Still can't decide which I'm going to keep, the N7 or the 8.3, but definitely leaning towards the 8.3. The only reason I'd keep the N7 is it seems to be built a bit better in terms of dealing with a Toddler. The LG is a better looking and better designed product...but just seems like it's more fragile.
I like the white color. With the N7 still serving our purposes and the ipad air, I am not in a rush to get the LG although I must agree, it's the perfect size for a tablet.
I'm seriously tempted by the new Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, so far all the reviews have been glowing. I'm not a big fan of TouchWiz but according to the reviews, Samsung has toned it down.

Saw the ads at BB. Same prices as iPads? I thought Android tablets were cheaper.

Much better specs than the iPad mini retina and it's a bit bigger (fast processor, higher res screen, larger screen, solid multi-tasking with 2 active windows). So the scales tip in favor of the Galaxy Pro. Currently the A7 iPad's have uneven performance running iOS 7. When I saw the Mini retina at BB the colors weren't as vibrant as the iPad Air. They kinda looked washed out.
Specs do look great and yeah, the cool reviews of the Mini Retina screen kept me from buying it.
I was looking at the 3G/4G Nexus 7 for some upcoming trips, mainly because of the lower price.
The premium for the 8.4 might be worth it (though no info on when the LTE version would be available) if there are enough Android tablet apps. which would make use of the screens on these Pro models.
But if most of the Android tabs sold have been 7 inch models with around 720p or 1080p screens, maybe there are more apps with layouts designed for the larger, higher resolution devices now.
Besides some games, there are some great photo apps on the iPad side, like 500px, Fotopedia and others so if there's comparable stuff for high res Android tablets, these Galaxy Pro tabs might be worth the higher prices over products like the Nexus 7.
Pro 8.4 definitely is awesome. Really wish they had a stock Android version tho. I'm sure they'll get Cyanogen on it eventually. I'll probably grab one to see how it compares to the LG I've got.

If the rumors are true we'll be seeing GPE devices without the Nexus name show up on the Google Play store. I hope this is one of them.

Ummm...we already do see those bro. GS4, HTC One, Xperia Z1, LG GPad...all GPE devices without Nexus on the back. The only thing that may happen in the future is the elimination of the Nexus program, but I don't see that happening.
Well after some debating, I decided to go with the LG Pad 8.3 deal from Newegg. It seems like the best overall deal, out right now. It'll be primarily used for web, streaming audio, video and light gaming. I like the multitasking features. I saw the Newegg video and I was pretty much sold on the value. Including an aluminum back plate is a nice touch.

Ironically that's the part I least like about mine. Just gets slippery and slimy, especially after my toddler uses it. The Galaxy Pro 8.4 with the faux leather back is probably a better option at 8"...the Nexus 7's soft touch is perfectly fine as well. Oh, and all those features from the "LG" version of the GPad slow it down quite a bit. Just an FYI. That's why GPE is always better.
Went and checked out the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 in person and bought it instantly. I like the build better than the LG (soft touch vs. metal as mentioned before) and the screen is significantly better as well. Touch Wiz (well Magazine UX they call it now) is toned down and you can replace it with a stock android based launcher like Nova without problem as well. The LG is going back. The LG is still no slouch, so don't get me wrong, but I just believe the Samsung is slightly better. Given the LG is 100 cheaper in most places, that makes sense for them financially if they want to compete.

I'm debating on getting a GalaxyPro 10.1, which is being released here at the end of the month. However, the $519 price tag is kind of steep. I hear the next Sony Xperia Tablet is making an appearance at the Mobile show in Spain...... and more rumours are coming that HTC is making the next Nexus 10, though this seems kind of iffy.........
Decisions, decisions........ I suppose any new tablet that's 10inch is hitting the $499ish range on first release now, unless you're a Nexus. My patience is wearing thing, my slow ass Galaxy Tab one needs to be put out to pasture lol.
The 8.4 inch version is damn nice so I can only assume the 10.1 is even better given that its got a spec and battery bump. I wouldn't sir around and wait for the next Nexus...rumors are just that. And if you think the Samsungs are expensive...wait until you see an Xperia.
Yeah, the Xperia Z is still $499 up here for the 16 GB version, though it's usually on sale at Futureshop. But I"m guessing the new ones will be pricier still. Plus after playing around with one in store, it feels.... cheap. Maybe because it's so light? I also don't think i'd like having to remove the rubber stoppers everytime I want to hit the power button or volume button.......
I'll probably wait and see some reviews on the Pro 10.1...... I've waited this long, what's another few weeks lol.
As I mentioned to Rally in a PM...I ultimately returned the 8.4 due to the fonts being way too damn small in some apps that aren't scaled correctly. 90% of the time I'm using my tablet, I'm reading RSS feeds through Feedly and it's simply unreadable to me at the end of the day when my eyes are tired from sitting at a computer all day. If you've got great eye sight then the 8.4 is outstanding. The screen is by far the best screen I've ever seen in a device...if you can handle the tiny fonts, it's a fantastic tablet. But for my horrible eyes, I just couldn't deal with it anymore.
Well that rules out the Sammy for me. No way in hell could I see text that small. It's either a 32GB Air with a $190 Best Buy discount, wait for the N8 (rumored July) or get the LG Pad 8.3 at $250.

Yeah, I'm so disappointed. I'm sure eventually, once it's rooted, and unlocked with Cyanogen or something, you'll be able to change the DPI settings and scaled it up a bit. When that happens, I'll likely grab another one, but I don't want to sit on a 400 dollar device and wait for the day that MIGHT come. I suppose I'll probably just get an iPad Mini Retina so that I can stick it on my At&t data account since they just upgraded all of the family share plans like crazy (went from 3gb of data to 10gb of data and it's $20 cheaper, so if you've got At&t you better see if you can upgrade too).

$190 Best Buy discount?
Do tell.
My wife has gotten in to the habit of using my retina mini over her retina Ipad 3.
