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Well, I've just installed a league module here that will keep the standings and stats (if players want) of teams in a league. I'll unveil the test league sometime later so that people can play with the software. But this means we'll be able to host online leagues here.
The software works for basically any team sport (unfortunately, no support for racing or golf). But it has support for basketball, football, baseball, soccer, etc. It keeps game results, player stats (if you want to input ALL of that), standings, schedule, multiple seasons, etc. Some of it is a pain (e.g. it doesn't auto-generate a schedule, so you have to input the games yourself). But otherwise, it's not bad.
Also, it's got support (I think) for league commissioners that can make sure everything runs smoothly with stat input and what not. I'm figuring out how that works right now. So we'll need a commish or two for the various leagues that pop up. So start nominating yourselves.
Let me know if you have any questions.
