I don't see why they can't finish among the top 6 in the EPL. The addition of Bony should add some offensive power and I still expect big things from Michu. They should add some depth in their blue line but the midfield is solid. They played well I thought vs ManU especially in the first half, but RVP is in another league of his own.Jimmydeicide wrote:If i was a guy looking for a team to support with no ties to anything i would go for Swansea. I didn't make out until the absolute end of the LFC match. Had a good run at the tables Friday night, so there was no way to make the early kickoff without sacrificing the rest of my Saturday.Jimmydeicide wrote:How was the game in Vegas Rob? much interest?RobVarak wrote:Their new version of MoTD was outstanding.fsquid wrote:The NBC coverage is nothing short of fantastic
There was nobody in the sports book at all for that match. There were about a dozen people with me watching the Arsenal and ManU games, but nothing crazy. OTOH, this was at the Hard Rock, not exactly the premium sports betting location in town. Most of the knuckleheads that comprise their target demo aren't really the footy type to say the least.
The great news is that they let us call the shots on the screens. They'd put whatever game we wanted on whichever screen, and turn up the audio on whichever game we preferred. That was quite choice.

Any new Premiership fan with half a brain will avoid supporting Newcastle like a flesh-eating virus. Only delusional morons like me would continue to support that mess of a club.

Although I'm saddened of his departure.. Tottenham should be able to get a player or two this season and more next season with all that money.10spro wrote:Looks like G.Bale will have to learn some Spanish this coming season.

It still boggles my mind that NBC is providing us the English Premier League version of NFL Sunday Ticket -- televising EVERY MATCH in HD -- this season for no extra cost, at least not for TimeWarner.
Fantastico!

I know its brilliant isnt it but does pose a problem when you want to dvr the other games i dont think they make a box on any system that records that many HD programs at oncepk500 wrote:It still boggles my mind that NBC is providing us the English Premier League version of NFL Sunday Ticket -- televising EVERY MATCH in HD -- this season for no extra cost, at least not for TimeWarner.

At least i can watch all my Liverpool games this season without paying fox 15 bucks extra.
Im loving my Uverse switch so far. (from dish)
Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
Mancini probably enjoyed that one.
I wish I got that for free on FIOS, but the games I have got to see on NBC and NBC Sports are much better viewing than FSC provided. Their picture was always glitchy for me in HD; sometimes it was so bad I was forced to watch the games in SD.pk500 wrote:It still boggles my mind that NBC is providing us the English Premier League version of NFL Sunday Ticket -- televising EVERY MATCH in HD -- this season for no extra cost, at least not for TimeWarner.

Show up at Old Trafford with a ridiculously good attacking squad. Leave your best attacking player on the bench (and don't even bring him on) and play with 4 defenders, 6 midfielders and no forwards.

Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
I know Macca very strange squad choice. Is he that arrogant to risk losing the game to show Rooney he has a spot for him or was it we have 6 other players at any given time that can play your role wayne.
Not to even dress Ba and not give Matta any time is strange.

Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
If JM wanted to clog the midfield, not dressing up BA or bringing late Torres may makes sense to some but the one that raises eyebrows is Mata sitting on the bench. Shrek was dangerous all night, doubt he's going anywhere.
So is Spurs going to match the 'Are you out of your mind' offer for Bale?

Spurs sign Erik Lamela from Roma.....man....it is difficult to put into words how jealous I am of this signing.
I can only hope he is this decade's Ricardo Quaresma.....
