Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
I think it all depends on the store. Some are obviously getting more than others. I'm sure if you call around, they might tell you how many extras they're receiving. Also, look at less popular stores, like K-Mart or Sears. They're probably getting less systems, but probably don't sell as many.
Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
I got smoked last night by a non-paying Ebayer.. my ps4 "sold" for 640 but he had 0 feedback and just registered Nov4... I doubt I ever see the money.. I don't ebay enough to stop that crap.. I know you can prevent that buy some settings from what I recently read.
I can risk re-listing and getting negative feedback if he eventually pays or just hold on to it...
I should have listed it on ebay last week.. or sooner..
My Xbox one auction ends tomorrow evening..
I might just end up keeping the PS4.

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
In terms of launch titles, I think I've narrowed it down to both/either Killzone and NBA2K.
Although I've drifted away from the NBA in recent years, the graphical prowess of the game might give me enough of that next-gen wow factor to make me happy. I will still be playing a lot of PS3 - have to finish GTA5 (about 60% left) and Walking Dead (same), so an NBA game might be a good balance in terms of variety.
If Killzone gets ridiculous reviews, it will be too hard to pass up at launch. Too bad us Canadians don't have any buy 2 get 1 free deals available (correct me if I'm wrong please!).

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
Best Buy will have a sale on games for $35 on Black Friday but I can't tell if it includes the next gen versions.
There is a footnote on the BF preview but they don't display the footnotes.
So there might be deals to be had if you face the BF madness.

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
I don't have a PS4 yet but I picked up NBA 2K14, Black Flag and KZ, $109 and no tax which is going to change next year when they open the warehouses in Fl.

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
I'm the biggest waffler in the history of wafflers. I literally cannot decide what I want to do with these new systems. So damn frustrating. Got both paid for and pre-ordered (as mentioned ad nauseam I'm sure)...but I really am coming to the conclusion that I do not need both.
The one game I really want, is on the system that I prefer less (Forza 5)...which makes little sense, I know. I know that I WILL have a PS4 at some point, because of the impending MLB The Show release, so I really have until February to pick that system up, but I much prefer the "just the games" aspect of the PS4. I won't use the Kinect (not enough room in my office) and I won't be connecting my DirecTV through it, so what's the point really?
To make matters worse, to get in on any of these buy 2 get 1 free deals, you can't really go cross-platform. If I were to keep both, I'd get NBA 2k14, Madden and Fifa on the PS4 and BF4 and Forza on the One.
I suppose the best plan of attack (the way I'm leaning currently) is to buy NBA 2k14 for the PS4, rent Madden and Fifa (ready to ship via Gamefly), and then use the system for a week. See if it really grabs me. Then pick up Forza and BF4 to go along with my One next week and then just compare systems. Then return, or sell, the one I decide not to keep immediately.
So yeah...that's my plan now, if anyone gives a sh*t. LOL...which I'm sure you don't, but this is therapy to me.

And Rod...2k14 is on the One too...and the only other game I really want is Forza. So it's seeming like I'll still go with my plan of attack (as of 10:12am on 11/12). Getting a PS4 before February is no problem if that's how it all shakes out.

I always said I'll get a next-generation console when I can walk into a brick-and-mortar and just take one off the shelf. That being said, if anyone is selling…..

I'm still good with waiting 6-12 months before picking up a next gen machine, if anything I'm tempted to go to Walmart on Black Friday with all the crazies to pick up another 360 for 99 bucks.Murph wrote:I always said I'll get a next-generation console when I can walk into a brick-and-mortar and just take one off the shelf. You're in a similar quandary I found myself in a few weeks ago until I cancelled my PS4 pre-order. I know the PS4 is easily the more powerful system, but at launch the games I want to play are on the XB1. As good as Killzone Shadowfall looks at the end of the day it's still a Killzone game which is at it's best a B-tier shooter (I know, I own Killzone 2 and 3). I'm not interested in Knack. Whereas on the XB1 I'm interested in Forza, Dead Rising 3 and BF4 and for me the controller is a big feather in the XB1's cap.
I will still definitely get a PS4 at some point but probably not until a game comes out that I really want to play (Infamous: Second Son). In the meantime I think I'll be fine playing XB exclusives and I'm not too assed that the multiplatform launch XB1 games run at a lower resolution than the PS4 (since games on my PC look better than both of those systems).
[This is also me thinking aloud to try to convince myself I did the right thing. I will need to repeat this to myself come Friday when everyone is unboxing their PS4s and I'm jealous

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
It's good to know I'm not alone, lol. I think that's why I never cancelled either of the systems. At least I'll get a PS4, pick up NBA 2k14 and rent a few other games to get me to the 22nd and the Xbox One. Then I can just return or flip the PS4 (assuming the One is all it's cracked up to be).Macca00 wrote:[This is also me thinking aloud to try to convince myself I did the right thing. I don't have either system on pre-order, but the above sounds like my take on things, verbatim.Macca00 wrote:You're in a similar quandary I found myself in a few weeks ago until I cancelled my PS4 pre-order. So I'll be looking to get in on one of the next available batches of XB1's and saving the PS4 until 2Q14, or so.
Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
Maybe this may help somewhat the undecided. For the record I am getting both consoles. Most wanted titles for me on the X1 are Forza 5, next year's Titanfall and the Halo franchise in terms of exclusives. On the Sony front, the MLB franchise is a must for me and I will be getting Killzone for sure. Also, really liked the feel of the DS4 controller.

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
Yep, I was going to do the midnight release thing and stand in line for a PS4 since I didn't preorder one, but the more information I see and more videos I watch--I'll just wait until I can walk in and buy one, which will likely be after the XB1 releases. If I find that all of my games run fine on that, I'll just be content with it for a while.
I have no idea what to think still, which is a testament to what a sh*tty marketing job these guys have both done this cycle. We're 3 days from release and I've seen nothing that sells me of one over the other at all.

Anyone know if Amazon is doing the B2G1 deal for XB1 games? All I can find is for PS4.

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion
Just got back from Target with NBA 2K14, Fifa 14, and then I just couldn't decide......AC (never been a big fan of the series), BF4 (not a huge online player...wonder how the SP mode is) Madden, Knack (Sony exclusive)....so, I went with Madden with the idea of not playing that game Friday, or at least until I see actual gameplay footage and hear enough reviews and impressions. The sales guy assured me that I can switch out Madden for another game if I so choose. Maybe, I'll go with KZ or NFS.
Tomorrow, the embargo is lifted so hopefully we'll have a better idea what the best reviewed games are. I'm definitely enthusiastic and comfortable with my purchases of NBA 2K14 and Fifa 14, and slightly excited about playing Madden on the PS4.
Only three to four months until MLB 14!!!!
