Other studios should watch that dev blog and take notes.

Here is what we did, here is why and here is why it won't f*** up the game.

Pretty simple concept

I think I may just get the Vita version this year since I rarely use the PS3 anymore. Are the Vita and PS3 versions identical game play wise?

Do you not read the rest of the thread? 12 was the same. Obviously we don't know about 13 yet.

Yeah Rodster, just look back a bit in the thread. Also, DB posted the article about how some playoff presentation audio was omitted from the Vita version simply because there wasn't enough room on the Vita cartridge. The audio totally ramps up when the playoffs begin on the Ps3 but the audio stays the same on the Vita. Check out some videos of the Vita version from last year. It's a ridiculous game for a handheld. I'm hoping they have the bundle deal again this year. I do recall the Bita version being in the online store on releas day.

Here is one of the Vita reviews from last year...

I just hope it doesn't have a stupid loading bug that killed the game for me last year.

I do wish it had an online component that allowed me to look at my team's (and minor league) stats. That was one of the best part of the High Heat series... digging through stats and watching player develop.

Pitched my 1 and only no hitter in High Heat (2001 I think) Pedro Martinez. Loved that game. Amazing series.

Baseball is such a stat driven sport, that an online stat database would be amazing and really help with the immersion factor.

High Heat totally took me by surprise after I got my first PC (1998?). Phenomenal game. Probably my #1 of all time.

Amazon is doing the $20 off if you buy both versions (PS3/Vita) again this year. I'm sure more retailers will do it as well, but it's up for pre-order on Amazon right now.

Fired up my PS3 last night just to play MLB 12 the show.....best sports gaming franchise of all time. That game just draws me in unlike any other sports games.

I've been really enjoying it of late also. My new 60" TV has something to do with it but I've finally hit a sweet spot on my settings. My Mariners fantasy draft franchise is a joy to play right now.

Last year's Vita version is still so good. In lieu of playoff mode (which finally gets implemented this year) I like to do a Pirates fantasy draft 29-game season. Play each team once, round robin style, see where everyone ended up in the draft. 60's and 70's uniforms whenever possible. :)

Any chance they'll introduce the 2K version of MLB Today?

I believe they are...along with a playoff mode.

From the fact sheet...
The Show Live (PS3 & PS Vita) - The Show Live provides an exhibition-based mode using data from MLB.com to populate daily match-ups, line-ups and starting pitchers, giving users the opportunity to play in an environment that matches the “real-world.” The Show Live presents games in the same way as season-based modes, with up-to-date player and team statistics. Hear commentators reference the previous or next day’s events, based on real-world situations and information. Users have the choice to play a game from today, or turn the calendar back and play any game from earlier in the season. The Show Live brings users closer to Major League Baseball action than ever before!

That is exactly what I wish 2K had done with MLB Today. It looks like SCEA perfected the mode.

Guess you haven't been to southern California lately...too many damn transplants from the area and clearly a few made it on to the development team in San Diego. Ugh. LOL.

How do the Cardinals rank at #2, are these last years rankings? I'd love to be wrong, but it looks like a 2nd place year in St. Louis.
Dodgers #12? Really? Reds 9? Both should be much higher. Reds should prob be top 5. They got the Yankees about right though, and the Astros (30) lol.
1- Detroit Tigers
2- St. Louis Cardinals
3- Boston Red Sox
4- Los Angeles Angels
5- Toronto Blue Jays
6- Texas Rangers
7- Washington Nationals
8- Atlanta Braves
9- Cincinnati Reds
10- Philadelphia Phillies
11- New York Yankees
12- Los Angeles Dodgers

Agree. My gaming interest has dwindled significantly, but this title is a system seller for me, and more than likely will be the reason I choose the PS4 over the next Xbox. Of course a couple other exclusives from Sony have me intrigued as well.

The Cardinals at number 2 in the rankings is a bit far fetched. Their starting pitching is slightly above average, but nothing mind blowing. From what I've read, Yadi is a 99 rated player.....? He's a great player, and had a tremendous 2012 season, but I highly doubt we'll see him put up similar numbers to last year. Plus, he's such a slooow base runner.
