Agent Dash is free today. It's similar to Temple Run with a different take on the genre and the graphics are much nicer. I also snagged Voice Assist the other day when it was free. It's a Siri clone that's pretty good.

Unfortunately the offline mode on amazon only works for puchases, not free prime streaming titles.
Also, new trailer for real racing 3. Looks like they are upping the ante for what iOS racing games can do.

REAL TRACKS For the first time in the series, Real Racing 3 will also include a full lineup of real world tracks from the top names around the world including Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Silverstone. With a 22 car grid, gamers will be able to pit themselves against 21 other drivers in one race.

Wonder if licensing will change the pricing model of these games.
I like that Score soccer game that someone recommended here a lot. Would be great if they could get the actual players names and also do it for goals from club football. But the licensing fees would probably be huge.

DSP-approved Slingshot Racing got a MP update and is on sale for $1. I just picked it up.

My 10 year od son's new addicting game is mytown2. My 8 year old daughter is hopelessly addicted to Subway Surfer. There are too many great games for me to mention, but in this house, handheld gaming is dead.
Re: IPhone/ITouch/IPad Game App Thread
I'm currently addicted to Agent Dash.

In Japan though, things like Pokemon are huge.

Pitfall is now available but it's not the same side scrolling game we remember from the Atari days. If they add the original on top of this new game, I'll grab it for .99
Re: IPhone/ITouch/IPad Game App Thread
Have you guys tried the basketball/puzzle hybrid called Gasketball yet? Nice balance of frustrating and fun with a really good asynchronous MP mode....

Yeah I got Gasketball when it was set to free. Good game.
Re: IPhone/ITouch/IPad Game App Thread
CSR Racing just made $12 million in its first month. It's a freemium game.
It's made by Natural Motion Games. If that name rings a bell, that's because it was formed by the Natural Motion guys who tried to push Endorphin, the physics engine, and Backbreaker, the console game which tried unsuccessfully to break Madden's monopoly.
Apparently they recreated themselves as a mobile games developer specializing in bringing console-quality graphics to mobile gaming while targeting bursts of gaming sessions typical of mobile.
Not only are they making money, they're getting some VC funding.
They also have a licensed game called NFL Rivals. Looks like no online play or season/ franchise mode. Instead, another freemium game.
So they may be able to give you better graphics and physics but they won't bother trying to mimic console game features like head to head online play. Maybe that makes sense as such features really don't fit into a freemium model. They take long to develop and test, raising development costs, probably preventing this strategy of giving the game away but selling a lot of micro DLC content.

The highly-regarded XBLA and PC game, Bastion, is coming out for iPad tonight. I'm probably going to check it out.

Reckless Racing 2 is currently free. I had some good fun with it and felt it was worth a few bucks, personally.

Looking for a deal on an iCade cabinet. Would love to play the new Activision Anthology with Kaboom and Pitfall, along with several others!

Downloaded a couple free games this afternoon. Run Roo Run is a neat little game that's all about timing your jumps. Thinking my kids will really enjoy this one.
I also downloaded Gunman Clive. Great art design and a just a really fun Cowboy shooting game. The controls are nice and responsive, ad the gameplay hooked me in right away. A definite recommend!

This thread has fallen quiet.
Anyway, I just finished playing through Mikey Shorts. A simplified platformer that was pretty engaging.
Also, Lili just went on sale for $2. That has about the best graphics you will find on the iPad these days. I just downloaded it.
Crazy Taxi just came out for $5. I'll wait for a sale myself.
I'm also tempted to pick up Organ Trail or Minecraft, which has gotten a lot of updates recently making it much more like the PC game.
Lastly, you guys should get the touch arcade app. Easy to navigate, get videos and reviews of games, and track app activity/sales with favorite lists.

10000000 ("10 Million") is an absolute riot. Don't let the graphics fool you - it's incredible fun.

I have been sucked in by this game. Good enough that I have separate games going on my iPhone and iPad and don't mind too much. You die much more quickly than I would've expected in a game like this though.Macca00 wrote:10000000 ("10 Million") is an absolute riot. Don't let the graphics fool you - it's incredible fun.

GTA: Vice City coming to iOS/Android "later this fall." "Rockstar isn't talking details yet, but it has said that Vice City on mobile will have several "unique" enhancements and will be using native, high-resolution assets."
I never played GTA3 very much on my iPad, but Vice City was probably my favorite game in the series so I don't think I'll be able to pass on this.

EA released Madden 13 Social today to the App. Store.
It's a freemium game, unlike Fifa 13.
Haven't tried it yet but it sounds like you only would play online against Facebook members (not even Origin members?). And among the descriptions is "shootout" IIRC.
Hmm ...
Well it just takes up 600 MB but otherwise you don't have to pay for it.

Zoo Keeper is free in the App Store today. I remember playing this on the DS. Daughter is going to love this. Got to level 7 on my first try.
Re: IPhone/ITouch/IPad Game App Thread
Angry Birds Star Wars has surprised me. It's a great use of the SW license.
