My putting camera doesn't change that much so I can live with it.
Press the Start button, then resume your game and those issues should go away.

I was playing a country club tourny the other night and I saw HOGZ join in a few holes behind me. I finished -1 and he was at 16 at -1. It was cool to be able to spectate as he finished his round, especially since we were so close in score - real element of fun competition. Hate to admit, I really wanted him to miss the putt at the last hole!!!
Anyway, look forward to seeing you guys on the virtual links. Thanks for allowing me to join your country club.

Welcome to the forum. I've been away the last couple of days and I look forward to playing some rounds again when I get home. Despite some flaws, inexplicable overlays, a few audio stutters, wrong stats and questionable camera selection, this is the most challenging and fun TW I've played since 09 of the 360 console generation. Love the sim mode and will also play a lot of career mode once the patch comes out.

Looks like we have another elite player in the CC in you.

Welcome! Yep, I knew you were watching too…it added that extra dimension of nervousness. But I drilled that last putt dead center baby! 8) I'm still working on putting - I have missed so many birdie putts, especially that round. But I like that, the ball seems to roll much more life like on the greens this year.

I will probably get this soon, but in the past few weeks I have barely had time for gaming with trying to get the house ready for the bundle of joy. In an odd twist, I may have MORE time for gaming after the baby arrives. :P

Lately i've only managed to play MLB2k13 in 4 inning chunks!

Congratulations on the new baby, but how in the world will you have MORE time after the baby? lol

Thank goodness for in-game saves huh?

lol, I just mean the past month or so has been hell around here.... getting the basement done, stuff involving that, getting a baby room ready...... i'm just hoping once all of this is done, I'll have time with a sleeping baby to play! Maybe even on a new plasma in the new man cave. ;)

Anyone using Kinect with this years game? I wonder if that's improved at all......

Even last year by the time we got to the 4th or 5th event we were down to maybe 6-8 people finishing events. Most would shoot their +21 in the 1st round and bail. Which is the sole reason I didn't run one this year. So JC has the honor of owning the first and only DSP Cup trophy which I am sure he proudly displays in his garage. :)

I haven't had time to even turn on my Xbox in the last 4 or 5 days but what keeps me playing this year is the Live events. I actually feel like I can place in the top 10 on sim settings and have yet to see ridiculous scores. I'm holding off on SP until the patch but I'm a little concerned that it doesn't use the TPC pack downloads I bought.
You can't use dlc courses in offline career this year? If that's true why on earth would they remove that feature from the game!?!

Good luck with that. You think you're busy now...just wait. Been nine months since my son was born and I've gamed far less than any other point in my life. Your priorities just completely change. Just wait.

I kid you not, in last nights daily I drove a ball into the water on that hole that has the stream running across the fairway and the game put my drop in the water. I hit out of the f***in water!

smh

I hit into the same water and it put me onto the rock or whatever it is right by the water. Just said "Other" on my lie indicator, but I also couldn't see my ball on the strike meter....just had crosshairs. And when I hit, I couldn't see my ball until about 30-40 yards down the fairway, the follow cam was following it but the ball was not there.

Maybe it was a stone, it looked like water and when I hit my shot it immediately hit water skipped across and came out on the other side. I think EA really needs to improve this area of the game. With the new simulation setting more people will find themselves taking drops then before and its going to be an issue. If this where the real course, and assuming these were all red staked hazards our drops would be in the hazard line. Its crazy.

Welcome Snidely! What you've described above is what has advanced Live Tournaments to another level in Tiger 14. I've been aware of another golfer watching me a couple of times in open, connected tournaments and it does add pressure... I love it!

I still only have a rental copy of the game, and I just saw that the HE version I ordered from Amazon on Monday morning still hasn't shipped yet. That's unusual for Amazon, so I'm not sure I'll have it by Saturday now. My play time with the game is going to be very limited anyway until the patch is released. I just think we're going to have a much more complete game once it's patched.

Oh, don't forget our DSP Online League forum, where we have a DSP Tiger 14 league thread discussing our DSP CC play. It's found here": viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15920

Got my copy of the Historical Edition yesterday and I've had plenty of seat time with the Follow putting camera at the Augusta putting green. While I find it less desirable than what a head-high, Broadcast putting camera (the one used on the putting green, not elsewhere in the game) could have delivered, it's more than enough to salvage the game for me.

On the downside, having experienced the *almost* stationary Follow putting camera on the putting green, I'm now finding it even more difficult to bear the eccentricities of the Follow putting camera in the game. I know I'm a flake, but the game just feels incongruent to me with the current mixed-media presentation option called "Follow" camera The patch can't get here soon enough :)

I also picked up the Historic Edition.

Of course, I jump right in on Simulation at Augusta.

Some of my drives are off line but not that bad and would certainly be playable, but the game is telling me I hit it out of bounds. Anyone else having this problem?

This is a limitation of the VRAM of the current consoles. All of the area you "see" is not really there, at least in terms of playable space. Where the game can't properly render the location in which your ball actually should be (like on an adjacent fairway at Augusta, for example), it just calls it OB. They've done a little better at broadening out the playable area for some of the newer courses, but Augusta is full of faux OB zones. The devs say we won't be hamstrung by VRAM limitations in the next gen consoles, and this won't be a problem in the future.

Thanks for the explanation.

Makes sense. Frustrating as hell, but understandable.I think this game is definitely a take the good with the bad game at this point.

From tee to green, simulation sure is tough. Chipping and putting, not so much.

The game is $39.99 at Target this week for those that waited.

I had one of the strangest experiences ever the other night. I hit a ball near a tree and the game had to draw half my golfer in the tree. When I hit the ball I thought the game froze but since I was over half way done with one of the tournament rounds and I could hit start and the menu popped up I was reluctant to restart. The camera was also moving around the tree very slowly. After about 30 seconds I saw my ball slowly moving down the outside of the tree and so I held in Y and it moved a little faster until eventually it worked its way down the side of the tree after about a minute. I had to take my next shot where all you could see was my head out of the tree but I was able to get it back into play.

I'm still having a lot of fun despite the drop issues mentioned (in one of the daily tourneys it really screwed me because it put me in such a horrid position that I took 2-3 penalties and maxxed out) and the ease of the short game. The ball physics are really improved.

In the one day tourney last night...I hit a ball in the rough just off the fringe of the green, and it was called a lateral hazard (impossible). I was +1 through 8 holes...went on to get a 10 on that part 5 and it was ALL downhill from there. BRUTAL scoring error completely destroyed my confidence and my game. What a mess this game is.

Picked this up $40 target this morning. Few impressions :

I'm not a hardcore golf gamer like most of you. Just like a more casual type of game and primarily play offline.

Thus far this game delivers in that area for me. It's very easy pick up and play and really easy controls. I've been playing the legends mode and so far it's been great. That mode alone is worth the $40 for me.

If you have kinect and kids this is great. My kids love no controller and have been plying since I got the game. Nice the game has female golfers too if you have daughters/nieces.

Only one freeze thus far in legends mode. Was a bit disappointed it happened so quick. It was during the second legend game where you're challenged by the other golfer. On the 1 st course, when it was the cpu's turn to tee off, it's golfer got stuck in an animation where his whole left leg was having convulsions trying to tee off. Kids were cracking up so it turned out to be a funny family moment.

Pet peeve : I wish they had wailaie in here but looks like it is gone in 14. That's the only course I'd pay to buy.

Well for every hair pulling, controller smashing and salty language that's getting the wife's attention, there's a great fist pumping feel when a birdie is scored not to mention an eagle under the current sim mode. Just can't wait for the patch to arrive.
