I'm trying to get some Siege games running this Saturday (6/30) at 10pm ET. I have a couple of friends from here and some from OS and we have been struggling to fill up a lobby.
If your interested in a good friends only game, join us on Saturday night. Look for me or send me a friends request, Pete1210.

Think so, Spook. It may not be right at 9:30 (central), but I'll do it. Been too tired to move the last few days, and have consistently fallen asleep at the controller. lol. So look for me tonight, brother.

I've only played two of the maps for the newly released 'Arctic Strike' pack, but can already say that it is SO worth the dough! The maps are HUGE! The new mode, "Stockade", is pretty good (still prefer Saboteur), as well.

10 central sounds good. Fifa, you MUST get this pack, brother. It's got the map sizes we've more or less been clamoring for. BIG. All of 'em.

Stockade mode sounds pretty cool:

Stockade

When players die they go to a respawn queue – the "Stockade". When a player gets a kill, one dead teammates gets freed from the Stockade. Each team has an objective. Completing the objective frees all of their teammates from the Stockade. Game ends when every player from one team is in the Stockade. If time expires with players active on both sides, match goes into Overtime. There is no respawning in overtime - the first team to be eliminated loses.

I'm eager to hear impressions. I'm not keen on spending $10 for maps unless this mode is a hit, extending the shelf life of this game. Very curious whether these maps and this new mode return some of that "old-school," big-map, tactical mojo of early Xbox and PC Ghost Recon games.

Paul, the map named 'Riot' immediately made me think of that old GR:IT city map. It's HUGE. The other two, one which is on a skyscraper rooftop, and one that is in some sort of encampment, are also very big for this game. But you'd get giddy jumping into the Riot map.

The more I played Stockade, the more I liked it. It would be a FANTASTIC DSP-only room game type.

Let me add that Stockade has the effect of slowing everything down, as well. If you don't want to be staring at the map, with a message telling you that you are 4th in the Queue, then you'd better be careful, and know what you're walking into. That's what makes this mode fun-it's deathmatch, but done so that it's STILL tactical. Brilliant.

Once NCAA released this game died on my friends list.

I'd like bigger maps for Siege, but I can't stand playing Siege with randoms.

Okay, fence riders-time to get off the fence...this sucker's legit!

Dan, Fifa, and I played several rounds of 'Stockade' last night, and a few rounds of 'Arctic Strike', the new Guerilla map. Arctic Strike is challenging! But it was Stockade, and the insanely cool new maps, that stole the show. "Riot" is a city map, absolutely massive in scope compared to any of the traditional maps, that should make old school GR vets feel at home. "Skyline" takes place at the top of a skyscraper, and though you might think that'd be confining and small...you'd be wrong-3 to 4 levels high, with tons of space on each level, lots of combat areas. Awesome level. And then there's Eviction (I think that's the name!) that takes place in an abandoned military encampment within a small area of a city. Again, the map is really big.

Stockade was fun; we got our butts handed to us more times than not, but had fun the whole time. The tug-of-war nature of the mode means you can be almost out, then roar back with a few kills, or manage to activate the objective, and your whole team can be revived, just in the nick of time. There was at least one match where we'd be down to one man, against five, when our one guy would make a kill, just as he was being killed, that allowed one more guy to enter the fray, then the one guy would enable another out of the Stockade, then another, then back down to one, then the objective gave us a full team back, then...it's just constant. The mode is great because it REALLY slows down the action, as you don't want to be in the queue, so you tend to work together more, talk more, use better strategy. We all declared that this is the perfect DSP room mode. We've gotta get all you knuckleheads to get this, and get some good, old timey DSP action going!

I echo Teal's statements. Actually plan to write up an impressions post for the site later today.

I would love a DSP only room and to play a round on each map where we don't shoot each other but we just explore these maps. They are huge and learning them is key to survival.

I have to agree.. the mode and the new maps are worth the price of admission. With a room of DSP guys I believe all other game modes may be fighting for a distant second place. It's pucker moments from start to finish. It's the pressure of being the one of the last guys knowing that one kill get's one of our guys back into the battle. I can't remember a game mode where I was so interested in knowing where my squad mates were at all times. As Teal said, there's a lot of communication that just happened naturally. One of our first matches I stayed well back from Teal and Danimal.. sure enough they were flanked to their back and I was there to provide support.. Small detail, but oh so satisfying.
