Oh yea, the Flames fourth line scored last game so maybe Torts should have sent out a different line.

I like hockey, but how can anyone outside of the diehards take it seriously with WWE antics like that?

I am a life-long Flyers fan who skips fights when watching a game on DVR. Annoying sideshow that I just tolerate.

When it's coaches, I honestly find it pretty amusing. If I recall this incident, Berube was holding back Laviolette and laughing under his breath the whole time.

Torts is to have an in person meeting with the sheriff. That's usually not good news. Well deserved though, it warrants a suspension.

Yeah, I guess I tolerate it too. Every sport has its own problems...soccer has "simulation", baseball has peds, basketball has terrible officiating, and the NFL all of the above. :D

J. Tortorella was suspended for six games today. About right if you ask me as he's obviously not a first time offender. Now, no mention on B. Hartley but he should get at least a fine for starting a goon line unprovoked. Just trying to prove to Burkie that he's a tough coach. NOT.

I like to know what starting your fourth line is so illegal....They are members of the team and maybe Calgary just wanted to have a good physical checking line out there against the Sedin's to set a tone.

What tone? H. Sedin was playing with a broken finger and cracked ribs, he shouldn't have started that game but he did. Lasted only ten minutes before he headed to the showers. I would have never started the Sedin line either.

K. Westgarth is not a centreman and one tough SOB, yet the only thing he was doing in the circle was to stare at the rookie K. Lain who was playing his first NHL game as if he was going to rip his head off. Never looked at the ref, never looked at the puck.

So K. Bieksa wanted to protect the poor kid and took the faceoff. Make no mistakes, there's no particular rule against starting a goon line but you would be naive and dumb to not know what Hartley was up to. Truculence is B. Burke's favorite word. J. Feaster was canned when he arrived, you don't think B. Hartley is trying to save his job?

What Tortorella did wrong, was to head over the Flames dressing room trying to get a piece of Hartley. That would have been fun, but he crossed the line, it's a big No-No and got what he deserved,

Hartley knew what he was doing, not the first time either.

I watched the fight and didn't look to me that anyone got "jumped" in the fight besides Bieksa...everyone else clearly squared off and fought. Could have just been a 1 v 1 fight in the end of it.

I think to blame Hartley for starting a line which scored the game before is pushing it. I don't pay enough attention to who starts a game but it is very rare that it is the two number 1 lines out there.

Why would we want Miller? I'm fine with Halak.. just got his 23rd shutout last night. We need SCORING in the playoffs, that's when our scoring seems to stop.

Good grief that would be a horrible trade.

You also need a goalie that the guys in the room can, not to mention management can depend on night in and night out. How can it be a terrible trade when we don't know what would be going the other way. It's not like Buffalo has a lot of suitors lined up for Miller's services. Army will wait until the price drops and if he does make a trade, it will be a steal of deal much like Bouwmeester last year. Let's be honest...Halak has never really fit in with our team since he's been here. ....even big Walt is on record as saying that there have been locker room issues since Halak arrived. Check the "point share" stat this season...it's like the "win share" in baseball. Crosby is ranked number one.....guess who's number two...yep Ryan Miller...and the Sabres have been God awful.
Will it happen...remains to be seen but JR says the Blues are very interested.

We don't have a goalie problem. We need to score goals in the postseason like we do in the regular season. Look at the playoffs last year, we lost all 4 of those games by 1 goal. It's time to start holding the players accountable instead of goaltending each and every playoff run. What do you mean Halak has never fit in? Where did you hear that? Big Walt? I'd take that with a grain of salt.

We need to produce in front of Halak come playoff time.

Point shares don't really mean all that much imho.. look at the top 20 all time goalie leaders.. Dominik Hasek 9th? Curtis Joseph ahead of him at #7? It's not a stat hockey people really talk much about because it's not really proven.

Go out and get a veteran who is a proven playoff goal scorer.

Just my $0.02

You are going to have to give up a young prospect, would you give up Jake Allen, the best goalie in the AHL?

Miller can be acquired without giving up Allen, Jaskin, or Rattie. We have our 2014 1st rounder and we have a Edmonton's 2nd rounder and we have two dman in Schmaltz and Vannelli that would probably be the prospect going if we have to give somebody up. My guess would be a conditional first depending on if Miller resigns here and someone like Cade Fairchild. JR reported on his twitter Monday with all the speculation that the Blues are definitely interested in Miller.
