Good lord, stop me...

...I actually have enjoyed Close Quarters, the more I've played it now. Yes it's crazy, over the top. BUT there are no damned 'perks' dealing death from above and below. Just guns, and grenades. I would never make it my 'go-to' mode, but grab an automatic shotgun, and a couple of grenades, and it's pretty doggone fun, for what it is. That said, the new Armored Kill maps are AWESOME. Especially the snowy mountain map. Holy cow!

I waited to respond to your first post about Close Quarters because I thought you might reconsider. I did. I initially hated Close Quarters. But I grew to enjoy it at face value: A slaughter pen. Reminded me a lot of our early XBL days playing Rainbow Six.

Good fun. And I agree 100 percent about the Armored Kill maps, especially the snowy mountain map. Epic.

No. The maps are really big, though, and getting from place to place almost requires a vehicle; also, they have a mode called 'Tank superiority' that is tank warfare, but you still can run around.

Good times tonight. We finished the night in style.

The battlelog ios app is actually very well done and functioning, something it wasn't doing before instilled playing the game.

Had a blast with Close Quarters last night. Really, really love the Gun Master mode.

One of the few drawbacks is that squads are limited to 4 players. We usually form a squad and then find a server that is running the games/maps that we want to play. If we have more than 4, the extras just pile in once we are in the game.

There is and its realy good on hardcore , we only had enought to play it once, but if we got a server for a night we could do team deathmatch in private i think.

I played some Squad Deathmatch, which was excellent. 4 4-man squads fight to a fixed number of kills.

I gotta say that I'm utterly in love with the CQ stuff. It's like a completely different game with no impossible to shoot down aircraft and a bunch of small tactical challenges all its own.

I got out of BF3 before the private servers proliferated, so that's been a bit of a culture shock. People have some really fuc%ed up house rules on those things! Some make sense, but others are just bizarre. One that I played today outlawed C4 in Conquest games. This puzzled me. It's a cheap easy kill to C4 the flag, of course. But it's also pathetically easy to counteract and hardly in need of a fix. But no C4 and no shotguns seem to be the overwhelmingly most popular house rules in CQ.

Locked and loaded. I'll be on sometime later this evening. How early depends on how bad the Eagles play.
