What do you think? They can't come out over $400 IMO...if they do it'll be a tough sell. Just ask the original PS3.

It doesn't bother me as much as it used to. If your buying all the systems, plus cable box and whatever else, its easier. Also, I could just give my 360 to one of my kids or stick it in another room if the next one were bc.

Agreed on backwards compatibility. It looks like they're going to have a used game market, but they're going to siphon off a couple bucks each time probably. Not a wholly unreasonable compromise.

Agree. I've never played an Xbox game on my 360. Not one.

Xbox One Does Require Internet Connection, Can't Play Offline Forever

The Xbox One doesn't have to be online all the time, but it does have to be online. Not just once in a while—once a day, according to Microsoft vice president Phil Harrison.

In a Q&A on their press site for the new Xbox, Microsoft tackles the always-on question with a strangely-worded answer: "No, it does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet."

At the event in Redmond today, Kotaku boss Stephen Totilo asked Phil Harrison for clarification on this. And what Harrison told us might not please people who enjoy playing Xbox on military bases or other locations without Internet.

"There are many devices in your life that require the Internet to function," he said. "Xbox One is no different in that it requires, at some point in the beginning and at various times through its on state, to connect to our cloud and to our Internet. That is to deliver Xbox Live functionality, that is to deliver download content to you, that is to deliver some of the innovations around TV and entertainment that we showed today. But it doesn’t require it to be online all the time."

God I can't f*cking stand bullsh*t game trailers that show no actual gameplay. Menas absolutely nothing. The trailers shown at this demo look absolutely no different to me than the current gen cutscenes and trailers.

Would probably be more than a couple of bucks.

EA charged $10 for the online game pass, if your original code was already in use.

Of course, EA said they're discontinuing it, probably because not many people bothered. Another theory though is that it basically discouraged people from buying DLC, to pay $10 for a chance to buy DLC.

Supposedly, in the next generation, "free to play" games will be more common. Seems like they're banking on DLC to provide a lot of their revenues.

Personally, I hate gametrailers at a console reveal. they are a waste of time. Show me actual features and and how the console works. I would have liked some Illumiroom info, and more discussion of the Kinect. the word is, the new camera is 1080p and will work in much smaller spaces, as well as sense much finer movements.

But I know the XBO is going to play games, and they are going to look "more better." Show me why playing it on this console is better than playing it on the competition's. The weirdest complaints I have heard is the lack of games shown. Is anybody actually concerned this might not have games? When a publisher has a trailer, I'll watch it when someone takes the time to post it to a forum I happen to read.
