Well Mancini wasn't playing him much and he decided to take also a paycut to play for his childhood team. His comedic acts will be fine in Milan.

Balotelli was the Alanis Morrisette of the EPL. Hot and interesting for about a year, and then people stopped caring when the hype evaporated.

People stop caring when you stop playing, all his antics are fine as long as he was playing as well as when he first got to city, he was unbelievable at first now hes more trouble than hes worth when hes on the pitch.

Im sure if he gets regular time in a team hell be brilliant again.

Hell of a game today between Your Toon and Villa the second half was a flash back to the English first division, well at least the young boys of villa where, i enjoyed it a lot.

Yeah, Pardew must have heaved a major exhale after that game. I recorded the game and hope to watch before the weekend.

I agree, I think he's a hell of a player.

Also agree that RC Olympique Newcastle vs. Aston Villa was a lot of fun, I'm surprised there weren't more goals but that Cabaye volley was brilliant.

If my dad makes it till the end of the season I think we will actually witness Chelsea fans sponatenously combust in the stands with rage. It's absolutely hilarious. I also love the section of Chelsea fans getting mad at Roman Abramovich - I think they should persue this line of thinking and chase him out. That will end well for their club....

Oh, while he may turn out crap, before he plays a game I would just like to say that as of today, January 30th, 2013, Liverpool have a Brazilian #10 who's last name ends in 'inho'.

No. It's not Joe Coleinho.

They'll probably turn around and loan him out. He's 5'7", which is a bit lumbering for Brendan. There has to be a 4'6" Welshman out there somewhere. :)

Great work by Varane to make up the ground on Fabregas and get in the last-gasp tackle:

Not long afterwards, he scored the equaliser. Not bad for a 19 year-old playing on such a big stage

Can't believe he's still in demand, esp. by a top club or one with ambitions.

Unless he's still moving a lot of jerseys?

Ding-ding. We have a winner. Plus it's a five-month deal. Little risk for PSG.

And from what I understand, most of his salary will be donated to a children' charity in Paris, so why not just enjoy spring in France while collecting a percentage from those jerseys while warming up the bench and playing maybe 35-45 minutes a game?

A win-win for both parties.

Loved this from Grantland this a.m.
Thursday was Transfer Deadline Day in European Soccer, and David Beckham is on the move after signing a five-month contract with Ligue 1–leading Paris St. Germain. Beckham also announced that he would be donating his entire salary for the remainder of the season to charity. "It wouldn't be right to accept money and get to play with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Paris; that's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," said PSG forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic when asked about Beckham.

Newcastle fans must thank JT in their entertaining game with Chelsea. Sissoko could have had a hat trick too.

Hartlepool United won today. The scorers were named Hartley and Poole. I'm not a headline writer, but something tells me we won't be seeing a huge amount of independent thought in the League One sports pages tomorrow morning.

Similar things have almost happened before, of course, most famously when Ian Wright scored for the Gunners against Oldham Athletic in 1993/94. Sadly for Wrighty, his strike partner David Nal missed a sitter in injury time.

Sissoko! What a home debut for the Toon's new hero in an intense, needed victory over Chelsea.

My favorite scene of Soccer Saturday was the befuddled look on Ashley Cole's face after a brilliant Sissoko run in which Cole appeared to think, "Holy f*ck, I can't mark this guy."

Chelsea are better off with Terry out of the lineup.

Reina is a shell of the goalie he used to be.

The US boys are back in action, beginning the Hex today at 4pm. Tough but winnable fixture at Honduras. Donovan needs to stop his lollygagging and get his ass back in the team though.
