Why are United wearing Nan's tablecloth as a jersey?

Re: Beautiful Game 12/13 Thread (Major EPL slant)
Well, didn't see that one coming. First win in 15 against United for Everton.

What a game today!!!!!!
What a crowd....what a mic job by ESPN...great announcing and commentating. 1000 times more exciting then watching the NFL this weekend.

Moyes just gets it done with whatever he has. I really like that guy.

Wednesday signs some striker from Barcelona and he promptly scores within 15 minutes of his debut.

A player with a great future behind him, I suspect.

Why is Moyes not mentioned as a possible successor at United when Ferguson retires? Am I missing that speculation?fsquid wrote:Moyes just gets it done with whatever he has. I really like that guy.
He seems like such a natural fit at United. Scottish, hard-ass, gets the absolute maximum from his talent, solid tactically.

If anyone is interested, there is a show on NBC Sports Network (formally Versus) called Dream On: The journey of Wembley FC. Basically, Budweiser is sponsoring this non-league club, giving them a professional backroom staff and seeing how far they can go in the FA Cup. Great first episode tonight, I'm sure the repeats will be on later. It will come on every week at 8pm EDT.

By my calculations, he'd have to jump 6-7 guys to get into the Barca team. He's great for the Championship level. Was ripping apart a defense of a top 6 team last year in Birmingham.rhymes450 wrote:Must be an amazing talent to adapt so well to the step up in classfsquid wrote:Wednesday signs some striker from Barcelona and he promptly scores within 15 minutes of his debut.![]()

Just being a bit facetious after a few beers. I probably haven't seen championship football since it was called the 2nd Division but of course it's a very high standard of soccer. I'm sure that the guy will make a very good living out of the game if he keeps that form up. The money out there even for non-superstars seems incredibly high. Apparently Richard Dunne was on 53,000 sterling a week ($4 million a year??) at Villa. Not too bad!fsquid wrote:By my calculations, he'd have to jump 6-7 guys to get into the Barca team. Good News everyone, every US World Cup Qualifier will be on TV. Well, it's only good news if you have BeIn Sports.

Dempsey rumors with Liverpool. I don't know how true they are but I would love to see if he can flourish in a better squad. He's paid his dues with Fulham and I think he knows its now or never.
Even though I dislike Liverpool, I'm rooting for Dempsey to get a shot with a bigger club.

Definitely bigger club, not sure if he'd be going to a better squad at the moment although I do hope Liverpool get him.JRod wrote:Dempsey rumors with Liverpool. Maybe they can throw Stewart Downing into the deal for a bag of practice balls...

Dempsey wants to go to Liverpool. Liverpool seemed to have express interest in him early in the summer, but don't seem to be in any rush to make a bid for him

Entertaining Supercopa today. Barca rebounded very quickly for the win after Real went up 1-0. Iniesta, Xavi, and Messi have been superb the past couple matches.
BTW on a side note, beIN Sport USA is awesome. Being able to see so many La Liga matches in HDTV each week is cool. I've even been watching some Ligue 1 matches, and will likely pay attention to Serie A some as well this season. Fox channels , ESPN, GolTV, and beIN -- soccer has really come a long way in terms of availability of seeing matches in the USA.

Re: Beautiful Game 12/13 Thread (Major EPL slant)
If Mourinho inserted Di Maria earlier in the game, Real could have taken some of the pace back from Barca as they were closer to a 4-1 lead if it wasn't for Casillas. Despite the loss, Real scores a crucial 2nd goal and the goal differencial is just minimal for their rematch next week. It was a thriller.
Re: Beautiful Game 12/13 Thread (Major EPL slant)
beIn is a solid channel no doubt.
Re: Beautiful Game 12/13 Thread (Major EPL slant)
Fulham started with a lead before the home Reds started to take control of the game including a beautiful strike by RVP. Still, their D is suspect and quite sloppy in this young season and I am curious how the final 45 minutes will end as Petric definitely had his chances to narrow the score. De Gea has been solid for ManU.

It's early, but Everton is a damn fun side to watch so far this season.

Re: Beautiful Game 12/13 Thread (Major EPL slant)
I cannot believe the ref gave Chelsea a PK on that ridiculous dive by Torres in the box. That diving f***er launched himself into the air without even being breathed on by a Newcastle player. That unfit fatass Dowd manages to f*** Newcastle in every match he waddles up and down the pitch.
LMAO and as I posted this Torres dove again, but didn't get the call. The diving Spaniard makes me sick.

Berbatov to Juventus for 4 million. United paid 30 million for him originally.

Signed as a 26 year old, sold at a 29-30 year old? What did you expect? Also he's gone to Fulham, supposedly.fsquid wrote:Berbatov to Juventus for 4 million. United paid 30 million for him originally.
