Oh and go OT game! ...That would rock.
I will settle for a close game.

Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
We have the first Harbaugh brain cramp of the day. Why not take the three and make it a 14 pt lead?
Anyone?
and now that TO call at 2:20....Hmmm.....
and a now a 21 pt lead.
Left Lots of time on the clock. Lets go Niners make it a game!

Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
Hope they make a game of it in the second half but at this point J. Flacco looks just awesome.
Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
Yeah . One thing is for sure Phil Simms is going to make us suffer for another two hours.10spro wrote:Hope they make a game of it in the second half but at this point J. Flacco looks just awesome.
Talk about worthless brain damaged waste of oxygen.
Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
My thoughts of new orleans as a rat hole are once again confirmed.
Epic fail.
EDIT: every 10-15 minutes they tell us it will be 10-15 minutes.
NO MORE NEW ORLEANS. Hold this s*** in a real city.

Goodell you da man!
My apologies.
Say what you will but he knows how to give us a game.
Edit: Wow : Simms not only an idiot but a f***in liar.
Edit 2: Now he lies again.
Wow. I wish nothing but bad things for him.
Edit3: I didnt want either team to win.... between my dislike of the niners and my dislike of the ray lewis but phil simms and the "power outage" have me rooting for the murderer....So it looks like a whiner victory
Phill simms you are amazing. you piece of s***.

Ravens!!!
Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
Too bad for the whiners as that will be their last chance. The Rams have their number and barring any bizarre "power outages", they will take the whiners down next year. All the way down to their stereo typical san francisco knees.MizzouRah wrote:Ravens!!!
Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
Fun game. SF really s*** the bed on that last drive inside the 10. The culmination of your whole season and you go with uninspired dive, roll out to cut off half the field and no hot read fade into the endzone? Very poor for an offense that was just on fire in the 2nd half.

How did San Fran not convert down near the endzone? Just poor poor play calling.

The Ravens were showing blitz before the snap, and they came with a vengeance. Kaepernick just threw it away . . . don't the 49'ers have a screen pass in their playbook? And yep, he could have just rolled out and ran with it.Sudz wrote:How did San Fran not convert down near the endzone? Just poor poor play calling.
It was sort of like the end of a college basketball game when the ticking clock seems to siphon all the sports IQ out of all the players and they lay eggs.

Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
Simms was just brutal last night in the booth, even by his cellar standards. Is he that much of a sacred cow at CBS that he's untouchable as the network's No. 1 NFL analyst?
Collinsworth's voice may grate like nails on a blackboard, but he's decisive and knows football. But Simms and Collinsworth pale compared to Mike Mayock, the best NFL analyst on TV.
Good no-call on SF's final pass, by the way. We see that much contact on every pass into the corner of the end zone. Plus Simms, of course, missed the fact the ball may have been uncatchable, anyways. It landed a good 6 feet out of the end zone, to my eyes. The pass was more of a hurried throwaway by Kaepernick due to the Ravens' blitz than a proper corner fade throw.

Yup, he throws for big gains but he rarely throws to flats or check downs within 5 yards of the LOS. So he chews up big yards in plays between the 20s but haven't made many pass plays from inside the 20.Sudz wrote:probably his lack of experience catching up to him.warnerwlf98 wrote:The Ravens were showing blitz before the snap, and they came with a vengeance. But I think a lof of that is coaching and play calling. The coaches weren't sure and had to burn a timeout, probably because they got a play in late. If they got it off, looks like he may have ran it in.
Ravens telegraphed that blitz up the middle and looks like they didn't consider throwing to the middle vacated by those blitzing LBs. I think Shanahan prepped RG3 better for those situations.
He'll have to improve in those situations if he's to lead the team back into contention.

I still can't believe Kaepernick threw the first interception by a SF quarterback in a Super Bowl.
Montana was perfect in four Super Bowls. Best quarterback ever. Any questions?

Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
Agreed. The only person who I think is even close is Brady, and his recent playoff struggles have made him a fairly distant second. Bradshaw obviously played on some great teams but he wasn't the engine for most of those Steelers teams the way Montana was.pk500 wrote:Montana was perfect in four Super Bowls. Best quarterback ever. Ravens in a tough spot with Flacco. I don't think he's an elite QB, just an above average one who got hot at the right time, but someone will overpay for him if the Ravens don't.

Except for almost every prediction how often have I been wrong? It does sound good though.
Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
Also, I think that was holding or PI on Crabtree on fourth down. The ball was on the five and he was in the endzone, so clearly outside of five yards. Phil Simms saying it was a good non-call provides further evidence there was a penalty.
Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
I probably would have called holding. Crabtree pushed because he was being held. A penalty with 13 minutes to go should be a penalty with 2 minutes to go but you know refs.Brando70 wrote:Also, I think that was holding or PI on Crabtree on fourth down. I never cry any tears for the niners.

Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
I agree, I hate the logic that you don't call it at the end of the game. I'll put it this way, it seems like it would be less controversial if the call was made than if it was not.
Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
Yeah but if they flagged that play, the refs and the NFL would have been accused of handing the SB to the 49ers.Brando70 wrote:Also, I think that was holding or PI on Crabtree on fourth down. Controversial call or non-call either way, though probably far more controversial if the call was made.
49ers bailed the refs out though with a poor series of plays and reaction to the blitz on that play. Crabtree may have been expecting a back shoulder throw right where he was and the QB lobbed it up in a semi-panic to the blitz (may have been someone open inside since the Ravens brought the house). If he got a hand on the ball, the refs would pretty much be forced to call the hold or PI since he was being pulled on while the ball was in the air.

Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
Agree wco. Damn if you, damn if you don't. In my eyes a penalty should have been called as Crabtree's jersey is clearly being held in the reverse camera angle showing his name. But the headlines today would have been focused on a gift wrapped SB to the 49'ers if that call was made. To avoid any controversy, SF should have had better play calling prepared against the Ravens blitz, but it is what it is.wco81 wrote:Yeah but if they flagged that play, the refs and the NFL would have been accused of handing the SB to the 49ers.Brando70 wrote:Also, I think that was holding or PI on Crabtree on fourth down. In the end Joe Flacco deserves the extension and the MVP, he may not be all that flashy but was dead accurate last night. And let's not forget the QB's that stood on his way to the SB. Not too shabby at all.
The power outage definitely gave SF a booster, it was an entertaining game.
