I never said it would effect me. I bought the damm DLC last year.

I was just simply pointing out that EA used the reviews as an excuse and you can believe what you want but IMO they went to IGN with this information knowing full well IGN trashed the game last year for this reason (which makes no sense as we all know) so the announcement of removing it would be posted in a positive light from IGN.

EA willingly used the press to their advantage, good move on their part.

Unfortunately I no longer have my inside contact at EA who for years got me all the inside info on their games well ahead of the "press" so I'll be as surprised as everyone else with Madden this year. However speaking to him over the years I know what kind of company EA really is. Will it stop me from buying the game, not at all. However I'm wise enough to know what is going on behind closed doors to not even pretend that money wasn't the real reason.

Probably a good thing we don't know what goes on behind closed doors at EA Sports. I've wondered what happened to associate producer, Brent Nielsen? I saw him being interviewed a lot about the game last year and he seemed to have his stuff together. In the end, I just want a quality game that has options that work like they're supposed to. If Tiger 14 executes its design basis as I'm understanding it; we'll have the best console golf game ever made!

Yeah, I am surprised that we still have so little info about actual gameplay elements and features and updates compared to last year. TW13 was really my first true foray into console golf and between buying the collectors edition and all the DLC courses, it goes down as #3 all time on the amount of money spent on one console game (#1 is Rockband 3, #2 is Forza Motorsport 4). However, there are still courses to this day I never played in TW13, so I doubt I will spend as much this year on DLC. I still want to know about if there will be any decent Kinect integration (all the hype last year at this time), if the Country Club will have actual web based online capabilities for stats tracking as opposed to the horrbile in-game interface from last year, and if the "freezing" issues are resolved.

I don't know about him but the guy I knew never talked much about the TW team but he was involved with many of the other EA Sports line. I can tell you that they lost a lot of good people over there ins the last few months. You don't get the kind of rep EA has around the industry for no reason. My friend is at another company that doesn't produce as many games as EA but is well known and man is he happy. The downside is I no longer have inside scoop on Madden so I won't know ahead of time what the game is shipping with that is broken :)

Anyway this conversation is way off topic.

I'll still be buying the game if the game play is as advertised which for me is still a big if as we only have the devs and the community guys words on it at this point and neither of those holds much stock with me.

Has there been any talk of a demo?

Hopefully they can really do something special on the next consoles. I have a feeling they've got some ideas up their sleeve, but the current hardward will not allow it.

Tiger 14 will be upon us fairly soon and while we don't know all the details about the way Online Country Clubs will work this year, I do get the sense that they will have a lot more features. For one thing, it's already been shown that there will be a Country Club "Tour" this year. I think that would be a great structured way to handle a club season championship, for those who wish to compete in a season championship.

A built-in club tour would give us far more statistical details than most anyone like to track, and it should be real time! I'm sure also that there will be an ongoing stat point accumulating tool for the overall club leader all time and the "weekly" club champion and pros. We'll have room for 100 club members this year so I doubt we'll have to be turning folks away. Just wanted to get a feel for how many might be interested in this for Tiger 14? Dan has reminded me that if we get a quorum and want to start a DSP OCC for Tiger 14, we'll need to do that in the DSP league room accessible from the top menu.

I'm in and Danimal is in so far.

I'm most definitely in. It looks like they finally solved my biggest issue with the last two versions. It also looks like a CC tour may be more likely to be set up closer to what I had hoped would be default. Names, I would vote for Sim difficulty, but grids turned on. But I am willing to give the new gridless system a shot, as well as grids without beads.

My worry about gridless greens has more to do with time than difficulty. I really don't want to spend 75% of my time playing the game trying to read greens. Take away putt preview, and I will still miss my fair share of putts with grids and beads on.

I'm in again this year. :!:

I prefer Simulation but will go with what the majority decide.

It will be really nice if their is stat and win tracking. Keeping that stuff by spreadsheet last year was a major pia.

I would be in favor of Simulation difficulty myself. As for grids, I don't know yet. I'll have to play the game to see if perhaps beadless grids won't be my choice. Okay, we're up to four! :)

I'd be surprised if it isn't, they have it in their career mode tour, it would stand to reason that it would be in the Country Club tour. BTW guys, this probably going to get heavily into league play discussion, so I'll go ahead and start a thread for the continuation of this in the DSP Online leagues sub-lobby.

Here's the link to the DSP OCC/league for Tiger Woods 14. We should try to direct all of our league or DSP country club discussion there:

The Twitter post that Tiger Woods 14's senior marketing director Craig Evans made yesterday that made me think big news was about to drop today is now looking like he was referring to this as his reason for saying today was going to be "epic":

Yawn..... they're filming commercials today :|

I'll probably be back. I enjoyed TW 13 quite a bit.

I'm in and vote for whatever the hardest difficulty is with grids on.

I'll commit to being in, but I think we should take some time before we decide grids on/off/or beadless grids. If the demo has the ability to change grid properties, then that may be the best way to determine whether grids should be on or off before we start official CC play.

Thoughts?
