Or MS thinks Titan Fall is going to get the XBone into people' homes and is worth putting this bundle out there.FifaInspected wrote:Pete1210 wrote:In U.S. an XB1 Titanfall bundle is available for preorder at $500. A $60 savings.
In U.K. only XB1 is getting a price drop on Feb 28th, from £429 to £399. And the Titanfall bundle is £399.

I understand why people are holding off. But once you go next gen, it's hard going back to current gen. Even w/ the few games I have and distaste for the industry, I guess I am good w/ next gen.
As for the XBO price drop after 3 mo, MS just needs to admit their mistake sell the damn thing without Kinect for $399. That's the only way they're going to compete with PS4. And that $100 difference is why they're getting killed in sales. Just do it MS damnit!

As good as Titanfall Beta was for me, I am not sure if a free digital copy of the game will be enough to catch up with the sales number that Sony has put up so far and can only get better now that the PS4 is open to Japan. But it's a nice attempt to get more people into their living room. Still, unless they release a Kinect-less console at $399, they may have to continue to bundle packages as Titanfall or simply have a small price drop like in the UK.
Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
It's not like the XB1 is selling poorly. It's outpacing what the 360 sold at this point in it's lifecycle. We're about three months in. I really don't think MS is panicking. They just know that bundling Titanfall could be a huge boost for the console. The doom and gloom talk is laughable at this point. Both consoles are selling well and neither has to worry about becoming the next WiiU.

Pretty sure, there's an obvious explanation for the sales numbers at this point. At least this is my theory:LAking wrote:It's not like the XB1 is selling poorly. PS3 owners were sick of being left behind (graphically anyway) by the 360 crowd so they were first to jump ship and upgrade. The 360 owners (like a ton here) are happy with their graphical advantages and are standing pat and playing the enormous back log of games available. Yes, some, like me and a few others, bought our PS4s because of the graphical advantages (real or perceived) and that helps bump up sales numbers too for the PS4 (even though I bought both like a moron).
I have a feeling that once Christmas rolls around this year, the gap between the two from a sales point of view will have narrowed. A year plus of games will get the 360 holdouts to upgrade their consoles and, most likely, go with what they know...the Xbox One. At least that's my amateur prediction.

And no one is calling the Xbone a doomed console after only 3 months. Not me anyways. Just simply stating the fact that should MS go with a Kinect-less machine for the same price as the PS4, the sales would be much closer at this point. Pretty sure a lot of gamers went with their brand loyalty for the next-gen but among the 360 gamers the jump to go into the Xbone has taken a slower process because of the price difference.LAking wrote:It's not like the XB1 is selling poorly. Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
looks like my PS4 acts up when it's off for hours. I am now getting the same issue. Can't start the thing unless I hit the eject button. then when I start it, it will work normally until I turn it off for the night and the next day the same thing occurs. Guess I will need to call this one in.
So what happens - do they repair this one and send it back? or they ship out a new one? or a refurb? If it's a new one or refurb, I lose all my game saves and psn account?

I still have almost no desire for hands free TV and I still beat he crap out of my 360 on the weekends....but..when NHL 15 rolls out...Dont know yet.

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
The 360 had minimal graphical advantages at most by the end of the generation on multiplatform games, and the PS3 enjoyed exclusives that had some of the best graphics out there like the Last of Us. So that explanation is based on a false premise. The grahpical differences between the 360 and PS3 versions of a game like AC4 are tiny compared to the gap between the Xbox One and PS4 versions.dbdynsty25 wrote:Pretty sure, there's an obvious explanation for the sales numbers at this point. In the US the PS4 is selling slightly more mainly because of the price difference. In the rest of the world the price difference helps, but Sony consoles are also just a lot more popular. The worldwide sales gap is going to keep growing.

Bought Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare for XBONE. After an hour of trying I still can't connect to a match in this ONLINE ONLY multiplayer shooter.
$40 well spent.
I would say 'f*** you EA' but I'm the idiot that bought another EA multiplayer shooter on day one.

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
I had no problems connecting last night. I played PvZ Garden Warfare for about 2 hours. It's a fun game with lots of different options and strategies depending on which character you use. Sort of a mix between TF2 and Battlefield.Macca00 wrote:Bought Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare for XBONE. I guess these server issues are localized? Because I am also not having any of the connection problems I've read about with NBA 2K either, other than slow loading once in a while.
I did have a one issue yesterday - when I turned on XB1 for the first time I got a black error (E303) screen. Had to hold down the console power button to shut down. I powered up a few times after that with no problem. I googled Xbox One E303 but didn't come up with any meaningful information.

Pete - you're probably right about the server stuff. I had little problems with BF4 so this is likely my EA comeuppance.
Glad to hear you're enjoying it - will try to get on again tonight.

Thus far, more PS3 owners have upgraded to PS4 than Xbox360 owners upgrading to the X1:dbdynsty25 wrote:Pretty sure, there's an obvious explanation for the sales numbers at this point. There's brand loyalty but one reason fewer X360 guys have upgraded to the X1 is the higher price.
The other factor is that among people who had both the PS3 and X360, a higher percentage of them got the PS4 than the X1.
So while there's brand loyalty, the price difference factors into the difference in sales results so far.

I absolutely cannot stand the multiplayer sign in crap on the xb1. It never works correctly unless it's me by myself.
And to be fair. The ps4 and the cloud save system is s*** too. Getting more and more frustrated with both systems. Bout to trash em both. F it.

I can't stand the auto patching. Nothing drives me more nuts than turning on my PS4 and it starts downloading 2 or 3 1 gig plus patches at once. I can't pause one, it's very frustrating. On the XB1 the system updates are stupid as well, you machine boots up to a black screen and maybe a single status bar on downloading with no indication what is going on.

I don't get it. Tell me 15, 10 or even 5 years ago the quality of games and entertainment that we are getting from these boxes and I wouldn't have believed you. I was still consistently blown away by how great things looked in GTA V or how much fun a night with 5 guys playing FIFA together could be on the last generation, and things on XB1 are uniformly better so far.Danimal wrote:I can't stand the auto patching. Regular system updates or long download times suck, but 9 times out of 10 I'm happy to shrug them off for the amount of hours of fun I'm getting out of the system. Maybe I'm just getting soft in my old age, but for a guy who grew up playing 3v3 shaky-ass Atari football, it's hard for me to get exorcised about lack of Twitch integration at launch or having to wait 3 minutes for the console to load a system update.

I keep my PS4 in standby for this reason. Some of the game updates don't work in this mode (Battlefield seems to be one), but others do and I believe the last PS4 did as well.

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
I'm not sure what one has to do with the other. I think the games are fine, I'm not so blown away by the jump in graphics because I've seen better on the PC neither of which has anything to do with my complaint of a crappy interface. I don't want to delete a game like Shadowfall because I might go back to it, but I don't want it updating either. Why can't I tell it not to update that game?RobVarak wrote:I don't get it. I'm sorry if my lack for a decent UI that doesn't do things I don't want to do offends you but it doesn't change the fact that it bothers me. If I want to play Madden and their is a patch I'm fine waiting for that, I don't want it slowed down by the system downloading 2 other updates at the same time.

I've yet to see what you're saying. Not once have I not been able to play a game I wanted to because another game on my HD is being patched. That would piss me off too, but hasn't happened. BTW, I'm pretty sure you can play whatever game you want and whatever patches will download and install in the background (PS4 anyway).
