Well I'm on XBL

Post by JRod »

Set it up tonight but no time to play...

Look for QuarterRod

PK, I sent you a friends thingie--just testing XBL out.

BTW I had to turn off WEP security to get it to work, how do I turn that back on and still have the online connection work?

I had to do the same. Instead of using WEP keys I just used MAC Address filtering. Does the same thing. All you do is tell the router which mac addresses that you want to allow (your Wireless Game Adapter, your PC Cart, etc.) then it will block anything that doesn't have that particular address.

If you got a Linksys router go into the configuration screen and go to the Wireless Tab. From there click on MAC Filtering. You'll be able to see all of the devices that are connected. Add them to the table and from that point on, it'll block anything that's not in the table.

Boom...security that's just as good as WEP...unless there is some spoofing going on, but that's neither here nor there. Better than nothing.

JRod:

Welcome to XBL. I'm in Indy for the U.S. Grand Prix until Monday afternoon, so don't take my lack of response to your Friends request personally -- I'm 700 miles from my Xbox, man!

I'll accept your invite when I return. Enjoy XBL!

Take care,
PK

Almost this entire board is pro-Xbox now. It's kind of amusing actually. When I first joined it was mostly PS2 (same with SR) and now it seems like it's doing a 180. Sure there are still guys who are hardcore PS2'ers but for the most part, the Xbox gets all the love here.

I've got no problem with that.

Here is what I have --

TOCA
ESPN Baseball - thinking of selling
Links - Would love to get some DSP Tournaments going.

Can't all remember right now... I'm looking forward to playing most of the ESPN and EA Sports games online.

Also I will be gameflying Indy Car.

Hey Jrod!

I just joined xbl a couple nights ago. I am having a blast with it so far. I would love to join a dsp tournament or even some match play. My gamertag is BuckeyeBengal. See ya.

Probably been asked before, but how do I get my Xbox onto a wireless network (now that I got my new laptop, I'm going wireless)

Welcome aboard!

I was very reluctant to go Xbox but since I did I haven't touched my PS2.

Feel free to send me an invite (laurenskye)
