Just a heads up if they ever send it your way...Stella Artois 4% is absolutely rank. Bought some on special offer, and now I can see why it was. At least normal Wifebeater tastes of something, even if it is something you'd rather not know the identity of.

Now I remember why I stopped drinking any lager other than Paulaner...back to the good old ales (Golden Champion is a lovely one if you can get hold of it) and the weissbiers.

Picked up a case of Moosehead Light this week on a whim and I am really diggin' it. I always liked Moosehead so it was an easy decision. I got a free T Shirt too :) Thumbs up.

I cant stand Michelob beer, but I think Shock Top isn't bad at all. Probably one of the best beers you can buy at a gas station :)

I would be ecstatic if craft brewers never created summer brews. Just give me the heavy, dark, caramel, porter, stout, triple bock, IPA, uber-malt glory of winter beers 365 days per year, and I'm set.

Take care,

Crazy talk. There is definitely a right way to do beers with fruit flavors, and when done right they're fantastic. Porters and IPA's are my two favorite styles, so I know where you're coming from, but there are a lot of great favor profiles available from incorporating fruit into beers.
Agreed, no reason why fruit can't go in beer. There's a brew pub down the street that makes an amazing blueberry beer -- a Belgian white with real blueberries in the glass. There's just a little bit of fruit flavor so it's not too sweet.

Point Biere from Stevens Point Brewery in Wisconsin is another good one. Belgian white with just a little hint of orange to it.

My personal favorite summer beer is Bell's Oberon from Bell's in Kalamazoo, MI. Very tasty yet not heavy, and it works with or without an orange slice.

Have you had the Cane and Abel? That sounded intriguing to me.

It's great. Seriously, haven't had a bad brew from them yet.

While not classified as a beer I had a chance to try Angry Orchard's hard apple cider, good stuff. The crisp apple version taste like spiked apple cider, has about 5-5.5% alcohol and it's a clean taste. It's pretty smooth stuff and supposedly there are two other versions. It's made by the same brewery that makes Samuel Adam's.

I also tried Redd's Apple Ale, that's not bad either but the hard cider is much better.

I've got a fondness for most anything Sam Adams for the everyday beer. The Summer Ale has been a good companion this year. Love some Fat Tire. I always try the local brews wherever I happen to be, as well. Really, local microbrews are some of the best beers I've had.

Real Cider is not for chicks its called looney juice as even the most docile man will want to fight after a pint of it, id like to be with you for a night on cider now that would be entertainment. Hawthornes and Strongbow ive seen here .
On a side note with Beer , stay away from Australias "good head" beer, my wife found it real cheap some where and 8 pints later after a night of NHL with the boys i was pissing the bed and walking around my closet closet looking for the bathroom  ... She wont be buying that again

As Growlers have just recently come to my neck of the woods, I have tried several micro-brews that are pretty good. Southern Tier Unearthly IPA, Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, Founders Red’s Rye PA, and the only "fruit" beer that I have ever liked, Southern Tier Pumking (tastes like a liquid Pumpkin Pie, but with a nice kick to it).

Famous Joe's Pizzeria here in town has a fantastic, fantastic local brew called Knickerbocker Red. Joe's pizza is the bomb-diggity, but I couldn't leave without a Knickerbocker...lol.

My favorite, from a local brewery here in Michigan, is the Bell's Two Hearted Ale.

They also make the summer favorite, in which my wife will also actually drink, is their Oberon.

On a trip to the west side of the state, my wife and I visited their brewery. Neat place. If you are ever in the Kalamazoo area, stop in.

Don't know if you can get it in the States but if you can I'd recommend trying San Miguel 1516 (don't really like the standard San Miguel). Nice strong taste considering it's only 4.2% ABV. Won a prize at the World Beer Awards in 2011, though I've no idea if these awards are as really as prestigious as they sound:

Anytime "good head" is involved,I'm guessing most men aren't going to shy away from that

The funny thing is I really don't like regular Sam Adams or Fat Tire but enjoy most of the other beers they make. The Sam Adams Alpine Spring in particular is a great summer beer.

Also tried a very good local North Carolina brew, Wildflower Witbier from Natty Greene's Brewing Company, that was perfect for the beach vacation I was on. It was in between Blue Moon (which I find too sweet) and Bell's Oberon (which I love but is a little heavier for mass consumption). I will definitely get it again next year when I go back to NC.
