This week's Anfield Wrap podcast had a few guys waxing about just how f***in cool Dimitar Berbatov is - something I tend to agree with and his celebration today my opinion is further reinforced.

Hell of a match today at Old Trafford, even if the wrong side won.

When Newcastle went up, 3-2, I told my daughter, "ManU will tie it." I didn't tell her United would win it.

Pato back to Brazil. Wasn't he supposed to be the next big thing?

I will admit I have small sample sizes, but with guys like him and Robinho, I watch them play and I just didn't see it. Certainly not bad players, but way over-hyped.

Pato was quite good whenever he was able to get a run of games. Unfortunately, that happened maybe twice in his Milan career. The dude is made of papier-mâché.

Surprise, surprise, Taggart gets nothing for harassing the refs....and then goes off on Pardew and the Toon. It's amazing how many other managers, and the media in general, just kiss this guy's ass. He's a phenomenal manager, no question, but what a d*****.....

Ferguson should have been punished. But his rip at Pardew managing a "wee club in the Northeast" was biting, accurate and appropriate, as much as it pains me to admit it.

Newcastle managers, players and supporters love to trot out the "we're a massive club" line any time it seems advantageous. Well, it's a crock of sh*t. Having a huge stadium does not make a club "massive." Winning silverware does. And Newcastle hasn't done that since the Inter-Cities Cup in 1969 -- when Alex Ferguson was 27 years old.

I love the Magpies. But the delusion of the supporters sometimes puzzles me. You should be loyal, but your brain also should be rooted in reality.

I was moreso commenting on his reference that Pardew should be thankful for what Ferguson's done for him - again hinting at the old boys club of British managers of which he's the head. I also remember the shitstorm that Fergie created when Benitez insinuated that Everton were a small club - he called him arrogant and said it was beyond the pale.

Rafa's 'Facts' speech still rings true.

OMG!!! Tis the season in the EPL. Goals coming thick and fast. Great tele for the neutral.

If you managed to not hear nobster Ian Drury tell you all the scores check out Man city, Stoke, Newcastle at least.
Enjoy.

Which EPL team has the worst defense right now, Newcastle or Aston Villa? The final score might be 10-8 in a fixture between those two teams.

Rafa out!

:)

Anyway, any modicum of pity I feel for referees goes away when I see s*** like Lee Probert today against Newcastle - not so much the sending off of Shola Ameobi but the absolutely dickish way he brandishes the red card - walks up like he's Dirty Harry, gets right up in Shola's face and pulls it out without saying a word. Clearly revelling in being the centre of attention.

No Ba, no hope for Newcastle in FA Cup. Lost to effing Brighton.

I'm starting to have SERIOUS worries about relegation in the Premiership. Newcastle is in the worst form of any Premier League side.

I don't know PK; my dear Aston Villa are racing you to the bottom. Seriously, there are 5 teams who should be relegated this season. 2 are going to luck out and live to stink up the Premier League for another season.

Hilarious, Suarez cheats and Jon Champion is reprimanded by ESPN UK for calling him a cheat on TV.

How many times do you see a ball hit a defender's hand in the penalty box and he stops play, walks over to the ref and says "Sorry, ref, but the ball hit my hand so it's a penalty"? Zero times. So by Jon Champion's logic all those defenders are cheats as well.

How many times do you see players calling for an offside when there isn't one? Cheats! What about calling for throw-ins when the ball last went off them? Cheats! How many times have you seen a player pull another player's shirt and then walk up to the ref to confess their sin? Zero - yup, all of those guys are cheaters!

I could go on.

If Suarez is a cheater for what happened yesterday then pretty much every player is a cheat and the only reason that tit Champion made a big deal about it is because it's the pantomime villain Suarez.

This Suarez thing is an utter non-story, so let's move on, shall we?

Howard Webb is working the ManU-LFC game Sunday. Hours after it's announced, the bookies take notice:
