Well unless UPS makes a late evening delivery, it looks like I'm not getting my game today. Had it preordered from amazon and paid for the release day shipping and it didn't make it today.

A) you could buy it at a best buy or something and then return the amazon one to them for the refund once it arrives. And,

B) won't it be nice with the Xbone when this wont be an issue anymore? When you'll already have it on the HDD with the early season pass, and the full version will just unlock once you've paid for it?

I won't be online tonight (USA vs Mexico) but I created my guys and played one drop in game. Way too many stupid fights. I just stood around as guys paired up three or four times throughout the game. It seemed once one fight started, other guys just couldn't help themselves, which of course prolonged the whole process.

Otherwise what sees different to me I liked. Long passes seemed tougher to trap. Players seemed more full of momentum, all to the good. Hitting, while still too hard and in need of some help IMO in terms of targeting, was much better

But then again everyone in the game was rated between 55-61 so I imagine that had a lot to do with the different feel. Meanwhile, I was excruciatingly slow! But I felt like I could do pretty good defensively by being in the right place. Outside of totally whiffing on what should be easy checks due to the divorce between camera angle and stick accuracy.

Anyway, here's to yet another in a long line of 10+ month Ice Dragon seasons! The journey begins. Again!

Ok boys, I'll be on in about 30 minutes. I can't start gaming so early in my western time zone but hey it's hockey. Skipping my dinner for some Ice Dragons whoopass.

Anyone going to be around tonight for some Dragon action? Zeppo and I picked up a nice 3-1 win today and looking forward to keeping the winning streak going. I'll be on and off all night so let me know what times you boys might be around!

I apologize for my bitter attitude last night fellas...had a bad day. My classroom has been 88 degrees so i was stressed and I was looking forward to a nice relaxing win or two to finally level up but then THE BS STARTED AND SON OF A...never mind, never mind...deep breathes...channel Trane's positive outlook...channel....channel...GODDAMN!!!....flatline. :).

I promise to tone it down in our next session.

No.

It started with three of us, but Zlax got booted near the end of the first period, so it was too late for us to bail. So Rally and I had to complete the game ourselves.

No intentional two player games for me. I'd rather play head to head.

Sadly the highlight of the night.

I think we can agree the matching system leaves a bit to be desired at this point. But in reality we didn't play all that poorly against those two teams sporting 70+ guys across the board. Inevitably though their speed killed us.

And thanks to Naples for stepping between the pipes. You're a better man than I.

Yes, the 8 goals against was completely unrepresentative of my performance

Now don't get the lynch mob out on me for saying this, but has anyone considered buying a boost pack? AFAIK, it's like $3 for a superstar level player. I don't think it's the worst investment if you play EASHL all the time. I bought one for my goalie last year because your goalie starts out so awful. I know it's the principle of the matter, but just sayin'...

I wouldn't fault anybody for this as it is extremely discouraging to be at such a disadvantage against leveled players. And last year the only one I bought was a goalie as well (though i almost never used it). Plus, when one considers several folks pay for Season Pass, what's three bucks in a game we may well play for 10 months or so?

That said, and perhaps a little embarrassingly, this is the third year now that I'm grinding out packs and boosts via playing a gimped Rookie mode against the CPU. It's tedious and probably takes longer than would justify just paying a few bucks for one or two packs, but I've already unlocked about 9 boost slots and several +5's and +7's. By the time I'm done, I'll also unlock the Sniper, TWF and OFD packs. I'm hoping that'll help level the playing field online until I can level up.

Good suggestion. I will spend it on a speed boost, something we all seem to lack.

At the beginning of last years game I bought a sniper boost pack that puts you at an overall 65, but once you level up you can't add any attributes to that player if you have a boost pack so it was better to just buy individual boost slots and +3's or +5's although the goalie boost pack is probably a good one to get. I'll probably buy a few +7's early on and play through the be a pro offline to hopefully gain some boosts there instead of doing the drop in games with the idiots.

Am I correct that the "Division" set up is supposed to even the playing field this year? So while we may be on the receiving end of some butt whoopings right now, those teams should be out of hair not long from now right?

Not saying we shouldn't make an effort to level up, just wondering if I'm understanding the design now.

I had this crazy idea that if we started playing from the beginning we would be on an even playing field...Confirmation of my insanity.

To see the ratings and goals/points of some of these guys in just a few days is mind blowing.

From SOUTHPARK ....How do you kill that which has no life?

ANYWAY.

I love this game :P
