I'm actually leaning towards getting the PS4 first. I really don't want to be on the leading edge of whatever problems xbox one users may experience initially with microsoft's approach with the online connectivity piece.

Leaning towards Xbox One.

I have an Xbox One and 2 PS4's pre-ordered. Presently my plan is to sell the PS4's to pay for the Xbox One. The only game really pushing me to have a console at launch is BF4. I've been waiting a long time for 64 player battles. (I know I can now on PC, but I am primarily a console gamer.) After that the exclusives shown for Xbox were more appealing to me, but most of those aren't launch titles. While waiting for the big games to arrive, Xbox One will be more fun to play around with the multimedia features and new Kinect,

Voted None. For the first time in the history of consoles, I will be sitting this launch out. Mainly because the only game I have time to play is Tiger and it won't be a launch game. Plus, I have been spending what time I have to game, working on my IRL Golf game. Really enjoying my new clubs and getting serious about playing the real game.

Not leaning towards any console at all at this point as I want to see how things play out on both and by the time Next Gen Tiger starts shaping up, I will have a pretty good idea which direction I will go. If EA can ever get Kinect to track all or the vast majority of nuances in a Golf swing, that will sway me heavily towards the XBox one. Same goes for the PS4 and the Move.....

Leaning towards Xbox One, but only because of Forza 5. Adding open wheel (including Indycars), more Top Gear integration, more Rivals events, more realistic damage, etc. They are addressing/enhancing all the reasons that I love Forza 4/Forza Horizon. However, there are two big issues for me that could make me just take a wait and see approach. Number one is that fact that a good majority of my fun with Forza 4/Horizon is chasing down DSP regulars in Rivals events and challenges. If no one from here is purchasing Xbox One/Forza 5, then all the enhanced rivals challenges won't mean squat for me. :) Two, is the fact that Microsoft/Turn 10 have not yet stated whether or not Xbox One users will need to purchase new steering wheels to work with the system. My guess is that the answer is yes, we will which is why they are not telling us yet officially. More bad PR from Microsoft. I have an original MS Wireless Force Feedback wheel for the 360 and it has worked pretty well for most of the 360 racing titles I have used. I would much rather use my Logitech G27 and pedals that I use for the PC (and which I can use on a PS2/PS3), but the MS wheel has been a decent solution. While I have heard good impressions on what the new Xbox One standard controller can do, I just can't race without a wheel. Therefore, if MS "forces" me to purchase a new one for Xbox One, that may be just too much cost to justify a holiday purchase. $500 + $60 for Forza + new Steering Wheel (my guess is at least $100 as that was how much the old MS wheel cost) $700-$800 total. That would be one damn expensive game. I could upgrade my PC, or buy a new racing cockpit for that much. I am just not interested in any of the PS4 racing titles at this point. I would be mad if I had spent the $200 or $600 on the Forza branded Fanatec steering wheels only to find out that it would not work on the Xbox One. MS could have done a lot better job of communicating to consumers what all this stuff means.

Don, I'm pretty sure they confirmed old controllers will not work with the Xbone:

“Xbox One was designed from the ground up with entirely new technology to deliver a new generation of experiences for both games and entertainment For example, the Wireless Controller will connect to the console using high speed data transfer to enable higher fidelity headset audio and future controller add-on experiences that are not possible with Xbox 360 wireless technology.

I so much want a Fanatec wheel but the lack of support is driving me away from that purchase as well as the next generation consoles. If anything, I'd be leaning towards Sony as they aren't blocking out standard USB controllers and Fanatec has already indicated they are working to make their wheels support the PS4. It's ridiculous for a wheel specifically marketed with Forza 4 to gewt left out in the cold.

Predisposed to PS4, tend to prefer the first-party exclusives from Sony and like not having to pay for online gaming. One of the rumors about the next gen Xbox was DVR functionality. That might have made me switch but it didn't materialize.

The PSN Plus requirement would have made me hold off but I have some expiring Best Buy certs to use up so preordered PS4.

You realize you need to pay for online gaming now on the PS4. Sony finally adopted Lives model.

PS4 will still come first or me (not launch day though), but even without the MS backtrack, I'd still get the 'BOne anyway at some point.

Not really...I was eventually going to get a Xbox One most likely anyway, it'll just speed up the process. PS4 is still first. I pre-ordered a One as well, but most likely, I'll flip it on eBay or Craigslist just because I know they will artificially limit how many go out to increase demand. The Apple-Effect.

Edit: and clearly Murph and I are on the same page. :)

It just made me pre-order one quicker and really it had nothing to do with what they switched. The stuff they switched didn't bother me the Kinect did. However when I saw the rumor yesterday and oddly enough noticed Amazon suddenly had more for pre-order I figured I should get one and decided what to do later like everyone else.

I remember driving all over creation trying to get a 360 and I'm not doing that again.

I am just pre-ordering the Xbox One now. I had broken under the hysteria and internet mob mentality and also pre-ordered a PS4 in case Microsoft's strategy scared off too many consumers (I actually liked what they had to offer). I also have to cancel my Forza 5 pre-order because it was a disc based pre-order and I don't want to have to swap the disc in to play it. I will instead have to wait for my Xbox One to arrive on launch day and then do a digital purchase and wait for it to download to play it. I know it's a minor inconvenience but having the option to buy a disc, install the content, and then store it away was a feature I was really looking forward to. I know many are praising the choice they now have with disc vs digital with Microsoft's change in strategy but it really just removed choice for me. I will buy all of my games digitally now so I can have the best chance of having the features they were originally promising at some point in the future. I am a happy Steam customer and had no problems going fully digital with Xbox One.

I'm also worried about how the removal of family accounts is now going to affect game playing for my wife and daughters. The 10 family member sharing option was going to be perfect for us but I guess that is gone for now. Xbox, Xbox Live, and Kinect are still our family's platform(s) of choice and I plan to support them fully and hope they eventually work out a way to give us all of the features a fully digital system would have provided.

Points may not expire but the issued certs do expire, if I'm not mistaken.

I placed the order Saturday or Sunday.
