Like the Perron deal. MacT got that one right.

Who the hell is Magnus Pääjärvi? :)

Perron needs a new team, he grew stagnant here in St. Louis. Great skill, easily gets knocked off the puck. I wish him well!

He's retiring from the NHL, which means he'll continue making his millions with the KHL.

Ilya being a team player.

Costs the Devils a first round pick for cap circumvention, contributes to Parise walking, and carefully timed until Clarkson has departed this offseason.

Oh, and the Devils will absorb a $250k recapture penalty for 10 years (at least it's not much).

T. Rask gets a nice 7 year contract reward.
Perron isn't adding size...he ain't big. Paajarvi is like 6"3 so they are losing size on that deal. Hard to judge the trade at this point but I'm glad we got the 2nd round pick.

The one thing that I've always loved about Perron over the years was his dedication and overall love of the game. I can't count the number of times the last several years where I'd be at the mall where the Blues practice facility is, in the middle of July no less and there would be Perron on the ice by himself. All the other guys on the team are vacationing or at their summer cottage and Perron would be in St. Louis working out on the ice by himself. I don't ever remember a player that had that kind of dedication and love for the game at least to where I was able to witness it firsthand.
