Re: PES 2013
No question the patching community and option file creators are doing an amazing job but JRod's point is still valid. It's not a particularly big deal for me personally but if there were more fake league/team slots it would be possible to create a single super patch with loads of leagues and you wouldn't have a situation where, when installing the Smoke patch for example, you have to choose between the 2nd Divisions from England, Italy, Spain, etc. if there were more slots, you could have them all, plus MLS, the Argentine, Brazilian leagues etc. At least that's the way I understand it.
As regards the gameplay from the demos, I think the developers have been clever by not trying to fix what wasn't broken from the very good PES 2012 and tweaking what needed to be tweaked. The improved ball physics, player positioning and shooting have enabled them to achieve the "hard to go back to the previous version" feeling that was a hallmark of the series in the past.

Re: PES 2013
Any word on the framerate issue getting fixed between now and release? Going back and forth between the PES and FIFA demos really highlights the stuttering framerate that kicks in pretty frequently in PES. Probably the biggest issue with the game at the moment.
Re: PES 2013
This is my point. Why limit the community when and maybe without question can do a better job at ratings and looks than FIFA and PES combined.rhymes450 wrote:No question the patching community and option file creators are doing an amazing job but JRod's point is still valid. If you don't have a PC then modding is a bit of a chore. Just open up the damn game and instead of having slots for 20 teams. They have country slots with the ability to add as many times and flights as you like. I'm sure there's space constraints but I would love to have a super Master League consisting of more than 4 leagues.

Re: PES 2013
9/10 not too bad. With FIFA getting the same score, it looks like we'll have two great football titles to play this year. I like the gameplay of the PES demo better than that of the FIFA demo this year, so I will definitely be sticking with PES on the console, but will be playing the heck out of FIFA 13 on the Vita for my handheld football fix. This is a great summer/fall for sports games thus far.
Re: PES 2013
I am in Hong Kong currently on business and I am just about to take the plunge. My only doubt is which system still? The PS3 demo did run smoother than the 360.

Gamesplanet.com (above) has the PC version on sale for 15% off (stop laughing, PK).
Am downloading now.
I'll probably also get the 360 version if enough DSP'ers get it - would love to have another league going.

Wait so its available already on the PC from that site? Looks like it isn't a preorder or anything. Hmmm.Macca00 wrote:http://uk.gamesplanet.com/buy-download- ... 57-34.html

Re: PES 2013
Well, the salesman in Hong Kong helped me make up my mind for the PS3 version. Got the game for only $45 and while my original intent was to play with a few of you footy fans on the 360, I was reminded that the game for Xbox was not region free like Sony.
And while I am not sure if the latency had been fixed for online games, he reminded me also that the option files were easier to transfer on the PS3.
So I got the game now, just have to head home in a couple of days and dust off my PS3 a bit. I will leave Fifa for online and FUT play on the 360.

Downloaded the PC version last night. Will wait for the mods to trickle out before I really get into it.

Re: PES 2013
Did the same...was gonna go 360, but my computer is significantly better and I rarely play online, so no need to get the inferior version as far as mods go. Will still check out Fifa next week for a console fix (via Gamefly).fsquid wrote:Downloaded the PC version last night. Will wait for the mods to trickle out before I really get into it.

gamingaccess used to have the better mods, but it looks like they have gone under.

Re: PES 2013
Wow this game is fantastic on the PC. The graphics are much improved over the last version I played on the PC (2010) and the control with the 360 controller is fantastic. I can't believe how much different this game feels compared to Fifa. Going back and forth between the pre-release Fifa and PES is almost night and day when it comes to the attacking of the AI...it's a lot more controlled and strategic in PES it seems...Fifa is pretty much quick passes and crosses and that's about it. So far anyway. Still early with both.
The one area where Fifa clearly dominates is the player interaction and physics when it comes to the collisions. Sure, some are a little over the tap ala Madden this year, but at least there is something. The positioning for balls in the air is pretty non-existent in PES, but it's up front and center and pretty damn important in Fifa. So yeah...hmmm.

EPL XBOX 360 Option file already created : http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=91196 .
Here are some details :
The file includes:
* Licensed kits and emblems for all 20 Premier League sides. League logo is also licensed.
* Detailed formations and tactics for all Premier League sides. Set Piece Settings have been updated to increase authenticity. Defenders will come up for corners now: Vermaelen and Mertesacker at Arsenal for example.
* 95% of Premier League squads are correct. Some players are missing, however,
these issues will be fixed next month once Konami release Data Pack 2.
* Licensed kits for all 16 Liga Zon Sagres sides.
* The Bundesliga and npower Championship have not been completed.
We will fix these issues and release a fix file as soon as we can.
* New players have been added to add even more realism:
Nico Yennaris at Arsenal, Richard Wright at Manchester City and Nick Powell at Manchester United for example.

Re: PES 2013
$10 gift card with purchase from Best Buy this week, which is sweet because I also have a significant reward zone certificate to cash in. I was also very pleasantly surprised that I was able to sell PES 2012 for $29.45 via Half.com's "Sell it Now" option. I only paid $29.99 for it to begin!
Re: PES 2013
One thing I don't like about PES is the manual passing. It just doesn't work well for me on the PS3. I just can't have the control on how I want to swerve a ball, what part of the ball, spin etc. Quite often, the pass intended is not the original thought.

The manual that comes with the game is massive. I can't believe all the different control configurations for offense and defense. Thankfully, the manual isn't just on the game but a reference that can sit beside me while playing.

The only one I found so far doesn't work with the downloaded version of the game. Soooo not sure. Haven't looked in a few days.dougb wrote:Any files out for the PC version yet?

Re: PES 2013
It is indeed kind of refreshing to have a thick manual in a sports game for a change. I've been splitting my time this week between Become a Legend and Master League. Become a Legend is a lot of fun and has enough stuff in it to make me want to play match after match to advance my player and see what happens next. The biggest thing that is impressing me most in PES 2013 is the flow of the matches. The game plays great. I also am enjoying the tactics. The AI has made a change for the better. No napping and going through the motions or else I get burned often.
Re: PES 2013
Can't find the manual for my on-line version. Is there a PDF or e-reader version?
Thanks,
Doug

Re: PES 2013
Doug,
I bought the game from Gamesplanet.com and have no sign of a manual either - I've emailed them but have yet to get a response. Hope these help;

I don't know about PC option files but for patches there are these two;
http://www.evo-web.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=68885
http://www.evo-web.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=68860
I would probably wait a month or two before getting these (or others) until they're really polished up but already they look very good (and the patches for last year's game were fantastic).
I'll let you know if I find any option files.
