So, around Augusta, GA we had a once in 30 year ice storm last week. Many were without power for 4 days or so.
Damage to trees and houses from falling trees is on par with the tornadoes I experienced in Huntsville, AL 3 years ago.
I am fine as is my family... I helped my mom's neighbor clear their driveway last Friday. Over the weekend I cleaned my yard and my neighbors yard.
I still have to help my mom clear hers. Needless to say, I am pretty tired. Yesterday I felt like I went 12 rounds with Tyson, except I still have both ears.
Then to top things off.... over the weekend we had an EARTHQUAKE! The wife and I were watching Runner Runner (awful movie) and I thought it was my woofer shaking the house.. but she jumped up fast and went to check the kids.... I then though EQ and texted my friend that lives 10 miles away.. he said "something blew up..." Of course, the only explosion big enough to shake both of our houses would have been the Nuke plant... so I thought, if that is true, I have a few seconds to live...
It was an earthquake.. not big by many standards (4.4) - but not very common in Georgia / South Carolina.
The nuclear plant is also built right on top of the fault line (ugggg) - about 20 miles from me in Edefield, SC

I am glad to hear you and your family are fine.
I don't live far away from Three Mile Island. Shortly after 9/11 a transformer blew close to here and I was convinced the terrorists were attacking TMI. It's scary.
This winter has been brutal here in PA. We've been spoiled the past few winters.

That snow debacle we had here in Atlanta a few weeks ago was crazy stuff. Took me 8 hours to get home from 20 mins away.
My wife finally made it home 2 hours after me and couldn't make it up the hill to get into our development. She left the car
parked on the side of the road and walked. In the morning we go to get the car and it was hit my an SUV and sandwiched
in between the SUV and a BMW. She has a Mini cooper. Needless to say her car was totalled. She was pretty upset about it
but we took the insurance check and doubled down on it and got another new Mini.
Next time it snows I'm staying home! What an ordeal caused by just 2 inches of snow!
