It was great brother. PEI was awsome!!Weather was great, beaches had some great eye candy and the water was around 71 degrees.

We saw Nickleback and Default in Charlottetown on Canada Day. I am not a big fan of those bands but it was a blast. A band from NFLD named Crush opened the show and they were damn good! Much better then the headliners IMO. I went with Carol and my little sister(26) Amber.

I will pass on your greetings to the family, please do the same for me.

James you got it brother TCrouch thanks man, good to meet you.

James spending our money was a pleasure, Via-Rail was cool except for our return trip. We were 3 hours late from Moncton to Montreal,so we missed all of our connections.

We had to hump all of our luggage for the Toronto train and we couldn´t get a seat at all from Toronto to Windsor.

I went off on a Porter that got very rude to my father. My mom and pops are in their 70´s and this brother told my father that" it looks as if your ass will have to stand" when my dad told him there were no seats left on the Windsor train.

It was hot and my parents were very tired, I asked him who the F**K he was talking to like that, when he made things 100 times worse by putting his foot across the door of the car and blocking my wife and sons way on the car. He then screamed at Carol to get off the train that it was full and pushed her back with his foot.

At that point I grabbed him by the throat and pushed him off the train. He called the Transit Police and had us removed from the train. It was a nightmare! My mom was crying ,my wife was upset and my son thought I was going to jail. All the while I was trying to get my hands on this assh*le. My dad and sister just took it all in stride.

To make a very long story short,I didn´t get arrested,Via-Rail got us 2 limo´s and transported us to Windsor. They also took that Porter off the train and refunded us the money for the return portion of the trip. All in all they treated us very well. I hope they fire that assho*e. Enough of the bad stuff!

PEI is where my wife and I are going to retire,we bought about an acre of waterfront property near Cavendish. We are going to build a small cottage there. We got the land for about 11,000.00 US! A steal! We will be headed that way for good in about 15 years.

PEI is just an awsome place,I can´t describe how cool I think that island is as well as the people that live there. I will be one of your countryman in the future

I wish more Americans would go visit Canada this summer, instead of buying the crap the media sells them. Toronto dosen´t have people dying in the streets. Alot of people are losing money because of that crap, its a shame! Anyhow I have rambled way to long...peace.

PEI = Prince Edward Island.. a province of Canada.

PEI is shrinking!! It´s losing some of it´s size to coastal erosion each year.

"The soft sand stone coastline is still being worn off by wind and water erosion at the rate of .5 to 1.0 metres annually"

Hey Jack,

Welcome back. Glad our neighbor to the north and James E´s home and native land was a good time for you and the family.

I´m ready for football. Two weeks until freshmen and vets report to school.

College: Texas Tech (what can I say, I went there)

NFL: Used to like Dallas, but quit being a fan in 1989. Since I refused to follow Emmitt Smith to Arizona, I´m now a Steeler fan, since that´s what my buddies in town are, and I got invited to all their Steeler-watching parties. But I have jumped on the Mike Vick bandwagon too.

Regards to Carol and Dom,

College: Syracuse Orangemen
Pro: Buffalo Bills

Frankly, the only time I watch college football is Syracuse games. The Division I college game is meaningless to me due to the lack of a playoff.

You still have kids busting their asses for three months for nothing because a computer and overfed sportswriters are still determining who will play for the national title. With the way the BCS is set up, a team can lose its first two games, run the table with 10 straight wins against quality opponents and not get a whiff of a national title game because the computer says it can´t.

Let me pose this question to an Ohio State or Michigan fan, as I know there are plenty out there. Let´s say the Buckeyes or Wolverines lost their first two games and then ran the table with 10 wins in a row, including beating either the dreaded Fuckeyes or Pukerines, depending on which team you support. Yet you still didn´t get a shot at the national title despite playing the best football in the land in October and November. Would you still feel satisfied knowing you beat your archrival but didn´t have a shot at a national title while some team that lost only once but played inferior competition did play for the national championship? I wouldn´t.

Yet that´s what can and does happen in the current state of Division I college football. It´s a joke.

Would I have been happy with Syracuse men´s hoop beating the dreaded Georgetown three times this season but not getting a shot at the NCAA tournament? F*CK NO! Yet millions of college football fans have to suffer through the same scenario every year because of the lack of a playoff.

Get a playoff, and my opinion will change. Can you imagine Division I men´s hoop without March Madness? I can´t. Can you imagine how good college football could be with even an eight-team playoff? I can.

Bowls are meaningless, too, for three reasons. One, any winning team gets a bowl bid due to the glut of bowls. Two, the traditional conference matchups in the bowls have been destroyed by the BCS. Three, only one bowl -- the BCS title game -- is somewhat meaningful. The rest are just overhyped exhibitions feeding conferences and athletic departments obscene amounts of money.

Give me the NFL any day, baby! The ratio of meaningful games in the NFL is WAY higher than in college football, especially in the stretch run of the season when so many teams either are struggling to get in the playoffs or improve their position in the playoff mix. The playoffs are insane!

Plus, ignoring college football other than Syracuse saves my Saturday nights for watching English Premiership games taped earlier in the day!

OK, I´m done ranting. For now, that is!

Glad to hear you had a good holiday ! The title of your post made me think for a minute that you had ´seen the light´ and decided to follow the Premier League (proper ´football´), but then again I´m not sure the EPL is ready for ya !

Anyways, as for pigskin,

College - no prefs as I went to uni in England, but my NCAA 2003 efforts have led me to favour TCU, because their kit is a cool colour.

NFL - the future is orange and black, baby Looking for an 8-8 this season, then on to glory with Marvin Lewis. (Regular readers of my posts may have seen similar things last year, but humour me...)

Interesting to see if Akili Smith hangs on in Packland.

I´m with pk on the lack of a playoff being a fatal flaw. It seems to grate on me more and more each year.

I love the variety and dynamics of the college game though, so I can never leave it behind.

PK..The answer to your question from me is no. It would suck to see Michigan rip off 10 wins and beat the Suckeyes and not be in the running for a shot at the title.

I would give up my titanium leg to see a Div 1 playoff system. And what makes this all the more frustrating is that I´ll bet at least 80% of collage football fans feel the same way.

PK..Remember when the Wolverines payed a visit to "The Cuse"a few years back?

Dave I am ready for the EPL!! I watch it on FSW. Great footie!!I cant wait for 8/17.

I like Aston Villa(The Villans) I am glad they picked up Lee Grant. I meet him once at a Sade concert in NYC.

I´ll be watching your Bengals this year,it should be interesting.
Aston Villa ??? Why, oh why ??

Just kiddin´ - they are a proud old club with great traditions and a good squad, which David O´ Leary will soon screw up for them.

Rumour is that a Venezualan (?) billionaire is about to take them over, so good times may be ahead. Let me know if you want me to source you a Villa shirt.

Jack, welcome back from the Great White North. I´ve heard good things about PEI before, my wife and I will have to visit.

I´m starting to get the football twitch, especially with this farse known as the MLB All-Star game about to get underway tonight.

Anyway, college I have no preferences. I like Mizzou since I went to grad school there, but actually I´ve become a Northwestern fan after living in Chicago for a while. I like teams with players who can write their own names.

Pro: Bears all the way sad to say. This season will suck monkey ballz. The combination of Kordell´s decision making and John Shoop´s playcalling will doom us. We have crap CBs, the RB situation is sketchy, and got rid of the one guy who could rush the passer (Colvin). Thank God Urlacher gives us something to root for.

I also agree with PK´s sentiments about college football. Watch the DII or DIII playoffs, then try to watch the BSCS. I don´t think it will change either -- there´s just too much money to be made under the Bowl system, and it only requires teams to play one extra game.
