It's there. I just tore up some Arabian Knights.
Did you have any issues with the sound? Mine is muffled for some reason. It's only that game. I've deleted and reinstalled it too. No change. I'm also having some difficulty finding a camera view I like.
No issues for me, but I picked up the disc version.

Here's a question for you XB1 folks...

Does anybody else have "unrecognized disc" issues constantly? For example, I have to insert any game 6 or 7 times before the console "recognizes" it and starts playing. Otherwise it just stays at "insert disc". If I leave it sitting there for 30 seconds or so, it will eventually show a gray "Insert an XBox One or Blu Ray disc" error. Sounds to me like a faulty drive, but is anybody else hearing of this?

Googling pulls up tons of threads on the 360, but nothing of the One.

They are going to progressively destroy everyone's disc drives just out of spite. If only they had gone digital only.

'Bad drives' were probably the number one One failure complaint during launch, though some such issues were to be expected in such a large batch hitting the market at once:

Mostly I heard about the horrible noises some drives were making. Is yours moaning and groaning?

It's not making an extremely loud click, but it's making a click, yes. I can tell when it's going to load because it clicks and then starts whirring a bit. I can only hear it if my room is silent, though. When it fails, it just clicks and does nothing.

I guess I should have Googled "faulty disc drive" and not "unrecognized disc". I apparently do Google wrong

Thanks, though. Off to Microsoft support I go.

I've been really itching to play the Co-Op Gladiator mode. Anyone wanna try to join me tonight for some brutal mayhem?
Well I had a code for some MS points so downloaded Ryse yesterday. Already 72% through the story on the medium difficulty?! Been kind of easy but fun. Up for some gladiator stuff as well.

It's a super short game, yeah.

Gladiator stuff is fun, but not something you'll put hours into every night for eternity. I like to fire it up, run some of the solo runs and crap at the end of the night. I almost sent you a message asking you if you wanted to try it last night, but figured it was probably too late.

Some of those battles in solo mode are crazy. There are a ton of scenarios, too, and some achievement for doing all of them at least once within the next week.

I'll run through it again on hard later on. The story has been good as well. I will try out the gladiator stuff later today. I didn't know there was solo stuff in the gladiator mode...cool.

Yep, that's all I've run outside of a handful of games with Steve the other night. They only give you like 4 maps, though, and they're repetitive once you know the events. The courtyard, for example, is the simplest IMO. You kill a few barbarians, then knock over a few cauldrons, kill a few more gladiators, knock over some cauldrons on catapults, kill the last wave, then the bosses. It's not like they get varied, it's always the same thing so it can be grind-y.

But the 2-player co-op stuff has instances, like "Defense of Rome" and "Storming the Gates". I'm sure some of those are pretty cool, but I have yet to try them.

Well, sold my 360 yesterday along with a couple games to a nice woman who is going to give it to her grandson. Got $160 out of the deal. By this weekend, I'll have an additional $175 from Fantasy football. Cashing another 50-60 dollars or so of some change later this afternoon, and picked up a day one edition Xbox One just about 30 minutes ago from Best Buy. They had a half a dozen of the green box, but I opted for the black box, even though I don't think there is much difference.

I'm going to try and hold off and give this to the kids on Christmas day, even though we don't celebrate the holiday. Thought it would be a nice surprise for the kids.....and myself!

PS4 in the basement, and the Xbox One in the family room.

So last night it took 17 tries to get Ryse to load, and it only worked after a reboot and the last few. Luckily my Gamestop just said they'd do a straight-across console swap and let me keep the "Day One" controller, since I guess that's the only difference between the Day One edition and the standard one.

So that's good, at least. I'll have to reinstall my games, but it's just a quick console swap locally, rather than sending crap into MS. I won't be out of commission for a week or something silly.

Bummer. Glad you got to do an exchange. Figured that would be the case since it's still within 30 days (or more since it's the holidays).

And I haven't told the wife yet, but the Wii U will be in the basement as well once Mario Kart 8 releases sometime most likely in the spring. That and 3D Mario World and I'll be in gaming bliss.

Finally got my first rental from Gamefly last week. AC4 is an excellent game but after one night, I was pretty much certain that the series just doesn't appeal to me for some odd reason. Hence, I'm glad I didn't pay full price. I think the combat system just feels off, and the stealth aspect is just not my cup of tea. Not to mention, I didn't find the game to look much different than the PS3 or 360 version. I'm a tough critic I guess.

Got NFS Rivals on the way now for the PS4. Thinking I'll get my arcade racer fix for a few days, and back it will go.

At this point, I'm definitely going to pick up Forza 5 (love that series), and Ryse for my son. Everything else will be rentals at this point. What a frickin' expensive hobby!

So I'm quite confident at this point that Microsoft had a lot more faulty boxes than they claim. Why, do you ask?

Because I got the new box, installed the update at lunch--configured my login information and XBox account, and got to the Home screen.

Put in Ryse...nothing. Another slight grind sound.

Hmmm...no way.

Pull it out, put it back in. Nothing.

Swapped to Zoo Tycoon. Nothing.

Forza. Nothing.

A DVD movie. Nothing.

This drive was bad OUT OF THE GATES...never recognized a single disc. It would attempt to load the disc in, and then never do anything, as if it didn't have a single disc in the drive (and yes, I waited about 30 seconds in some cases, which is crazy to think it would take that long).

So now I'm 2-for-2 with units that had something wrong with the drive. It either started small and got worse (box #1) or started out completely borked (box #2).

We'll see how box #3 is after work. So completely insane.

Well on your way to surpassing my record 5 faulty Xbox 360s. :) Pretty sure the One will not get the same leeway now that there is a better system available as well.

This is not good.

Does not inspire someone who is leaning XBone.
