The deal is good online from Walmart, too.10spro wrote:If you go to Walmarts and you're looking for an Xbone, it's on sale for $450 today. Get some credit for your games and you may bring it down lower. I think it includes the Titanfall bundle too.

Whoever called a trade in pricing war was correct. Walmart has triggered a pricing war with Gamestop. Prices listed in the link are pretty much identical. $390 for an X1 and $375 for a PS4. I'm tempted to unload both.

I stopped tonight and had mixed results. They didn't take my Target edition Assassin's Creed because I'm assuming the UPC was not in their POS system but I traded in another game (PS4 Injustice) for $52! That was probably the value of a return not trade but I'm not about to assume responsibility of training customer reps and managers (who had to approve) at a company with over a 100B in net sales.

Re: Wal-Mart jumping into used game business
Awful experience over the weekend. I have a Marvel Ultimate Alliance Gold Edition that was showing a trade in value of $25 last week. Also traded in AC Black Flag ($16) and Portal 2 ($6) and a couple others. When I first went in the store the door greeter sent me to the customer service desk. All 3 women behind the desk had no idea what I was talking about. One did tell me that she thought Gamestop was the only place that you can trade in games. I called the manager on my cell phone and asked if their store had started the trade-in policy. She said she "believes so" and told me to stop at the customer service desk. I then walked straight back to electronics and the guy at the counter did know about the program but this would be his first time. What followed was a painful 1/2 hour as he read instructions on every detail to finish the transaction. Of course the $25 dollars for the Gold Edition Marvel game would not pull up. As he was working, I pulled the site up on my phone and could not get that value to come up anymore either. I finally got my printed gift card for $25 and change. I'm guessing the whole experience was a little over an hour from the time I first walked into the store. Unfortunately, it was about what I expected. And as usual with Wally World, I felt worse leaving than I did entering the store.

CAG users are posting that the game Ni No Kuni , Walmart is giving $47 back for it. The game itself new is 19.99 and used $10.
Some guy posted on there he bought 38 used copies and traded it them in @ Walmart and made around $1700.

Interesting comparison of trade-in values, service times at U.S. big-box retailers and Amazon:
