What makes it equally irritating is putting is the best part of my real game. I had a round last week with 26 putts. I would sing a happy song if I accomplished that in Tiger.

**sigh** Maybe I really should buy a new controller and see if that helps.
I'm asking because I don't know, does wind have any effect/affect on putting? IRL or this game, I would think not because the ball is on the ground, I'm just looking for an answer.

Wind can affect putting IRL but were talking strong winds. I have no idea if it does in this game, I doubt it.

Well, I don't think a new controller would hurt other than your wallet. I remember having my putting in the mid 90's at one point and I just couldn't sink anything in. My putter now is around 86 and while I am not pulling miracles, I am much steadier than being in the mid 90's.

On the subject of wind affecting putting in this game, I doubt that.

Guys, I goofed up the settings for today's Daily at Bethpage Black. I didn't intend to set it for "Blue" tees, but that's what we've got :( I was in a hurry and didn't double check the settings before I hit the "Create Tournament" button.... sorry about that.

I've been making some long putts, but I've also had way too many 3 and 4 putt greens recently. I read your comment about this and recalled that when my putting attribute was in the mid-80's, I was putting better. I adjusted mine down from 98 to 84, and I'll be darn if I'm not putting better. The difference is I'm not running the the 4 to 8 foot putts 10 to 15 feet past the hole when I miss them. The putter doesn't feel as "touchy" overall, but is responsive enough to let me have enough feel for the 10 to 40 foot putts. The 40 foot plus putts I just think of as get in range for a two putt.... every now and then I'll make one.

I didn't get a chance to actually touch the game yesterday, nor yet today, but I did read on the official Tiger Woods 13 forum where there was some sort of "cleansing" of the leaderboards, which affected individuals who were involved in exploiting a glitch in the game which allowed them to use boost pins in live tournaments and head to head play that wasn't set up to allow the use of boost pins. There were apparently other cheats that were used to elevate club status points at insanely exaggerated rates. For example, a new club formed just last week had already risen to #5, in overall club standing 8O

EA was reportedly going to be at least resetting the status points for those individuals and clubs involved in the "cheating". I couldn't name one club or individual involved in this, although I have some suspects. I'm just curious to see how this affects our club's overall standing as we could possibly move back into the top 100. It sucks that the game doesn't really track you once your club drops out of the top 100. Honestly, I'm shocked that there are 100 clubs with enough participation to keep this much of a gridlock in the top 100 clubs.

Finally, the official EA Sports communications yesterday suggests that another PS3 patch is coming in the next couple of weeks, with a less firm release guesstimate for the XBox 360 version patch. I'd like to see this game get a bump from a patch that allows it to perform closer to its stated design. As much fun as I have with the short pitch and chipping game the new design enables, I'm frustated with missing pins, game freezes, insanely ridiculous no-penalty drops, and jittery putting stroke animations (although I don't expect this to be fixed in a patch).

So much of the "live" flavor is missing from this year's game. I miss the hole summary during the flyover of the upcoming hole, showing a breakdown of eagles, biridies, pars, bogeys and "others" by those who've already played the hole in the tournament. We used to get a crowd roar and a news flash on the screen advising us of when "so and so just eagled the 12th hole as we were preparing to play a shot. It gave the game some spice and a bit more of a live hook. It just seems so dead and isolated right now.

Here's a link to the Tiger 14 Game Changer page suggestion for enhancement ideas for Live tournaments. http://www.easports.com/gamechangers/id ... gnId=27785 I agreed with it and the more people we can get to sign on with it, the better the chances are it will get some attention from EA. Divot's already mentioned this page and it has some great ideas, but it doesn't appear that many people are using it as a channel.

Today's Daily will be an hour later than normal... I was late getting back from my bike ride and couldn't get it in the blender before 7:00 PM.

10sPro, that was a real nail-biter you and I wound up involved in at Scottdale, eh? That's the first tournament I ever won by vitue of a tie-breaker... and only by 15 points at that. I love playing Scottsdale; it always seems like it's an escape from the norm.

Here's an odd little factoid I'd like to throw out here. I started noticing how many times I was knocking the ball stiff on 16 at Scottsdale. I started keeping a tally on my scoring record there. I have now birdied that hole 11 consecutive times I've played it... it's starting to get a bit weird to be honest. Anyone else have holes they feel like they absolutely own in this game?

One other note to DSP club members... this Monday's DLC Daily will be at Costa Navarino. If you'll notice, our club Dailies are now on a new clock cycle. They run from 8:00 PM EDT to 7:59 EDT. I can reset it back to our old cycle if this turns out to be a problem, but it will require missing a Daily to make it happen.

Considering I was away for a couple of days and jet lagged at that point, (it usually takes me awhile to get going if I don't play the game daily) I was completely shocked that I was just 3 shots behind you when I as at #16 with my eyes half opened and I just went for it. I think I may have had just a bogey which ultimately turned the tiebreaker in your favor. Good round John.

Thinking that I was on a groove, I proceeded to finish the weekly which was a total mistake. The pin placement was on medium and after shooting a decent -9 on the 3rd round I thought that I would be on the red again.Big mistake. Gale wind aside, I just never hit the ball straight, can't remember which hole it was but I triple bogeyed at one point ruining my hard work on round 3. I was putting an average of at least 12' putts as my approaches were all way short of the hole.

Finished the round at +5 and ending with a final score of -2. Easily my least favorite weekly considering the conditions we played at, after the infamous 15th hole at Bethpage.

Thanks. I had one of those nights last night. Two of the best rounds of console Tiger I have EVER played. Warmed up for the final round of the Weekly by playing the Custom Ace Tournament (Tournament settings, no grids) at Blackwolf Run. Started slowly as usual (-5 at the turn) as the leader was at -16. Made a couple of putts to start the back 9 and ended up -8 on the back for a -13 and 2nd place (as of last night). I have never placed that high before in one of these tournaments, so I was pretty pumped.

Started the final round of the weekly 10 shots behind Wilk at -13. Made the turn at -4 and still 6 shots back not hoping for much. Eagled the par 5 and managed to eagle the drivable par 4 to tie Wilk at -23. All I wanted to do was bring it home with no bogeys and one bird and managed two birds coming in with no bogeys for a -12 and a 2 shot lead. However, I still see HOGZ, Ortho and JC still lurking and anything is possible......

That was a spectacular round! I can't see myself putting together a 60 under these conditions. My slow tempo swing produces anemic shots that get neutered by gale force winds. I had it to 7 under at one point late in my round yesterday, and was looking at a 25 foot eagle putt on 15? I ran it 10 feet by the hole, missed the birdie putt by 10 feet going back the other way, and then missed the par putt by running it by 8 feet. I had a knee-knocker for a bogey  I missed the 16th badly and struggled to make bogey there.

Divot, I eagled that driveable par 4 on the back in the first round, and birdied it in the second and third round. I hit a 3-wood into it in those rounds and wound up way on the far side of the green for a ridiculous 2-putt birdie. Do you recall what club you hit off the tee there in the final round (don't worry, I don't think you're going to arm me with enough information to overtake you  ) You were 8 under par on the back 9!? That's just sick 8O I bet you'll remember this weekend in cyber-golf fore some time to come. Nice finish in the Custom Ace tournament also. I didn't have the cahones to try that one :)

And to think I was going to give you crap for not warning us ahead?

(I never read the conditions before I play). Don't know who else hasn't played the course, but with people like DM, Ortho Wilk and Truth, what are the chances of me holding the lead? :?

Thanks John.

The club on the driveable par 4 I think was my 5 wood as I had a tail wind on the shot and it got to within 12' on the drive.

Thanks. I was throwing darts out there all round. Got a big boost from 2 eagles too, as I usually choke on eagle opps. It's probably the easiest course in the game, and for whatever reason I suck at reading the grids in this game. Turning them off really doesn't affect me, which of course means all the other tourneys with grids on I'm losing ground to the field.

Things change for me so quickly in this game. Followed up that 60 on Melbourne with a horrific 74 at Pinehurst. The turtleback green absolutely devoured me. Hit every fairway, only 25 putts, yet still scored a 74 because my approaches were slightly off and I was a disaster chipping. Got an 8 on #5 as I chipped it too hard, rolling it into the bunker. I then watched my bunker shot roll back to my feet at the bunker THREE times. Ugh.

I can speak to that completely. Nice round at Melbourne!

About to go play the Daily and see what happens. Have not looked yet, but I'm guessing the next Daily is PH #2....oh goodie....

Well, I haven't had a freeze for awhile until I played the daily at Navarino. Twice. At the 16th hole when I was -3 and the second time around on hole #5. Aaarrgghh.

My apologies once again for not getting the Daily set before 8:00 PM tonight. I got held over at work and didn't get home until 8:05 PM. I've got one set to go at 9:00 PM at Crooked Stick. I doubt I'll get to play today, my home boss would frown on it now that I've only got one hour of "quality time" to spend with her this evening
