OK, so I didn't go streaking down Fig. Would have been tackled by cops after 5 seconds.
But i do have a couple videos I shot.

Well, TECHINCALLY the Sens HAVE won the cup, several times. Of course, this was the original Senators, in fact, we had a bit of a dynasty here:pk500 wrote:I think the Sharks, Sens, Sabres, Blue Jackets, Predators, Wild, Coyotes, Panthers, Caps and Jets would quietly disagree.MizzouRah wrote:Congratulations Kings fans!!!

I love seeing California teams do well in any sport. Gotta admit those Kings looked lethal when they were on and not handcuffed by nerves or whatever the hell got them in games 4 and 5. I knew a couple minutes in this would be the night, because they were playing ferociously in the opening minutes again. Then NJ went on a little roll there, and then the infamous penalty that ended their season.
As a Ducks fan, it's tough to see the Kings win it all, but good for them

Saw this posted on another message board. Thought some of you might get a chuckle out of it.

Maybe we are the longest in exsistance without hoisting a cup.pk500 wrote:I think the Sharks, Sens, Sabres, Blue Jackets, Predators, Wild, Coyotes, Panthers, Caps and Jets would quietly disagree.MizzouRah wrote:Congratulations Kings fans!!!

I do find it neat that there are 9 different winners in the past 9 seasons.

My pick for the Hart goes to E. Malikin, the Vezina will go to Lundqvist although J. Quick should win it but their regular season wasn't as good as the payoffs. And E. Karlsson that just signed a 7 year contract with OTT should win the Norris.

Sounds like some trade dominoes could begin to fall. Nash (NYR?), Ryan (BUF?), Luongo (TOR?).
I'd be shocked if the Flyers don't make a trade by the draft, or if JVR is still on the team a few weeks from now.

Bobrovsky to CLB for 3 picks. First trade of many in the next few days?
I also feel like this means the Flyers are done pursuing Nash from CLB--no reason to do Bob deal separately from big deal for Nash.
Luongo, Nash, Ryan, Staal, Yandle, Suter and Parise (rights) all still up in the air.
Fun days!

Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
The endless rebuilding continues for the Oilers, which have one of the worst front offices in the league.
Will be humorous to hear Lowe and Tambellini say how Yakupov or whomever they pick will help them return to prominence. Yeah, we've heard that while sitting last in the Western Conference the last few seasons.
Lowe and Tambi should have been canned at least two years ago. I have no idea what kind of pictures they have of owner Daryl Katz, but they must be damning.

Oilers could very well trade that pick, according to rumors.
Justin Schultz would be a big pickup for them too.

They'll be OK offensively so if I were Tambi I would go rather for a D-man.

Agree. Which means Tambi will take Yakupov.10spro wrote:They'll be OK offensively so if I were Tambi I would go rather for a D-man.

Staal brothers are reunited in CAR. B. Sutter is an excellent prospect going to PIT along a 1st rounder.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
A lot of defensemen being drafted early. Eight of the first ten draftees play in the blueline.

Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
No, I meant Yakupov. Why draft a defenseman when you can stockpile another small forward to play in front of a suspect D and an aging, injury-prone goalie? I guess Tambi figures the Oil doesn't have enough young Smurf forwards in Gagner, Eberle, Hall, Omark and Nugent-Hopkins, each of whom weighs less than 200.10spro wrote:You mean Ryan Murray.pk500 wrote:Agree. Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
Congrats to the new HoF class: M. Sundin, J. Sakic, A. Oates and my beloved Pavel Bure whom I thought deserved it already last year. For Oates is a special day too as he's been chosen head coach of the Caps for the next season.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
I was surprised that Sundin got in on the first ballot, especially since Shanahan didn't make it. All of this year's class were deserving, though. Bure was a brilliant player and I'm happy to see him enter the HoF.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
Shanny will get there next year for sure. As you said all well deserving of the honor, if I had to pick I would have still chosen Sundin over Oates with no disrespect to Adam at all. #13 played with a bunch of stiffs for a long time and he always made a difference on and off the ice. Really happy for the Russian rocket, the debate here in Lotus land is whether he deserves to have his number retired. His departure from Vancouver wasn't the best and without pointing fingers (the club should have treated him better IMO) he was easily the most exciting player that ever wore a Canucks jersey.toonarmy wrote:I was surprised that Sundin got in on the first ballot, especially since Shanahan didn't make it. Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
Before his knee injury, Bure lifted everyone out of their seats -- in the arena and at home -- when he got the puck at speed in the neutral zone unlike any player since Lafleur. And I haven't seen any player since the Russian Rocket who could do the same over such an extended period of time. Ovechkin had his moments in his first two seasons, but Bure was better for longer.toonarmy wrote:I was surprised that Sundin got in on the first ballot, especially since Shanahan didn't make it. What a day for Adam Oates. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame and got his first NHL head-coaching job, with the Capitals -- on the same day!

Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
Bure getting in must mean there's a good chance of Lindros making the Hall of Fame since their career stats are so similar.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
There is no doubt Lindros will get in. Since the NHL only allows 4 in per year a lot depends on who becomes eligible in a given year, and recent years have had a lot of great players going in. My guess is he will enter the Hall in the next 3 years or so, which would make his wait about the same as that of Bure. I think all but one Hart winner since the mid-1970s, who are eligible, are in the Hall. Lindros has a Hart and was a dominant player, so he is definitely deserving.Feanor wrote:Bure getting in must mean there's a good chance of Lindros making the Hall of Fame since their career stats are so similar.
