Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
I am really enjoying Battlefield 4 and I have only been playing the campaign. The NBA Live demo hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be but definitely not worthy of a purchase. I really like the FIFA demo. I was looking at picking up one more game but can't decide which. Ryse looks tempting.
I am a patient boy.

I just sold GTAV. That was the last bastion of current (last) generation for me. I am now 100% next gen with PS4. I bid a fond farewell to all the strippers and hookers I met long the way.

FIFA is *so* good, IMHO, and I'm barely more than a casual fan (figure a new footie title every third year or so). The only lament I have is that I'm liable to let EA gouge me for the WC version in half a years time.ScoopBrady wrote:I am really enjoying Battlefield 4 and I have only been playing the campaign. Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
You can't go wrong with either FIFA or Forza 5. I very nearly only play FIFA online in Ultimate Team Seasons or in clubs with other DSPers, so I can't comment on the vs CPU experience, whereas with Forza, I've just about only played offline vs drivatar AI, and it has been very fun so far.ScoopBrady wrote:I am really enjoying Battlefield 4 and I have only been playing the campaign. Without having played Ryse, I'd venture an opinion that while neither FIFA nor Forza will be better looking, in terms of "wow this is an amazing next-gen visual feast", either would almost surely be deeper, more satisfying, and longer lasting games with more to offer in the long term.
Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
For PS4, do you guys turn off the console or leave in standby?
Also, does standby save your game? Meaning if I'm playing fifa and have to leave at halftime, if I put it on standby and come back hours later, when I turn ps4 back in, it'll let me continue the 2nd half of my game where I left off?

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
I usually just turn mine off unless I think I will be playing remotely. The only game I know of that saves when you shut down is Madden. The Suspend feature is supposedly coming in a future update and should work for any game.

Playing remotely? wow what's that?

I'll sell Ryse for $40 shipped.

I'm over half way and I am enjoying it more as I go. The graphics continue to amaze, there have been a few additional gameplay elements, and I enjoyed a couple boss battles.Sudz wrote:I'll sell Ryse for $40 shipped.
I would definitely recommend this game at $40 shipped, especially considering you can finish it over a week or two and flip it for most if not all of your money back.

For folks who've watched Blu Rays on either console, anything stand out as wonky?
I'm getting around to outfitting my basement, and am wondering if I should just get a Sony Blu Ray player and wait for console improvements, or just factor in the cost of a blu ray and decide on a PS4 or Xbox and pretend I'm saving $100......

Not sure what you mean by wonky. I watched Elysium on my Xbox One tonight, and it was fine.
I don't think BluRay is really worth worrying about. It's going to die a slow death over the course of this generation. Steaming is plenty good enough that BluRay sales are just going to get continually worse and worse. Videophiles will need it. Everyone else will enjoy movies like Elysium just fine renting through the Xbox, Sony, Apple or Amazon online streaming stores.

My freaking drive died on my Xbone and I need to send the f***er in. How do I get the free game download?
If the downloaded games were offered on sale like physical discs.....

Anyone else having quality issues using Skype on the XB1?
My calls usually start out perfectly fine and then within anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes they switch to an awful pixelated feed to the recipient. The quality of the video feed I receive from the other person is perfect, it's just my feed that is almost indistinguishable for them. I can also tell exactly when the quality switch occurs because the smart zoom feature all the sudden goes a bit haywire and begins zooming in WAY too close to my face. It's like it can't figure out where to lock on. As soon as that happens the person I am skyping with says the quality went bad. I've tried turning smart zoom on and off but it has no affect once the quality goes bad.
This is extremely frustrating. I have spoken with both Skype support and MS support. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app among other things.
Curious to see if this is happening to anyone else...

I didn't use Skype much until the holidays, but it's been getting a pretty good workout here now. No problems at all. Maybe a faulty Kinect?Spooky wrote:

You may want to try this along with the Kinect:Spooky wrote:Anyone else having quality issues using Skype on the XB1?

My XB1 decided to stop working with my TV today. I ended up calling MS support the solution.
1. Turn off everything.
2. Unplug XB power
3. Unplug XB HDMI cable
4. Wait 30 seconds and plug everything back in.
Juts in case it happens to anyone else.

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
Skype's been great on mine, but since I was out of town all week, I haven't used it over the holiday break at all. If you're getting a pixellated mess, it's likely a network issue, not the actual skype app or Kinect sensor.
Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
I used Skype for the first time ever last night and my sister said the picture was great.
Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
That's what's weird. I have ZERO other network issues. My average speed is 40+mbs download and 8-10mbs upload. I have an Apple Airport Extreme router (not even a year old) PLUS an Apple Airport Express as a network extender downstairs right where my Xbox is. My online gaming or Netflix streaming has been perfect on the XB1 as well.dbdynsty25 wrote:Skype's been great on mine, but since I was out of town all week, I haven't used it over the holiday break at all. So odd.

Are you guys that aren't having any problems Skyping with people on different devices like iPads or PC's? I have yet to try XB1 to XB1, but my friends and family have iPads or PC's they are using.

Skyped to all different types of devices. iPads, computers, televisions...never to another XB1 tho.
PS(A): I would never rely on Apple Networking devices.
