Is it just me or did they really improve the momentum physics? It's a lot more difficult to play defense in that regard, and to do a lot of the quick cutting dribble moves with lesser offensive players. Definitely an improvement, even tho it's a subtle one. Or is it just me? LOL.

It's better for sure, dribbling is harder to do even with the top boys, and passing not as precise.

Three games of Online Clubs and I'm very, very pleased. The gameplay is slower, the animations and physics are better and the online play is lag-free and butter smooth so far. Most importantly, I feel like they might have gotten defense back into the online game for the first time since they changed the defensive mechanics a few years ago.

Very early days, but I'm excited.

I agree Rob, played with the boys last night and had a blast, it plays a real good game, its almost like you have to play decent football to advance up the field i was able to get tackles in as a DMF, win headers, the AI are very competent so far.

We've been screwing around a lot with formations, so there's no problem there at all. Neither Forensic nor I have felt comfortable playing Any yet, but I'm getting a bit bored without one. I feel like it turns into a game show with everyone trying to beat everyone else to the pass button every time it falls to a CPU player. Doesn't result in very good football. I wanted to get some more games under my belt before I do though.

I haven't played much online, but it seems like the trick this year is to avoid using any of the tackling buttons as much as you can. It's pretty easy to dispossess with a shoulder tackle or by standing your ground, so I pretty much never use the standing tackle or pull-back buttons and only rarely use the slide tackle. We'll see if this stands up when I start venturing online more, but it's probably worth a shot.

I am having mixed success in FUT this year. Definitely not a given to get that W when you want to move up in a division especially when the headers are so bloody accurate . I like to pass a lot, so I've been mixing my formations in a 3-5-3 play or the new 4-1-2-1-2 wide. Another formation that may work for online games is the 4-3-3 (2).

Is it me or do crosses work too well in 14 default pro? I think in 12 and 13 combined I had only 5 or 6 total successful crosses. In 14 its like I can score 50% of the time in them.

I actually don't mind. It makes the game more fun for me.

I agree about crosses. I'dadd in corners too.
Scoring from just outside the box also seems to work better than last year.

Its like what ever extra they gave too defending on the ground(which is improved) they took away from defending in the air.
It is really noticeable online where even a human controlled player just doesnt jump sometimes , its like if your not in the exact spot for the header then nothing will happen, stopping you from jumping even. if im in the vicinity my guy should at least be able to jump and maybe put of the attacker.
Its like all or nothing , no little deflections its perfect contact or zero contact.

The more I play this game the more I sense that something's just not right and I can't put my finger on it. In ways the game seems scripted, particularly with passes to players making a run which often times seems to have a predetermined result regardless of human action. Yet, there are other times where results of attacker / defender encounters seem to be completely random. Offline i'm playing on world class with careers started with Motherwell and Milwall. Quality chances are rare and rewarding. I'm not seeing too much success from crosses at this level.

Online we've been playing co-op seasons mode and i'm seeing a lot of teams working the wings and going for the cross. Success from crosses may be a tad high as mentioned. We've also seen a lot of top teams in this mode (no surprise) and finding similar lower level teams to play can be an issue. last night we ran into a couple of guys playing as Brazil and they were insanely good..They dropped 7 on us and the game wasn't even that close. Goals were going in from far and near and Neymar dribbled around everyone to the point of almost being unfair. There's also plenty of people timing runs off of set pieces and goal kicks that can lead to their attacker being alone with nobody around them.

Co-op seasons is pretty cool. We've learned to use clubs closer to 3 stars if we want to avoid the 13 year olds who can do every skill possible with Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar.
