Arenas... wow..

From OS:
As many people have pointed out via Twitter and in the comments section, we have more referees! 2 linesmen, 2 referees and look at the scratches on the glass at MSG!

If I remember correctly, one players last name was Bacon and pk kept making fun of him calling him Kevin Bacon.

Felt sorry for the guy. He came on to play online hockey but instead got berated about his last name.

Maybe it was all in good fun.
Seriously? I've been called far worse by Paul while playing online hockey.
Calling me "Kevin Bacon" would have been a compliment :)

Is this the actual gameplay or just some close up video?

I want to see if they keep the same generic cam view from high atop or if they've innovated something different.

I'd be shocked if the cameras change.

I'm disappointed that there was basically no actual information about the game in the conference and trailer.

I'm confused there are multiple cameras in the game. Also the footage says in the beginning that it's actual game play. I would never play at that close up angle but I believe it is already in the game no?

The information will likely come next month after the madden 15 dump of info.

Typical mambo jumbo talk by the Rammer to hype up the newer edition of NHL, yes we'll see a new presentation by NBC, yes they've recorded a lot of commentary by the new 3 amigos and there was even talk of a new puck physics. Much like Fifa where they are advertising a new 'Feel' for the game, we won't know all the improvements implemented until we see it in action. Wouldn't be surprised if some of the stuff is already in the game but it's academically twisted in a fresher vocabulary to amass a newer audience. 8)

Yes, there are several different cameras in the game. The initial question I was responding to was if the close up views in the trailer indicate that there's some new camera innovation as opposed to the generic view most use.

I doubt it.

so in real time gameplay we're going to have the high top camera view where the players will look small just like the last 3 generations of this game? I was hoping for some innovation next gen for a different view to play this game. Can't the do side to side tv style or something new?

The broadcast view works pretty well in NHL 14 and I usually use the action cam when I play which is much closer to the ice. But you are still going to get the most benefit from seeing the most ice as possible, so that's how most will play.

A looser puck sounds good to me, and toned down hitting is probably good.

The truth is though, EA's tuner updates change the gameplay significantly from how it plays on release day, and not always for the better. So nothing is set in stone.

And finally, I'm sure the goal celebrations will continue to look very corny. Real hockey players don't stand there and celebrate by themselves. The only way to improve and is to make them group celebrations and hugs.

Is it going to be the same super goalie syndrome or superstar forwards missing from point blank range to the puck hitting the post and crossbar more frequently than in real life to artificially keep scoring down?

The latest I read is they are working on celebrations.. some 3 man celebrations and those players (aka Kane) who have a special celebration, will do that in the game as well.

They talked about a new camera where it's tilted a bit? I still use the classic camera as it's a bit further away from the ice than the "ice" camera.

Madden has new cameras, including a defensive one since they added the d-lock from NCAA. They also have a tight zoomed one which is where the video game play is captured too and a whole 22 which allows you to see all players at all times.

The cool part about it (IMO) is they mapped them to the d-pad for quick switching. So if you call a running play you can go to the zoomed camera, and then to another on a pass play. No idea if NHl will do this but I like being able to switch cameras on the fly.

I have no problems with the cameras in NHL, I edited the custom camera and have it set to a nice zoomed level with a good angle on the ice when playing forward and when playing defense I just the hit the back button to get an even wider perspective of the ice.
