It's been a fun ride, that is about to get bumpy. They 9-0 versus all under .500 teams. After the bye week, they get Denver twice in three weeks, and still have the Colts and two games against the Chargers.MizzouRah wrote:

I don't think they have shown to have a good enough offense to get through the playoffs, but that defense can turn any game.

Yeah, I'm excited for the Broncos game.. really get to see where they are at. This is the NFL though.. 9 wins is very impressive, doesn't matter who they have played.Aristo wrote:

Re: NFL 2013-14
Nice sack to knock out Rodgers and give us a chance.
Officiating was horrid, I don't think the Packers had a single penalty called against them. I can't recall the last time I saw a game where a team had no penalties.
Conte and Wright could be the 2 worst safeties in the league.
I think Jay should take another week to heal, I did like how into the game he was though.
I'll happily eat crow for one week if it is the result of us beating the Packers.

Holy crap, that night really couldn't have gone any better. That was a win the minute Rodgers was crushed. The rest is just gravy. I've been waiting for years for that hit. It was long overdue.

Can't agree more +1. Loved seeing a Packer QB bite the dust. Green Bay is about to find out in the worst way how one dimensional that team is.ScoopBrady wrote:That dates back to the Favre years for me.RobVarak wrote:Holy crap, that night really couldn't have gone any better. Regardless of how the Bears actually finish, I really enjoy watching Trestman's offense. Love how aggressive they came out and didn't shy away from attacking through the air. The final drive was just epic.
The defense was appalling for much of the game, and the hole that opened on James Starks's TD run looked like something you'd see in an DI vs. DII college game. But they also battened down the hatches and played well for the last quarter and a half. I think Lovie's teams would have crumbled after the onside kick, but there's a confidence that Trestman has instilled in this team that I really like.
The Detroit rematch will be a real test to see where this team is at, regardless of which QB gets the nod.

Re: NFL 2013-14
The biggest problem with the defense is at safety. Hurting up front exposes them more but those 2 guys, especially Conte shouldn't see an NFL field next season IMO.Brando70 wrote: The defense was appalling for much of the game,

Re: NFL 2013-14
Good news on the home front...my neighbor, Matt Stankiewitch (C at PSU last year), got the call from the AZ Cardinals last night. He's on his way out there for a physical and workout. Hopefully he can get on their practice squad. He made it all the way to the final cut with the Pats but was released. Great dude. Hope he gets a chance.
