Chrome for iOS. Fast, simple, and the synchronization features work great. Might finally switch from trusty Atomic web browser on my iPad.

I'm as big of a Chrome honk as there is, but the fact that Apple doesn't allow you to set it as the default browser is a huge flaw that cannot be ignored. Yes, it's cool to be able to sync and do all that stuff, but if I can't open links from tweetbot/reeder then I just won't use it. Such is life with competing companies I guess.Naples39 wrote:Chrome for iOS. Fast, simple, and the synchronization features work great. Might finally switch from trusty Atomic web browser on my iPad.

I've always used 3rd party browsers on iPad, so no bother for me. Also I did a jailbreak on my iPad a few weeks ago so I can change it anyway.dbdynsty25 wrote:I'm as big of a Chrome honk as there is, but the fact that Apple doesn't allow you to set it as the default browser is a huge flaw that cannot be ignored. Besides getting free stuff. What are the advantages besides tinkering your ipad to your hearts content of having your OS jailbroken?Naples39 wrote:I've always used 3rd party browsers on iPad, so no bother for me. Honestly, if it wasn't so easy, I wouldn't bother again. You can do some neat tweaks, but nothing major. My main motivation was being able to use HBO GO on my tv.10spro wrote:Besides getting free stuff. This new game, Outwitters just came out. Toucharcade seemed particularly excited for it. It's turn-based strategy, MP only (asynchronous). Reminds me of Advance Wars on GBA.
Anyway, it's free with additional factions available as IAP, so I'd live to play matches against DSPers.

Angry Birds Seasons HD is free.

Who else has it? This game's invite system shows my whole gamecenter list, not just those with the game, so it's confusing. Naples is wiping the floor with me right now in my first game but i'd enjoy getting decimated by others.Naples39 wrote:This new game, Outwitters just came out. Also I've liked what I've seen from the free d/l of Summoner Wars, highly hyped over at NHS. I'm considering buying more factions or the whole bundle. I've never played a game like that but the iPad/iPhone is a great way for me to get into it.
Also while I'm at it, who else has Ascension? I'm still really enjoying that, have several games going on all the time. It'd be nice to add more folks to the rotation. CP Zeppo is my gamecenter tag.

Well you seem to have very good at this game quickly, judging by our last 2 games!!Zeppo wrote:Who else has it? Anyway you can see who of your friends has this game by going into the GameCenter app and selecting this game. My GC friends list is actually kinda pathetic though.

Williams has a pinball arcade app that is kicking my &ss. The app free but tables u buy are not. Despite that, they look amazing on iPad retina & play great. I've spent hours on Gorgar, Funhouse, and Bride of Pin-Bot (and others). I've never been into pinball games, but this one has me.

Maybe you should try accepting friend requests.Naples39 wrote:Well you seem to have very good at this game quickly, judging by our last 2 games!!Zeppo wrote:Who else has it? Haha, yes. I went into the GC app for the first time in a while yesterday and noticed I had a few requests.ScoopBrady wrote:Maybe you should try accepting friend requests.Naples39 wrote:Well you seem to have very good at this game quickly, judging by our last 2 games!!Zeppo wrote:Who else has it? I can't even count the hours I've dropped playing this game. It looks gorgeous on the iPad 3 and it plays so good. With 2 new tables a month I will be playing it for years. I even contributed to the Kickstarter to get the Twilight Zone table and will again if they start one for Star Trek:TNG.greggsand wrote:Williams has a pinball arcade app that is kicking my &ss. My only complaint is that the horizontal nudging seems backwards and there is no way to nudge vertically making some of those side drains (particularly the CV table) particularly tough. All in all though it's a brilliant game for anyone who enjoys pinball, especially real tables.

The tables "out of the box" are so good, I have a hard time deciding which to play. Not being a pinball geek I don't know if this is possible for "Williams", but I'd love to see "the black night" & the "stars wars" pinball machines. Those were the 2 machines I loved back in the day.btmmayor wrote:I can't even count the hours I've dropped playing this game. It looks gorgeous on the iPad 3 and it plays so good. If you mean Black Knight you are in luck as that and Creature from the Black Lagoon are due out any day now.greggsand wrote:

Score! Classic Goals is free today. Wow what a really cool game and graphics look really nice.

Re: IPhone/ITouch/IPad Game App Thread
The Amazon Instant video app just came out for iPad. It looks like the real plus of this is that if you have a prime subscription, which I do, you get free streaming for a bunch of shows/movies.
Apparently this also includes an "offline" mode where you can DL and then watch without internet connection. I'm going to have to give that a shot when I'm on plane next week.

Re: IPhone/ITouch/IPad Game App Thread
No Airplay support I hear.
Hulu Plus for the Apple TV but what is stupid is that some shows are not allowed to be streamed to set top boxes, only viewed on the web.
Now, I wonder if you can use the iPad to Airplay to an AppleTV to view on the big screen. Or Mountain Lion also does Airplay mirroring so you can view the shows on the site.
If you like sports, you'll never cut the cord. But it would be nice if you can cut down to the minimal TV package and then supplement it with something like Hulu Plus. But to get ESPN and other sports channels, you can't get a basic package.

Sending these videos from hbo or similar apps to an appletv is really the only use I've found for jailbreaking my ipad.

Re: IPhone/ITouch/IPad Game App Thread
Why do you have to jailbreak? Airplay is suppose to work directly to AppleTV.
Re: IPhone/ITouch/IPad Game App Thread
Because apps like HBO and amazon specifically block it. Jailbreak can get around that.wco81 wrote:Why do you have to jailbreak? Airplay is suppose to work directly to AppleTV.

Aw, that blows. So they'll let you view on a tiny screen but not on a big screen. Guess that's a reason to try installing Mountain Lion and playing from the HBO Go site.
