DSP - Golf League

Okay guys, I went ahead and created a tournament.

I know some of you are on tough schedules so I made the tourney a week long. In subsequent weeks we can adjust so that everybody can get in a tournament and the play can go quickly.

First Tourney-

I was just going off of John's recommendation a few posts back.

I didn't know how we wanted to handle the points.

It was posted as a public tourney, which means, anyone can join the tournament through the "join competition" link.

It probably would have been a better idea to make the tourney private and post all the info here. I'm willing to be most of those who have joined already have never been to DSP.

I'm just going to start a new post and a new tournament.

I thought this was like TW style tournament where you can join as long as the first round isn't completed.

I don't think I like the my XSN has set-up online tournaments but I'll get the hang of it as I go. So I apologize for the confusion and we'll get this straight.

No problem Jrod... growing pains is all.

I assume the tournament is to be played on "Advanced" level. Can you please post details about skill point limits?

Director's Cut? Man, that course is brutal. It's not even golf -- it's sheer torture!

Take care,

Well let me know what everyone's preference is on points. We don't have to have a limit. I just have a 7 power everything else is one character because I think it its the most realistic and relatively difficult.

Let me know what you guys think about setting up a league like this.

Thurs to Sun we play 4 rounds if it's stroke. And we register from Sunday to Weds since this isn't like links and I just can't post a password and have people join. And we don't want everyone and their brother here. Four rounds in four days is doable as I tend to get in 36 holes a pop when I play links.

I already have an idea for the British Open Tourney where you choose your pro at the British and you couple that score with your own at St. Andrews. I played in a few tournaments like that in real life and it was a blast. Except you can't pick Tiger for obvious reasons.

So for this week we'll still have it at O.M. Director's Cut because as unfair that course is, it reminds me of how sadistic the USGA can be.

I set it up and get it ready for Weds. If you have any suggestions on next week tournament please tell me.

Also put QuarterRod on your Friends and send me an PM if you want to play so I can put you on my friends list. Or post in the right tournament thread so I can get you into the tourney.

Jrod, you can post all the info in here for a private tourney.
Just check out the invite you send out to everyone, on there will be a link and password to the tourney's sign up page.

Copy and paste it right here and you're golden. Sure beats handling PM's and dishing out invites.

"Except you can't pick Tiger for obvious reasons. "

Why limit people from picking Tiger? Please, go ahead and pick Tiger... based on how he's played this year it wouldn't be the smartest pick.

New Tournament is posted.

Sorry about the confusion. XSN has made it like Fort Knox to get a private tourney going.

Unless I don't know what I doing, which is probably the case, It seems you get either a public tournament or the commish has got to invite everyone. If there's an easier way, I'll do it. Because the first tournament I set up, we had a bunch of none DSP'ers.
