They haven't figured out the ZBS yet at all. McFadden has no room to go anywhere, so Palmer throws a bunch of 10 to 20 yard passes for big yards, but tons of times they start inside their own 20 and make it to the 40 or the 50 and punt. There was a sequence where they seemed to start inside their own 10 for 4 straight possessions or something (one was on the 1 yard line). So they can't run a lick, and Palmer can only do so much throwing the ball up until they get in the red zone. Then they can't score at all because the defense just covers and isn't worried about the run at all.wco81 wrote:How does Palmer throw for almost 400 yards and they only score 13 points?

Fisher on Jackson:
Final stuff on this from me tonight; here are the Jeff Fisher quotes on Steven Jackson not playing for (roughly) the final 2.5 quarters: "He had a strained groin. It had nothing to do with the spike. That was the rumor that was (going) around. His groin was real tight, and it just didn’t make sense (to play him.) We didn’t want to subject him to it. I don’t think he would have been 100 percent, going back in the game. And we’ve got other quality backs and as you can see they make plays for us.”... there will be more coverage on this, including a story on Steven Jackson and Daryl Richardson, on http://www.stltoday.com/sports later. Thanks. about 2 hours ago

Did he say why he didnt challenge the TD pass to Gibson? Strained brain muscles?

Pretty sure they didn't start outside the 20 until the 3rd quarter...and if they did it was once. Lol.TCrouch wrote:They haven't figured out the ZBS yet at all. I really don't know how Miami won so big. Tannehill didn't do anything special...he just didn't throw the game away like last week. It was a weird game. Reggie Bush is damn good.
The Raiders clearly got tired in the second half...the weather, the travel and the black unis (Dolphins always wear white at home for that reason unless it's a night game) all took their toll. And McFadden looks like he's a step slow for some reason. He's not running away from tackles and he dropped two wide open passes. He looks like he's not even trying.

Yeah, I figured Jackson was injured. Those refs suck ass though! RGIII who?

Lost in my rants...What a great game Bradford had. Off to a pretty good start this year.

Omg I had no idea. His dad Ed was the true genius, inventing the whole concept and doing an amazing job selling the idea to the great Pete Rozelle, for whom embracing the concept is part of what made him a genius in my mind. But Steve was that ever so rare second generation individual who took the business forward into the modern age, embracing so many new technologies, constantly pushing the envelope, and solidifying NFL Films as the institution it has become.XXXIV wrote:NFL Films' President Steve Sabol succumbs to cancer

It's awful to think Ed, who was just enshrined into Pro Football Hall Of Fame a few years ago and if I remember correctly was presented by Steve, must bury his son. I always wished I had worked for NFL Films at some stage when I worked in camera. He's a legend to me. I keep Showtime pretty much so I can watch what I call "The NFL Films Show," officially known as Inside the NFL. That family must really have been suffering these last couple of years.

My favorite TV shows growing up in the 70s were This Is The NFL and the NFL Game Of The Week. I am pretty sure that that is what they were called . It has been almost 40 years.
Waited all week for them and damn if they didnt have me psyched for the games on sunday.
A combined hour of awesomeness. The footage, the music, the narration and of course the production. This is what we had before cable and they have not been out done yet.

RG3 complaining about late hits and unprofessionalism in the game against the Rams.
This dude went from respect to the next Mike Vick by opening his mouth. Then insinuating a bounty, I guess the head coaches crazy is rubbing off on the players.

RGIII got more calls for late hits than late hits. NFL replay showed the game again this week. What a crybaby. The girl needs a skirt.Danimal wrote:RG3 complaining about late hits and unprofessionalism in the game against the Rams.

Bears 3 Rams 0 early on after the worst late hit on a punter I have ever seen. The punt was long gone and the moron thought he would hit him anyway. Cmon Fisher get a grip on your goons.

Spiller out with a shoulder injury for the Bills. No Jackson, no Spiller. All of the offensive responsibility is on Fitz.

Re: NFL Season 2012-2013
Bears 10 Rams 3 at half.
The bright side. The defense looks pretty good so far as it was two extremely DUMBASS penalties that extended both Bears scoring drives.
The dark side. The offense looks terrible. Dropped passes and lack of any type of pass protection. It is what I expected with only one of the five Rams preseason starters still standing.
Time management not great either as the clocking of the ball with 37 seconds to go and 2 TOs remaining was brain dead. Lost the down and Fisher takes the two time outs to the half. Why?
I hope I am wrong but Cutler is due to explode. His connection with Marshall looks good and its only a matter of time.
Lets Go Rams!

Pick six. 20-6 Game ova!
Bears defense eats lamb.
They have been the story or lack of a story. The one time they extended a Ram drive they snuffed it out right away.
Next week? Rams? ....next year I mean. I do see improvements. In the game into the 4th qtr three straight weeks.

Great Redzone today.
Vikings shocking win over the Niners.
Schwartz. Stupid is as stupid does! Blows the miracle Lion comeback with his back up qb sneak 4th down call.
Chefs cook a comeback stew over the headless Saints.
Dolphins just missed the game winning FG.
Good times.

Carpenter is as good as tannehills deep ball. Both horrendous. Nice game Fins.

Your team really p*ssed that game away. Were pulling for Dolphins entire game. Thanks.dbdynsty25 wrote:Carpenter is as good as tannehills deep ball. Both horrendous. Nice game Fins.
the funny part is, Tannehill doesn't really impress me. Yet in his first season, he's already a better QB then Sanchez. And playing against better DB's (at least until Revis checked out)

Both QBs were hurt by drops but both are bad quarterbacks. Still haven't seen a single thing that makes me think Tannehill is capable QB. He can't throw the ball further than ten yards with out overthrowing a guy. Only long pass he hit was hartline completely laying out for it cuz it was overthrown as well.
Just an amazing loss...typical of Miami. D is pretty damn good at least. Can't win if you can't kick that's for sure. Carpenter needs to be cut now.

It was that but your rook has only played three games. FAR too soon to judge. He had the game won at the end if not for that horrific kick.

Rook or not you have to be able to hit guys that are open by five yards twenty yards down the field. He can't. Hasn't yet.XXXIV wrote:dbdynsty25 wrote:

But at least Bradford shows flashes. Tannehill has shown nothing but a 40% completion percentage and having a very good defense.

Yes but the amazing part is that the Jets didn't win going away. So many bad calls that all seemed to go in favor of the Dolphins.dbdynsty25 wrote:Both QBs were hurt by drops but both are bad quarterbacks. Also, the Jets lost both their top DBs and Miami still couldn't complete passes downfield.
I don't know what the Jets are doing with Tebow. All the play calls when Tebow is in there are horrible and fool noone.
Sanchez made some key throws when he needed to, but overall I think he's pretty bad. At least Tebow has an upside and can improve. I think Sanchez peaked 2 to 3 years ago.
