Just a note for anyone looking to buy. NowInStock.net is great. I set up alerts for the PS4 and today at lunch I got a text that Target released the two controller bundle online. Jumped on and am now the proud owner of a new PS4 to be delivered early December. Worth doing if fighting crowds or brick and mortar treasure hunting isn't your thing.

It's not really frustrating I just don't think it's worth it for me to run the TV through it. Once I recalibrated like Rob said the voice commands work fine. There is a lot to like about the UI but it is new and will have growing pains. I can see it becoming really good but at this point I don't need the features.

Yeah it's now my favorite. Barely surpasses the 360 controller and destroys the One. What a step back Microsoft made. It now feels just as cheap as the dual shock 3.

LOL. Yeah, she must be a ball of fun.

We now have a neighbor with a XBox One. It's getting closer to my home....hopefully, I'll get a chance to check it out soon.

Disappointed to see that no Best Buys near me have the Xbox One to demo. Only the PS4.

I would tell you it is not worth getting a Xbox One at this point if you have a PS4. The fitness stuff is a seller for my wife and me and Dead Rising 3 is pretty fun but I bought everything else on my PS4 and I'm very happy with it. I wish they would add Youtube support for game play videos and I wish the video editing was a little clearer but if I had to give one system back right now it would be the XB1.

Also as DB said the controller is far better on the PS4, the XB1 controller is cheaply made. My B button on mind sounds like it is cracking everytime I press it.

Keep in mind I've played zero online at this point, which could be a big factor.

Has anyone been able to activate these PS Plus cards on their PS4? I enter the code off on and hit continue and it just dumps me back to the main screen of the PS4. I have no idea if it took or not.

Is there a way to tell this?

Same at Target and Gamestop. Are there any playable One demo kiosks anywhere? I would assume Microsoft store. But I've been in a Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy and Gamestop in the last two nights and saw no playable Xbones.

MS released this afternoon on Ebay around 800 Day One editions and sold all them within an hour.

I keep reminding myself to wait knowing that the overall system and software will be stronger down the line. I really love the potential of the system though (voice commands, tv integration, etc).

I wonder if the controller can and will be updated over the next couple years, if there is a substantial amount of warranted criticism.

Dead Rising 3 looks like a lot of fun, as does Forza 5, although I much prefer Forza Horizon.

Titanfall may be my tipping point, but I'm really hoping that a few more yet unannounced titles will give me the confidence to go all in.

Overall, it sounds like both systems will have some growing pains, but have come roaring out of the gate in terms of sales, which is great for support from developers.

Gotta think eventually the Xbox One will start active demo kiosks, at least at Best Buy and Game Stop. I wonder if the Kinect voice command feature would have to be disabled though. It might create a little confusion or disconnect for the consumer. However, I'd assume most people through research are already aware of its functions. Hopefully, they show up soon enough as I'm itching to try it out.

I may be mistaken, but apparently the PS4 went on sale in 31 other countries today, which may be overloading the servers.

Since my 30 day free trial started on November 15th, I'm content with waiting until the 14th or 15th of December to start the one year membership.

I was able to enter card #1, so I'm good for a year, but wasn't able to enter card #2 without getting the boot.

I was telling the boys last night during our hockey poker night that if it wasn't for Live, Gears, Halo, Forza and the potential of Titanfall, my decision would have been to just go with the PS4. I am not a graphics whore, nor do I care that Sony has a slightly stronger hardware, but the fact that I have spent now two days trying to set up my TV watching is driving me and the Mrs nuts.

Tried different HDMI cables, the connection is thru an AVR and from there to my TV but I still get no video but just distorted audio.

My last resource is to change my TV box which is about 3-4 years old and perhaps is not decoding well with the Xbone, but that is going to cost me another 300+ for a PVR that has a 500GB HD.

As some have mentioned, I really like the DS4, it just feels so comfortable and within reach of what action you want to do with it, while somehow I keep missing the xbox home button as it seems to be slightly higher than the 360. A solid controller still, but not as comfortable as the PS4 which includes the nice touch pad option.

Might want to try to get a splitter to see if I can watch TV without having the One always on, (worry about potential lags what not), and while innovative, I feel that I much rather control my media with the controller than going over with the Kinect over the long run.

So I got both new systems now, and if the whole entertainment package is not important to you and you don't game online much, the PS4 is a solid choice this time around. Especially with the Plus service now, I see them catching up to Live sooner that what people may think and the free games are much more enticing that what MS is currently offering.

Yeah same here, it doesn't bother me the least. I still have a PS2 I still use to play some of its classic games. What the PS4 has going for it at least for me is how well games play and look on the Vita (NFS Rivals, Resogun, Contrast) and you can use it as a PS4 remote. It actually makes the Wii U, irrelevant. PSN is still hit and miss performance wise.

I have no doubt the X1 will have some classic exclusives and as bad as Forza 5 is wrt essentially a retail/freemium game I still want to get it. That game looks insane, i'll just resort to grinding lol.

I don't think it's bad and the buttons are basically the same except the home button that seems to be a bit higher, but comparing to the DS4 which has more features, it does feel cheaper and lighter than the current 360 controller.

And I know how important Ice Dragons will be to you, and I have to say that for me, the DS4 seem to fit more like a glove for my next gen gaming.

I've heard several reviews of the XB1 controller and I'm stating to wonder if there may be some inconsistencies in the manufacturing process. Many of the most-repeated complaints are completely absent from my experience.

My thumbsticks are not "loose" and do not have any dead zones. I have been bouncing back and forth between GTA and various XB1 games for a week, and once a game is up and running I feel virtually no difference between the two. The only things that reminds me during game play that I'm using a different controller are the rumble triggers and the higher placement of the Guide/Home button. I have no sense at all that the sticks are smaller etc.

Let me make this clear 99% of the experience is exactly the same for me with both controllers. Yes, the triggers have different shapes etc. But as I said earlier, all the differences melt away when the game is being played.

Prior to getting the system, I had totally dismissed the rumble triggers. Turns out I was wrong to do so. It's a very small thing that adds a great deal to the experience.

I've also heard people complain that the controller seems cheap or rattles when shaken. I hadn't noticed this, so last night I shook the $hit out of mine, just to see. Neither of them made a sound. On the GWJ podcast review (which I recommend, btw), they said they could hear the batteries rattling when playing Dead Rising 3, which has a shaking mechanic. No sign of that whatsoever in mine, no matter how hard I shook them.

I can't compare to the PS4, but as far as I'm concerned there is virtually no difference between the 360 and XB1 controller except for the improvement of the trigger motors. I've seen others here say otherwise and I respect those opinions, but this just hasn't been the case for me.

Please note, I'm talking purely based on my impressions while I'm playing. Obviously, if you put thet 2 controllers next to each other there are differences. But what the hell are you doing that for? Play!

The main complaint I have Rob is the clickiness and cheap feeling of the controller. Where the 360 was solid and didn't feel like you could flex it at all due to the strong/thick plastic, it seems the One went the opposite way (like the DS3)...thinner and lighter (probably because of the added weight of other things like rumble triggers). You can't keep adding stuff and making the controller heavier or people will REALLY complain. Sure, it's not QUITE as bad as the DS3, but it closer to that than the 360 controller.

The PS4 just got better in every aspect...and it NOW has the weight and hefty feeling of the old 360 controller, while improving absolutely everything about the DS3 controller. That is how you improve a controller...not add stupid rumble triggers (they are ok for Forza, horrible for NBA 2k14).

I can see where folks prefer the 360 version, but I really have had zero feeling that it feels cheap or too light. The bumpers were weird at first, but I got used to them in about a day. But the sticks and D-Pad are a huge improvement, and I have zero "clickiness" in the buttons. Everything feels solid a well built to me.

The DS4 is a great controller from what little time I put into it at the kiosks. The touch pad is dumb, and not something I would want in a controller, but everything else felt million times better than the DS3. Especially the sticks, which made games almost unplayable for me on the DS3. I can see what many, many people prefer it to both the 360 and XB1 controllers. But I game in the dark most late nights, and I really don't want a blue light coming ut of my controller, either.

The number one feature the DS4 has over the XB1 controller is the headphone jack in the controller. I would use that right now, especially since the redesign has made my Turtle Beach 5.1 headphones useless. The voice chat on the XB1 is huge improvement, though. And it is still a far better way to chat tun using the Kinect.

Also, I put in the cheap pair of AA's that came with my controller on Launch Day, and there have been no signs of needing to replace them. I bought the MS battery pack and cable for recharging them, but have not had to break it out yet. It gets pretty astounding battery life. And I had to wonder with the extra rumble motors they added, including on the triggers if it was going to eat batteries.

Some games actually put the touch psd to pretty good use. Madden uses it as a quick and easy way to call a time out. In Killzone, you use it to decide what you want that drone to do. Attack, hack a computer, shields, etc. FIFA uses it to switch the camera view.
