Battlefield is looking pretty good too. It looks like there is a day night cycle or a storm event as the video progresses.
I already love this map with the multiple islands. Reminds me of those Pacific maps in BF1942/1943, only better.

According to IGN Titanfall will make you buy a XB1. It's a system seller. Any word yet on what the PS4 system seller is?

Re: New Xbox AND PS4 Info/Rumors
Not sure what the PS4's system seller is at launch, but MLB The Show 14 and anything Naughty Dog puts out is a system seller game for me. Titanfall indeed looks very impressive (and it could be the next Halo or COD), but it's not my kind of game. I'm willing to wait on the games.Danimal wrote:According to IGN Titanfall will make you buy a XB1. It's a system seller. Any word yet on what the PS4 system seller is?

Out of the gate, MS looks to have a more solid launch than Sony, but I'll roll the dice as I have stated more times than I can count, Sony's exclusives appeal to me far greater than MS. The only game I'll remotely miss on the Xbox 1 is a sequal to Forza Horizon.

Re: New Xbox AND PS4 Info/Rumors
Per one of the lead artists on Titanfall speaking to Eurogamer:
Regarding the possibility of Titanfall on PS4, he said: "It's definitely not out of the question, we have a huge appreciation for the fans. Coming out and showing it to everybody, we're super nervous and wanted to make sure everybody loved it. We love all our fans, whatever console they support. So yeah. We want to make everybody happy, but this is where we're at right now."

Re: New Xbox AND PS4 Info/Rumors
TitanFall does look awesome but it's not a launch title...correct?
I was looking at the PS4 launch titles and the list really didn't excite me. Yes they have BF4 & COD but any game that is predominately multiplayer I look to MS. Their online is so much better than Sony's.

Re: New Xbox AND PS4 Info/Rumors
First my question was legit. I wasn't sure what Sony game was getting the buzz. My PS4 is a Watch Dogs bundle and only because I figured I needed a game to play with it.sportdan30 wrote: Not sure what the PS4's system seller is at launch, but MLB The Show 14 and anything Naughty Dog puts out is a system seller game for me. Also no offense but MLB The Show may be a system seller for you but for most people it won't be. Baseball games don't sell systems and out of curiousity what would you expect to see in a PS4 version which would make it a system seller? Couldn't you continue to play it on the PS3 and save money.
I'm curious but online immersive shooters are not your cup of tea and Sony exclusive are more to your liking. Outside of Naughty Dog what type of exclusives are you talking about?

Re: New Xbox AND PS4 Info/Rumors
Article with graphs of the announced titles. Not as much multiplatform overlap as you would expect:
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/08/b ... -showdown/
In the graph of games by genre, it shows PS4 with 4 and X1 with 7. What are the 3 additional sports games that X1 is getting? Maybe some Kinect-related simple sports games?

Re: New Xbox AND PS4 Info/Rumors
Bah, I decided to preorder both. I preordered Forza 5 Day One Edition but I haven't decided what PS4 game to get. I guess i'll wait for the reviews on those PS4 games. Amazon sent me an email that my PS4 should arrive Nov. 19th and i'm getting my XONE from MS.
Re: New Xbox AND PS4 Info/Rumors
That's the way I am going too. I have both systems now, so let's do part deux. One game I will be getting for the PS4 for sure is Killzone. For the next gen consoles BF4 and CoD look awesome too on either system so it comes down to online friends' choice.Rodster wrote:Bah, I decided to preorder both. I also have both preordered. My PS4 is scheduled for delivery on day 1. Amazon confirmed it with an email the other day. I'm not sure what game ill get for the PS4. Maybe WatchDogs. Ill have to see what the reviews are first. I'm sure they will be out a few days before launch. I'll probably grab at least BF4 for the XBone. Maybe one of the other launch titles.

I was thinking about buying Killzone 4 but that series bores me too much. I may have a look at Watchdogs, Drive Club or possibly FIFA 14.

Yeah I don't really get the appeal of the Killzone games, they have never done anything for me. Watchdogs looks really good to me.Rodster wrote:I was thinking about buying Killzone 4 but that series bores me too much. I may have a look at Watchdogs, Drive Club or possibly FIFA 14.

Re: New Xbox AND PS4 Info/Rumors
I think they will give you a version of Drive Club if you have PSN Plus membership but it won't be the same as the retail game.
If they packed in FIFA in the US, that would certainly close the gap in price for many who would have bought FIFA anyways.

I think Watchdogs looks awesome. I have a gut feeling, though, that it is going to be a huge turd. I'll believe more when I start seeing gameplay impressions.

Sorry if this has been answered, but I'm wondering if either system is going to be able to produce the graphic power to support the ultra Hi Def TV's starting to hit the market. There's that graphics whore coming out of me again
Re: New Xbox AND PS4 Info/Rumors
That's a good question but I don't think they are capable of powering a 4K TV at native resolution. I think they are best suited for 1920x1080 and at best most next gen games appear to be running at 30FPS. To power a 4K display you'll need a GPU like the GTX 770, 780 or Titan. The top end AMD cards could probably handle them as well.snaz16 wrote:Sorry if this has been answered, but I'm wondering if either system is going to be able to produce the graphic power to support the ultra Hi Def TV's starting to hit the market. I totally agree Aristo. For some reason I keep thinking the game is going to disappoint. It does look sick though.Aristo wrote:I think Watchdogs looks awesome. I have a gut feeling, though, that it is going to be a huge turd. I'll believe more when I start seeing gameplay impressions.

Re: New Xbox AND PS4 Info/Rumors
Wy is everyone saying they want watchdogs for the PS4? Is it just to have a game on that machine, because it's not exclusive and will also be released on the Xbone. Or am I misreading everyone?Aristo wrote:I think Watchdogs looks awesome. I have a gut feeling, though, that it is going to be a huge turd. I'll believe more when I start seeing gameplay impressions.
I'm not sure what games I'd get for PS4 to be honest. Maybe Killzone just to have something and to try it out, but I've honestly never really played any of them. Drive Club I will get if reviews are any good, but beyond that I don't see much for PS4 that's too intriguing. I'm assuming the D/L only games are all basically XBLA-type games? As opposed to full-power PS4 games?
For the Xbone I'm really looking forward to Forza 5 but truly hope they support more than six or eight cars for online races. Battlefield 4 will be Xbone for me. I'm sure I'll get FIFA and Madden (I will have to look into this GameStop deal but honestly I think we will be sticking with 360 for the Madden league so I don't know). Ryse could become more intriguing as we learn more, but at E3 it didn't look like too great a game, while it did look like a fantastic tech demo.
Watchdogs is a wait and see for me. I agree with Aristo and am not convinced it'll be a truly good game (it looks like one heck of a movie, though), so I will wait for reviews etc. I have no idea what LocoCycle so I'll have to look into it. Assassin's Creed is a series I've never gotten into after my first few hours trying out the first one which just didn't grab me. But maybe the launch of a new console is the perfect reason to try IV, although it does look like I'll have a number of pretty good games already.
I do wonder what will be going on with the Xbone's XBLA. As opposed to the "digital download only" list for PS4, we haven't seen anything, have we, about what will be available at or soon after launch of the XBLA. Maybe I just haven't looked in the right place.
As far as preordering games, I have no interest. These days I've found that stores just don't sell out anymore. I can always go to Best Buy if need be, and they don't ever seem to be sold out of the new releases. Also I am leaning towards doing D/L for a number of games so I feel no urgency whatsoever to decide until the last second what games to buy.
Re: New Xbox AND PS4 Info/Rumors
I have both pre-ordered. The Microsoft policy changes had it back to 50/50 (I don't mind Kinect being included and paying for it but I really didn't want to be forced to lug the thing around as well as the power brick when I move the system from my basement TV upstairs), but my near-launch PS3 just died this weekend so that might swing things back in the PS4 direction as I won't have the option to just play The Show on PS3. I might also pickup both and just sell the one that can bring the largest return on eBay. Who knows?
I've been playing mostly sports games so the launch lineup really doesn't matter too much as I will probably just go with FIFA, NBA2K14, and maybe just one other game.
One thing that really interests me is the Suspend feature of PS4. I'm assuming that it is like the PSPs. That will be great for me. Does Xbone have the same thing? Can I be playing Madden, suspend the system, and pickup where I left off without worrying about whether or not developers include it in their game?

Re: New Xbox AND PS4 Info/Rumors
It appears the XONE does use a giant PSU. I guess one advantage is it cuts down on heat inside the machine.
It looks like the PSU might inside the XONE, can't really tell.

Big fan there. If it keeps it quiet, like other consumer electronics under your TV, that's a big advantage.
But since they want to keep it on all the time, waiting for speech commands, it would have to be quiet.
