Re: NFL 2013-14
Good to see that goodell has chicken s*** penalties called on teams beside the Rams.
WTF was that 15 for? Cheap chickensit garbage
Shame!
The VERY SAME eagle eye ref who imagined that 15 yd penalty missed the most blatant penalty of the game.
Gotta hate it!

Re: NFL 2013-14
That's a major screw job.
1. Hard to say that ball wasn't catchable and P/I should apply.
2. Even if they thought it wasn't catchable, it's still clearly a defensive hold.
Given that the penalty in either case is an un-timed 1st and goal from the 1, they had two ways to get to the right result and missed them both.
I had zero interest in this game, real, fantasy football or otherwise, fwiw.

Its heart breaking!

You had to love how they had the former ref in the booth to confirm what goodell wanted. Brilliant!

To me it was holding which is only five yards. Either way as a dolphins fan who got jobbed twice against the Pats...f*** em.RobVarak wrote:That's a major screw job.

Still the old sack of s*** retired ref is still sticking to his imaginary story.
the nfl really has turned to s***.
Thanks goodell!

Got that one wrong. I could have sworn it was treated like P/I if in the end zone.dbdynsty25 wrote:

In any event, no multiplicity of wrongs makes a right. Terrible call. Bad for the league, even if it is the Pats getting hosed.

It could be. I'm not exactly fluent in NFL Rules (hell, I'm not sure the referees are either sometimes).RobVarak wrote:Got that one wrong. I could have sworn it was treated like P/I if in the end zone.dbdynsty25 wrote:

Re: NFL 2013-14
I do think that should have been called, but the refs have often been reluctant to make that kind of call on the final play of a game. I think if the ball had been closer to Gronk they would have called PI. Hard to say he could have come back for it as Brady underthrew him by quite a bit.
Re: NFL 2013-14
The other factor is, they already gave the Pats a PI call a couple of plays before and that was a borderline call at best.
So to give them 2 PI calls on the final drive, with the second one basically deciding the game, probably would raise a lot more controversy.
The Ravens held like a mother****** on the last play of the Superbowl and the refs swallowed their whistles so will they make game-deciding calls in a regular season game?

Re: NFL 2013-14
The Patriots held on almost every play of XXXVI so I have no sympathy for the cheater kings.
Still. That should have at least been holding.

Great no call..
only because it's the Pats

Re: NFL 2013-14
It'll be interesting to see if Tannehill is tipping plays prior to the snap.

Re: NFL 2013-14
Yes I realize Wallace has two long catches. But Tannehill needs to learn how to throw. Stop under throwing it.
Re: NFL 2013-14
Again though, they roll Tannehill out twice a d he hits Wallace both times. Yet they haven't rolled him out since.

Re: NFL 2013-14
XXXIV close your eyes...to the Bear fans here, what's the story on why Tressman refuses to give Forte the ball inside the 5? Today three passing plays then a Bush run. And I've seen this a few times this year as my brother in law is a Bears fan out here in New England. Just curious.
