The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
Because nothing says "new season" quite like Rochdale 3-0 Hartlepool United. I suspect it's going to be a long one...

Is the signing period over?
There was talk about Arsenal getting Higuain for months and then Napoli signs him.
Now the talk is about whether Rooney stays at United.

Wednesday actually looked halfway decent against QPR in a 2-1 defeat. No worries, Joey Barton has already been booked this season.
Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
NBC Sports will have all the EPL games this season. Looking forward to it.

Me too. Living on the east coast is perfect for watching English football.Inuyasha wrote:NBC Sports will have all the EPL games this season. Looking forward to it.
Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
DirectV will have a mix channel I believe so you could watch all the 10am eastern games at once or just select a game a go to the proper channel
Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
Just did the math. I'm going to be in Vegas on Saturday. 445a.m. kickoff for Liverpool-Stoke. Ouch! That's nasty, even for my Vegas schedule.Feanor wrote:Me too. That's rough. The Premier League still has a huge following back home in New Zealand even though all the games are on the middle of the night.RobVarak wrote:Just did the math. Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
With the new season upon us and now being able to see every team every week here in the States, I think it's time to change support from Chelsea to another team. Since I got back into the EPL during the NHL strike of 2005, the only teams I really got to see most often were the big clubs so latching onto Chelsea just sort of happened. With being able to see all the games from every team, it's time to change it up. No more just watching Blue jerseys vs Red jerseys, I'm switching my support to the Yellow and Green of Norwich City.

If I didn't already have a beloved team, I'd probably watch the Stoke matches.
Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
Leaning towards Arsenal.
Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
What a bitchin day and week in soccer.
The US Altidores came back with 4 crackers vs. Bosnia and the Premier league kicks off in ten minutes.
So far so good on NBCSN
My fantasy team is ready to go.

Why subject yourself to medieval punishment from Mark Hughes? Nothing screams 0-0 or 1-0 like Mark Hughes and Stoke.fsquid wrote:If I didn't already have a beloved team, I'd probably watch the Stoke matches.

Benteke is such a beast, good luck marking him, Guzan made some incredible stops. Scary to see the Sagna fall. What Wenger needs is help in D, never mind up front.
Good win for AVL.

Yep. Good win for AV.
I do think Arsenal were unlucky but Im with their fans. They are cheap bastards.
Oh and I cant resist....Good to see they employ the optically challenged in England.

Yes!!!!Jimmydeicide wrote:Very impressed with the NBC coverage so far well done. Good opening day.
From the tunnel feed to the live feed after the games it's terrific.
I loved watching Villa go to the corner, throw their jerseys into the stands to their ecstatic supporters, including Lambert....class stuff. (While NBC's studio crew is voicing over instead of cutting straight to the studio after the match)
Much better than watching those dreadful commercials right after games on FSC.

If i was a guy looking for a team to support with no ties to anything i would go for Swansea. Good football some good talent and very competitive.
