Freaking Amazon CEO just confused the hell out of everyone at the PR. Even Engadget was struggling to keep up with all the models. He did flash a picture of the KF SD which like I said is basically last years KF. Maybe Amazon just dropped the SD not to confuse anyone else, LIKE ME !
I got the 7" 32GB for $249 and I thought the HD was the 8.9" tablets but yeah it's the 7" tablets as well. I really don't consider 1280x800 HD whereas I feel 1920x1200 is.
I understand they are keeping last years model, so I don't need links bro. LOL...I'm the one that told YOU that.
As for HD...if you want to get into specifics about resolution, HD is actually 1280x720 and FULL HD is 1920x1080 (not 1200)...you know, if you want to split hairs.
And I'm pretty sure the OLD KF is w/ the updates is not 1024x768 since that's a 4:3 ratio, not widescreen. Sheesh...still spitting out wrong info. It's 1024x600.
Rodster wrote:Yeah but it's a third party not Amazon.
True, but why does that matter, you can still use your giftcard towards it?
Because you are probably paying more than MSRP with a third party. Amazon would charge $199/$249 and give you free shipping. Yeah you can use GC on any purchase on Amazon.
If you took advantage of your Prime Membership you might rethink your N7 purchase. You can watch a ton of Movies, TV Shows, rent books for free. Amazon just added a sh*t load more content for Prime members. That's why getting another KF is a no-brainer for me because I take advantage of my Prime membership.
Another thing i've noticed is that i'm seeing more apps designed around the KF and not just generic android apps.

Fine, you use Prime and you only want to stream Amazon content to the device. It's perfect for you. But anyone that wants a decent email client, browser, twitter client, and a myriad of other apps that ARE available for Android...but just not allowed on the Fire, you have a serious limitation. 99% of the world would be better served to get an N7, which unlike the Fire, can use ALL android apps. There is a reason the N7 has gotten nothing but praise from the tech-loving web...it's NOT just another Android tablet. It's that good. Have you even used one extensively? Jelly Bean completely changes the game.
And by the way, what app have you seen that is designed around the KF that cannot be used on the N7, outside of the built in Amazon apps? There aren't any.

Exactly which is why I said many times that the KF is perfect for ME. It's not for everyone else. Mizz has a Prime account and I thought he could put it to some good use, that's all. As far as KF apps go I never said they don't work on any android device. I just mentioned that it's becoming more common for apps to be customized for the KF as opposed to just a variant of the similar app for any android device.
I never said JB wasn't any good. I quite liked it but again when I had an N7 as much as I liked the hardware, I just saw it as another android tablet. All I used it for was just to surf the web and play games. I still have my Galaxy Tab for that.
The KF strikes the right cord with me because it's a packaged experience. I find myself using it for so much more than playing games and surfing the web. That's where Prime complaints the Tablet and that's my hook. But if someone doesn't give a sh*t about the conetent available thru Prime and is looking for the latest hardware then the KF may not be the answer.
I find that hardware isn't the end all for me if i'm not doing a whole hell of a lot with it.
