The Oil's front office has no idea how to build a competitive hockey team, but it handles ceremonies like Smytty's final game as well as any team in the NHL. Pure class event that matched the man.

Blues lose their 6th straight and get the Blackhawks in the playoffs.

I hope we get our injured players back quickly or we could be one and done once again.

Tampa gets home ice and has won 3 outta 4 from the Habs this season...I am NOT worried.

Its time for Price to fulfill his destiny. The Price will be right!

Lets Go Habs!

I just hate the Flames. Final game of the season in a mean absolutely nothing game so why some players still don't get the message that hitting the numbers of a player in a tight corner is a dangerous play? In a year filled with injuries, I just couldn't stomach watching Daniel Sedin hitting his head against the glass and falling awkwardly on the ice. He had to be carried away on a stretcher, as he laid motionless. It didn't look good.

how does the seeding work this year?

Blues are a 3 seed and playing the 5th seed hawks? Shouldnt 3 play 6 and 4 play 5?

It's division based this year. 2nd and 3rd place in each division play each other.

If the Blues hadn't collapsed the last 2 weeks, they would've won the division and played Minnesota or Dallas as wild card teams.

Yeah I know, Canucks are out of the dance this season but it's still the best time of the year in this part of the world so I will be following closely as usual. There's no 8th seed this year, so no usual upset over the top team. With the new format this year, I am picking the 1st seeds over the 4's and the 3's over the 2's. I agree pretty much with Naples' picks.

Here are my predictions:

Western Conference:

COL vs MIN: Avs have definitely turned their team around this season under Patty Roy and are of the hottest teams entering the playoffs. In the end Varlamov is more than Bryzgalov and COL will advance in 6.

SJ vs LA: Sharks are tough to beat at home while Kings will rely heavily on Quick. I like the sharks style of play more so I am going to pick them but this is going the distance and it's going to be a war. Whoever advances, won't have much left in the tank for the second round.
SJ in 7.

STL vs CHI: Hmm has Miller been an upgrade over Halak? What about S. Ott? Both teams had some injuries lately and with better depth the Hawks seem to be more prepared at this time of the year. A close one too, Hawks in 7.

ANA vs DAL: After Seguin and Benn there's quite a drop off in the Stars lineup and they won't be able to manage a much deeper Ducks team. Ducks in 5.

Eastern Conference:

NY vs PHI: Who would have predicted the Flyers in the playoffs after their disastrous start? Berube changed the chemistry in the locker room and the offence is clicking. Ditto for the Rangers who have a stingy D and in the end King Lundqvist will outperform Mason. NY in 7.

BOS vs DET: As much as I'd like to see an upset here, the Bruins are much deeper than when they beat VAN a couple of years. Coach Babcock has done a fantastic job with the young kids while they were missing their 2 superstars but speed and skill alone won't be enough against BOS. The home team in 5.

PIT vs CBJ: The jackets are a hard working team and while I am not all gaga over the Pens, I think their deeper roster will take the series in 6.

TPA vs MON: Habs have been one of the most consistent teams since the Olympics. Price is a different man and B. Bishop is not quite ready to start the series. If you like offensive hockey, you'll see it here. Habs in 6.

Go Habs dammit, Canada is watching...

Nice write up Naples and I agree with with you and 10s on almost all first round picks but I will have to disagree on one series...I can never pick the Sharks to win anything . Ever. They seem to take it down a notch almost ever play off year. SJ fans can only hope I reversed jinx their team. 8)

I LOVE the NHL playoffs.

and yeah...Lets Go Habs!

Price is wrong.

Four goals on fourteen shots not good. Yeah the last one was a dunk but if he is going to play this way, might as well forfeit. Gotta make one f***in save.

Up 35-14 sog and its 4-4....Not good.

My point exactly. I'm watching both Mon/TB and Pit/Col. Love the SC Playoffs.

Ironically , I can't watch my Flyers tomorrow night because I have a baseball game. F@ck.

There is another game tonight?

For the Habs to make any run in the playoffs, Price will have to be their best player not their worst. If he dont get his head out of his ass soon its going to be a VERY short Habs playoff year once again.

Bam bam!

Weise? Wouldnt have called that guy.

Price finally makes some save in OT. Glad to see him join the rest of the team.

Love the way they attacked and bottled up the neutral zone most of the night. Play the same way boys!

Price has joined the battle.
