That's really cool Lavan.

I've scored 1 goal in my last 3 seasons of outdoor play - and that was in a pre-season game LOL. I play out wide in mid-field and often end up tracking back to cover the opposition since we play with 3 at the back. But there's nothing quite like the feeling when I'm part of a move that results in a goal.

Best wishes,

Doug

I thought he was ok. Moses was worthless, as usual. Refuses to move without the ball at his feet.

Fair result, but a bit more luck and Liverpool would have had the point they probably deserved. One of the most puzzling offside flags I've seen lately denied Sterling the one-on-one with Hart and Sterling really needs to get that second half one-time shot on frame and it's a sure thing.

The difference in the game was the keepers. Hart made a great save on Coutinho's shot after that brilliant give and go, while Mignolet should have done much better with Negredo's winner.

Depth of the squad is obviously still an issue. When Coutinho came off Liverpool couldn't do anything with their possession against a very organized City defense. Aspas still looks lost out there and Moses is clearly a one-trick pony.

Need to get at least a point at Stamford Bridge on the weekend.

---
Edit:

That Sterling offside call. In this frame the ball is leaving Suarez's feet.

Both goals came after Allen miscontrolled and the ball went the other way. Yeh, real disappointed in Moses after he looked so sharp in his first couple of games.
Defense was solid other than Skirtel on Kompany but im not complaining there as Kompany is just a beast with a desire to win the ball and he was clearly better than him.
Happy with the performance could have gotten a point.
Think we'll do well against Chelsea. :D

Didn't see your message until just now, actually. Watched the game on delay, as I was still shoveling snow at kickoff.

Don't look now, but Newcastle is among the most sizzling teams in the Premier League. Up to sixth, just six points off top!

Also, Malky Mackay might be the happiest man on Earth to get fired today.

David Moyes: Winner. Leader. Legend.

And now apparently performance artist running his own community theater of the absurd:

Between 1 and 1, where does this fall on the list of all-time greatest football quotes? :D

Big loss for Colombia and Monaco as they'll miss the services of Falcao for the next six months most likely missing the WC too with a torn ACL.

Why thanks, XXXIV. It's been a lousy sports day and I needed that.

For years I've said that the emotional power of soccer is summed up by the Xabi Alonso missedPK-rebound. No other sport can give you the sheer number of emotional stomach punches that that play does. In 10 seconds there's anticipation, anxiety, excitement, horror, relief and exultation. I'll never forget a minute of that game.

What amazed me about that game , was Milan had one of the best 1st halves of football id seen they where just clinical there is no way Liverpool could turn this around.
I was watching the game whilst on the phone with my brother in England we had to end the call as there was a 3 second delay so the roof of his house would be coming off before i could see it happen . We connected later after the pens. We could hardly talk we where spent. :D

City better pray that Aguero heals up quickly because they don't stand a chance playing the way they did today. Silva was the only man interested in doing something while the Spaniards controlled the midfield. Sure it didn't help playing much of the second half with ten men as Barca got all the momentum going home.

Yeah, City were unlucky with the first goal because Busquets seemed to foul Navas and the challenge on Messi looked marginally outside the box but apart from some long-ball tactics by City and Silva's guile, Barca were pretty much in control. They may be in decline, but they're still great to watch.

I thought that City was going to get away with allowing just the one away-goal, which would have been a huge missed opportunity for Barca. That Alves goal changes the entire tie, obviously.

Haven't watched much of their matches this year but I didn't know that Neymar was in Martino's dog house. Or was it in favour of adding an extra midfielder in Fabregas. Once he came in, why was he playing off his natural wing?

Regarding the penalty, I thought it was the right call. Demichellis starts his slide outside the area but the contact was made inside as he trips Messi.

Alves could have had two goals.

I've seen 8-10 FCB games this season. In those games he's often used Neymar off the bench and usually in a free role. It's really not fair to be able to unleash that much chaos. :)

Rob's definitely better qualified than I am to answer that 10s. This match was probably the first full 90 mins of soccer I've watched all season, so I probably shouldn't even be posting on this thread 8) . Apart from Rob's observations, I seem to remember reading that Neymar has been injured recently too and maybe only made his comeback against Rayo last week.
